Samjkim has translated the 2nd and final part of an interview 4Gamer.net had with several top Japanese players concerning Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition.KSK: So you plan to keep using Seth. How do you envision his gameplay?
Hiropon: Because he now needs to be more offensive, he might actually become more annoying. He was annoying before because he ran away, but now he’s going to rush down from all different directions.
Mago: His rushdown was always good to begin with. It’s just that he had no health, and it was hard to defend while fighting [?].
Hiropon: He’s been given more life and stun so I think it’ll be much better this time around. Before he’d get stunned very often against Viper, Ryu, or Chun… But I think the upper tier characters are still going to be a pain. Regardless, I think he still has a chance. Cynics want to place him pretty low, but I think he could be solid mid-tier.
In case you missed it yesterday, you can read part 1 here.

Meh! What do these guys know!
They just practice ALL DAY until it becomes boring.
How about this "Pros"
Go to Training
learn your character
Then win a tourney!
Or Play with a BAD character and win a tourney.
Playing with advantageous characters is like cheating!
Or Pros should go RANDOM to show their REAL knowledge of the game!
Capcom, who built the game from scratch, knows more about how to balance the game than everyone else combined.
You change one single thing about one move for one character, that affects EVERY single other character and their moves. And if you change any of those moves to deal with the first change, that also affects EVERY single other character and their moves. It's like having multiples infinite lines of dominos in 3D.
To think it's as simple as "well if you just buff the weaker characters and nerf the stronger ones, or if you just nerf this or that, then it'll be balanced" is idiotic.
I enjoy the reads, but they always come off almost telling people that the lower characters are useless.
Mago: Enough about Dan. He’s not supposed to be that kind of character. Dan Hurricane, then mix up uppercut or throw… What the hell is that? Kindevu’s dan really screws me up.
(everyone laughs)

BACK to guile. they mention MORE of guile nerf. it was the sadest part i have read. AIR throw range shorten. frame longer. etc .etc. and the LIST goes on. THEY neft guile so FEI long have no bad match up. this is redonkuless
@x_Who_Is_Alpha
Except they are always talking from their perspective , as pro players , not like us amateurs or noobs .
Of course as a pro you'll pick the best "item" possible for your skills .
If people wanna read so much into it , then so be it , but it's there fault . Half the issues usually discussed dont even apply to the level of most our resident whiners
I just find it interesting to hear what the pros think about the game. They could be wrong, and reading the interview, they don't claim to know everything and there are things that they don't know and correct each other on.
Instead of arguing over changes that you can't fully know the effects of this early in the game's life, I think people should focus on how neat it is to be able to read a friendly conversation about the game from some of the top players in the world.
I think it's cool how they mostly keep an open mind about the changes instead of quickly jumping to say "the character sucks now, worthless" and things like that. This is a nice discussion, instead of the heated black and white "if it's not awesome it's pure s--t" discussions I see on eventhubs.
Well seems like chinese people are going to reign supreme in SSF4 AE :/ aside from the Russian Cviper and the muay thai people
@4 I agree, a lot of folks think that because a character is not good they simply only need a buff to compete. A lot of people forget that while they are weak in other areas they are strong elsewhere.
For example say Character B is better than Character C but Character A is better than them all and so forth and so on. Now if you buff Character B and do not touch character A, Character B might become Over powered and Character C will have no chance at all.
Now if you buff Character C and B both, This may balance C and B but C might become stronger than A rather than balanced. It's a delicate formula. and while I don't agree with some nerfs and I really don't, I understand it's because some of the most unwatched unpopular matchups are considered as well not just Ryu vs Rufus if you get what I mean.
Wait, wasn't there another buff to Akuma's ultra 2? I remember eventhubs posting up Akuma's pros, and it said " Akuma can lp.Shoryuken, FADC, Ultra 2". Was this confirmed in the Arcades yet?
i guess vega sucks again poor vega plyrs he sucks so bad they didnt even mention him
i'm going to enjoy every moment of console SSF4 (should AE ever come to consoles) since Ryu is still decent
SO is it true that projectile characters are through, cause it seems like the characters without projectiles are better and better as the game becomes more offensive. Now everybody is going be rushing-down.
The SF4 engine is inherently defensive, so zoning characters rule. They would have to nerf the hell out of projectile characters to give rush down characters room to dominate. And still, good zoning characters are going to dominate. They have the tools and this engine suits them most.
I see a lot of charge characters getting nerfed....but I think the developers want the game to be less of a turtlefest.
God, why do I even bother posting on EventScrubs.
@1 Yun, and Yang are not that broken, as a matter Rufus is better (IMO).
@3 Playing a good character is cheating??? Why would you use a lower tier character to win a tourney when you feel comfortable maining a high tier character. Honestly I never hear so much complaining about other people using characters high or low on the tier list from other sites. It's really the person and not the character.
If you feel more satisfaction playing a low tier character good for you but, don't bitch and cry because you can't beat characters who you think are higher on the tier list. IT'S A FRIGGIN GAME WHY CRY OVER IT.
Playing higher tier characters is fun and challenging and only makes you better, I loved playing against Yun, Chun, Ken and Makoto with my Dudley, Urien, and Q back in 3rd Strike.
Repost: Sooo...CAPCOM nerfed an integral part of Street Fighter gameplay just so Yun and Yang could be even more overpowered?
SSF4 = SF3TSHDR
Good job!
