• Kevin Sharpe, who was the only person named in regards to the images of the Marvel vs. Capcom comic showing Galactus and Taskmaster, called out a few websites and claimed they reported information falsely, in regards to who the leak originally came from. This aside, it seems to back up even further that these images were something of note.
• Juicebox Abel briefly shared his thoughts on Yun and Yang in SSF4 Arcade Edition, stating: "Yun's better on offense, Yang has more defensive options. I like Yang better. But Yun is probably better in tournaments." He also followed up with this message: "I prefer to let my opponents make mistakes, so Yang is more my style. if you prefer to be more proactive, play Yun."
• The World Game Cup in France will be running a Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Teams Tournament. Players who attended last year were Daigo Umehara, Eita, Fuudo & Desora, and it's possible we'll be seeing a similar lineup this year. If so we'll be able to see top players using Arcade Edition characters in a major competition in the near future. This tournament runs from February 25 - 27, 2011.
• Super Street Fighter 4 3DS Edition will be playable for the public for the first time at an expo in Japan. The Nintendo World show will be held from January 8 - 10, 2011. Submitted by Fawaz.
• Udon has new Darkstalkers and Ibuki comic books compilations available. Tip also from Fawaz.
• An article titled Darkstalkers and the Twelve Principles of Animation is up over on Art-Eater.com, examining how Capcom was able to craft such a artisticly strong game. Sent in by kSummer.
I find this Kevin Sharpe rant/venting interesting. I feel bad for the guy if he did indeed take heat from his employers for this. However, it's his own fault. He keeps saying he deserves an apology, but for what I'm still confused. If it isn't true then there should be nothing you couldn't laugh off. Now if it truly was a legit leak, well then it's his fault. I mean this with all do respect, but think before you post stuff on the internet.
Why he deserves an apology is he contacted the websites in question and told them they had false information at which point those sites should have corrected the story, but they didn't. That's crappy reporting you should always own up to and fix your mistakes, especially when someone's job is on the line.
I've always maintained that the Darkstalkers series has the best graphics on the PS2. A near second would be the non-versus Marvel Fighting games. For me personally the big part of the appeal of Darkstalkers was how great it looked.
When the original came out there was NOTHING else like it in the arcades. That game was GORGEOUS. Still is.
At the time, the leap in graphics was almost like seeing Street Fighter III for the first time.
Because a huge part of Darkstalker's identity is the beutiful animation, I dunno if it would translate well into 3D. I guess we'll see what happens in MvC3 with morphing characters like Shuma Gorath.
One thing's for certain, if they DID make a 3D Darkstalkers they would have to use the MT Framework.
@#6 If it was a co-worker that leaked the information and not him then yes a retract and apology should be given. If it was him that did then nothing is owed. An apology for getting him in trouble would be nice, but again not owed if this is the case. I can see him being upset, but he seems to be directing his anger where it shouldn't be. If he leaked it be mad at yourself. If his co-workers did be mad at them.
Hmm, I think I'm gonna use Yun rather than Yang, me bein a Rufus player and all.
@Quezacoatl
It's Quetzalcoatl, not Quezacoatl. Titlatoa Nahuatl?
@#9 Yes, if it was indeed a co-worker and not Kevin then a retract and apology "SHOULD" be given. That much we can agree on.
@7 I've never played Darkstalkers but the characters look unique and I've always been a fan of monsters and folklore. The comic looks amazing and if they every make a new Darkstalkers game, sign me up.
is it just me or did they just leak a clue about Elena? if she's in the Comic Book then she might appear in SSFIV AE...could be wrong...

Confirmed for the WGC 2011 are Daigo, Mago, Tokido and possibly Sako too. I don't give a damn about the arcade edition, it will just be a chance for Daigo to show what a headstart he's got on the rest of the world in maining Yun. I hope to get in some rounds against his Ryu in non-AE though.
wow the article on animation is way decent and a very good read. i want darkstalkers soo bad. they need to remake carry it on it was an amazing game.
Whether this guy deserves an apology or not, leaked the information or not, I don't think that's really the issue. How he carries himself in this situation is problematic. There's a little thing called "PR" and "damage control" when things like this happen, and going off like a child on a Twitter account is not how these things should be handled.
Basically, he could have accidentally leaked this info. He could have had nothing to do with it. And the comic images could have meant nothing. Or they could, on the other hand, mean a lot: they could confirm the recent leak.
You see, when just the images were out there, those were the uncertainties in our head. Those were the questions that we couldn't answer.
But now... The images are pulled (which is bad enough)... and the "source" of the leak decides to speak out. But wait... No, he doesn't calmly and rationally acknowledge the images and leave us with some kind of ambiguous response to secure those uncertainties in our mind (like the good ol' Capcom-Unity reps do).
No. Instead, he tries to pass the blame on someone else.
Wait a minute. What is there to blame? Why is it so important to proclaim that your name CANNOT be attached to these reports? I mean... If it's such a big deal, then wouldn't that mean the images meant something?
And that's exactly it. All he did with this tweet was confirm what we were already thinking. These images DO mean something significant, and we WEREN'T supposed to see them.
If I was a potential future employer, my reason to not hire him wouldn't be because of some kind of mix-up with the posting of these images. These things happen, especially on the internet, and especially in a web community like this one.
No. I wouldn't hire him because if a similar situation like this occurred under my roof, I wouldn't be able to trust the guy to maintain his cool enough to diffuse the conflict or even just keep his damn mouth shut.
This display would show me that in situations like this, I could expect him to publicly rant like a douchebag who apparently didn't get the memo that the internet is a harsh uncaring existence.
Keep digging your own grave, man.
But nice art... That you MAY OR MAY NOT be a part of...
Desora's Gouken is pure sickness, he needs to attend
@crimsonseiko
His work isnt PR related , he is just that , an artist . he is accused of something that probably make his current publisher angry and could cost him jobs .
Of course he wont care about protecting some already leaked pseudo secret , but clearing his name .
@24: Being an artist shouldn't mean he's incapable of holding his tongue. His work does not just affect himself or his employer, but it affects Capcom. On his crusade to "clear his name," he managed to validate a leak against Capcom. Whether he deserves an apology or not is moot. How he asked for it (or rather, demanded it with a tantrum) is the problem.
Whatever his job is , he's not in charge of PR .
Meanwhile he most likely got some huge heat from his bosses for something he didnt do , and thus righfully is furious too .
It's about his reputation and his career ... not keeping secret a leak that isnt any secret at all anymore .
And he didnt confirm nor deny the content ... only that he made no such leak , despites accusation of otherwise .
The rest is people assuming the legitimity from a leak whose's content have been guessed for quite a while now
If the comic images don't relate to the recent rumors then it's not a leak. If they do, then it's a leak. Furiously proclaiming that your hands aren't red for something that isn't a leak is fairly nonsensical. He wouldn't get heat for something that isn't a big deal. He wouldn't be worried about his career if his name was attached to something that means nothing. Use some logic here.
Employers hire people to make their business succeed. This guy is adversely impacting companies involved with these images. His rant and the implications it carries are the only things here that would hurt his career, not hack Internet reporting.
Had he tweeted "About those images my name is attached too, I just want to say that you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet," then we'd be good. From a business standpoint, that's a very mature statement. Killian and Svenson make similar statements consistently.
MAKOTO VERY ATTRACTIVE IN THIS
