Hori's new line of arcade sticks in Japan
Solid_Toki emailed me pointing out a Famitsu blog which has several screen shots of Hori's new line of arcade sticks for the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.
Hardware isn't region locked, so if these products tickle your fancy, you can always grab them through an importer like Play-Asia. Here are select images and a bit of information from Famitsu.

Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX
30,000 Yen — about $334 USD, March 28, 2010 release

Hori's wireless arcade stick
PS3 7800 Yen, XBox 360 9800 Yen. About $87 and $109 USD respectively, March 4, 2010 release date

Would be nice.
If hori sticks didnt have a bloody stupid button layout.
Or if the wireless sticks had no wireless lag.
Or if they where easy to mod.
or if they where a SENSIBLE price.

$334!!!!! No thanks, I'll stick with my TEs. For $334 that stick better come with an Utada hand release.
Posted by ??! on February 5, 2010 at 3:29 p.m. #5
it's the same color-scheme as the original TEs!! wth?? it's like the TE went on a diet
Posted by DarkSydePhil on February 5, 2010 at 3:31 p.m. #6
Im tried both these sticks, they both lag.

Posted by j Wong owns on February 5, 2010 at 4:01 p.m. #8
Um, too expensive Hori! Madcatz is going to own you at those prices.
Posted by @NoMoreHeroes on February 5, 2010 at 4:19 p.m. #9
Don't even think about them, these stick are even cheaper than Fighting Stick 3.
Posted by kornbeaner on February 5, 2010 at 5:43 p.m. #10
So for the price of one hori I can catch 3 TE sticks on sale for the same price, geez I wonder which is the better deal?
Posted by Batsu on February 5, 2010 at 5:52 p.m. #11
I want a small version of the Arcade pro
Posted by Batsu on February 5, 2010 at 5:54 p.m. #12
or just less expensive version
Posted by Meh on February 5, 2010 at 6:24 p.m. #13
So they still insist on putting the Start button so close to the action buttons then, eh?
Fail, Hori. Fail.
Posted by SuperSaiyanSagat on February 5, 2010 at 7:01 p.m. #14
same as the tekken 6 wireless i just got for 30$.
amazon. com tekken 6, wireless stick, art book = $66.
its worth it at that price. the MvsC TE and fight pads wont reach to my other tv.

I think it looks awesome. The viewlix wannabe one anyway.
Though I just ordered my TE and chImp board. :/
But for that price.... Mehhhhh.
Posted by @ meh on February 5, 2010 at 7:44 p.m. #16
why you can't prevent your hands from mashing the buttons that tend to lead you to accidentally press the start button ?
most mashers I've seen in the arcade tend to press something else lol
It's funny when they screw up
Posted by Ezekiel on February 5, 2010 at 8:19 p.m. #17
Viewlix stick ftw and better pcb ftw, and FYI the TE's are based off the viewlix style layout and to add this is a taito viewlix licensed stick. To the people hating on the start button location, that's where it is on the arcade cab !!!

Sorry - Super don't justify another stick purchase.
...Not that IV turned out to either anyway. >_>
Posted by $334????o_0 on February 5, 2010 at 8:40 p.m. #19
LMFAO!!... xD xD xD
How about some DECENT FIGHTING games to justify all this overpriced paraphernalia?! >_>
Posted by dfe on February 5, 2010 at 8:50 p.m. #20
They should be wired sticks.
Posted by Amp on February 5, 2010 at 10:14 p.m. #21
That is a lot of plastic...

"To the people hating on the start button location, that's where it is on the arcade cab !!!"
Yeah, except on a console if you accidentally press the start button you go to pause and get your ass whooped or, if you're on a tourney, disqualified.
And seriously $334!? I mean seriously.

Failstick is fail. Slapping anyone I see @evo with one of these monsters.
Posted by @#23 on February 6, 2010 at 2:14 a.m. #24
Totally agree with you on that one, problem is that the ones that are complaining are most likely masher lol
and don't want that start button there to prevent themselves from being disqualified lol
Also if the stick was cheaper than 334$ it would have probably have been bought by people who want to have that arcade feeling if they plan to build their own cabinets, but seriously 334$ is asking way to much...

I don't get. This Hori stick is longer, but the joystick and buttons are still the same space. So what is the point of it being longer? To attack your opponents with while you do shoryukens?
Posted by Ruiz on February 6, 2010 at 2:55 a.m. #26
Psh, I'd rather put that kind of money towards a stick made by those modders on SRK. B15 and ecksnine.
Posted by pesser on February 6, 2010 at 4:24 a.m. #27
WTF ARE THESE PIECES OF CRAP GTFO HORI
Posted by trr on February 6, 2010 at 5:10 a.m. #28
man madcatz should start selling in japan already.
Posted by WOW on February 6, 2010 at 7:39 a.m. #29
That stick is about $200 overpriced. For that stick having full Sanwa parts (speculated)....I'm sure those wireless sticks are the $30 EX/FS3 sticks just with a wireless "upgrade", so $80 for a $40 stick???....Both arent worth anywhere near the asking price. Plus to modify them you need soldering iron, desolder, solder, and alot of patience.
Posted by stuff on February 6, 2010 at 9:29 a.m. #30
The premium looks very cool. Gives it the viewlex cabinet feel...I can you open it up it seems. For what reason? I'm not sure... could be for modding or probably packaging. But 332 USD? that is very pricey. You could get a PS3 for that price.
Posted by T on February 6, 2010 at 10:18 a.m. #31
if you guys are hitting the start button by accident, your just mashing randomly. the start button, unless placed where the the light punch button is, should pose no problem if you know what your doing.
Posted by what were they thinking? on February 6, 2010 at 11:42 a.m. #32
Horrible idea for hori
Posted by sponge1210 on February 6, 2010 at 1:54 p.m. #33
if there were a 2 player panel i would be interested but the price is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by LoneWolf on February 6, 2010 at 2:43 p.m. #34
At $334, i could get 2 360 arcade in a box sticks.
PASS!!!
Posted by -_-" on February 6, 2010 at 4:57 p.m. #35
To those complaining about the start button placement. Really? Does your hand really fly off that far when you button mash? Are you hands the size of Hulk's? Hori's start button placement on all of it's sticks has been fine. I just don't see how your hand would fly off to hit the start button, unless you were giving someone 5 across the face while playing. Learn some proper hand coordination noobs.

The Hori Wireless stick for PS3 is not too bad. No real lag I can feel, except when used on a PC, and playing Online. Street Fighter IV PC and 3rd Strike on GGPO is input lag all the time online. Do not recommend PS3 stick for PC.
The 360 one should be fine, I have a wireless adapter for 360 controllers, and never have gotten input lag on anything. The adapters and drivers are solid.

If you check the source/link(Famitsu blog) on the post, you'll see 2 black arcade sticks with either white or blue button themes. I think these sticks(HRAP V3 SA) are the ones that are competing with the Madcatz TE's. Cuz they're 12,800 yen which are about $140. But I remember a comment that stated that SFIV was bout $90 in Japan. And by going along with that statement, I think their prices are about 1/3 higher than ours. So really, that $140 is really about $100 over here, which makes sense cuz the HRAP3 SA/SE(the recent/previous model) were like $120 over here to compete against the TE. And so...that $334 is really like $210 which is of course still very expensive, but it's an option for those wanting more. For like a real arcade experience and I think you can mod it easier too(especially if you don't have to unscrew anything. And the button compartment, is a pretty convenient idea, especially if you play Marvel lol) So yeah, it's there.
And IMO, wireless arcade sticks are always a bad idea. I haven't tried any, but I know any lag at all make them almost unusable
Posted by some dude on February 6, 2010 at 7:37 p.m. #38
I made a mistake. Those sticks are "Real Arcade Pro. VX SA." And the previous models are the HRAP V3 SA/SE. They are 14800 yen, which is $165, so they will probably be the same price as the previous models, which are $120 for the PS3 and $140 for the 360(higher probably cuz of the headset and something else idk bout).
Posted by Ezekiel on February 6, 2010 at 9:21 p.m. #39
360 sticks are slightly more expensive because of microsoft and their funkiness

No my friend paused at tourny with this stik. It was bcos Seth did his long ass Ultra and cos of da easy accessibility of the start button you he pushed it to skip scene and didnt notice wat he did rong until it was 2 l8.
Another dude did the same thing at the tourny with the same stick, but he said it was Roses Ultra. It was there own stiks too. It was bcos online habits cross over.
Not cos of mash dp.
