The UFC games aren't hard core, and blazblue is alright, but in most peoples opinions (including mine) not as good as guilty gear yet.
Blazblue is fun, Tatsunoko vs Capcom is pretty fun, and the MMA games are boring as hell. It's so slow moving and not flashy enough for me..
NO TEKKEN 6 GTFO There is noooooooo way that EA is better then Tekken nor is TvC this was rigged. I got no problem with SSF4 winning but Tekken not being in the running HELL NO
this really isnt much of an accomplishment. Theres nothing remotely decent to compete with sf4. We need a full line up like we used to get, virtua fighter, tekken, mortal kombat killer instinct(this one needs to come back), etc.
Damn TVC should have won. :/
Oh well next year MVC3 has this.
@#2:
MMA is pretty good. Very similar to the Fight Night games, as it uses the right analog stick to control how your punches and kicks work. Once the moves are mastered, and you fight against someone who also knows what they're doing, it can be extremely entertaining.
However, like any fighter, the online is plagued by lag and exploitable moves. Ground and submission fights are extremely abuse-able, especially seeing how most players tend to not train those skills during the Career mode.
BlazBlue is... alright. The first game, Calamity Trigger is pretty good, but the sequel feels like gigantic scam, seeing how the game basically almost forces you to buy the DLC-exclusive characters to get the full experience. (Or you can wait for the PS3-Japan exclusive Continuum Shift II which will include all the DLC characters right off the bat, basically a big "Screw you" to all the people who bought the DLC). Personally, I prefer Guilty Gear over BlazBlue.
UFC, after playing MMA, I can't stand it. It's a big huge button masher with really awkward animations and inferior controls by far.
Even though I sort of agree with all the love SSF4 gets and definitely feel like it had the right to win, It's gotten old for me at this point and I'd rather play the other two since they're just more fun... but they still aren't at THAT level.
Good thing none of this will matter in a little over a month :)
Seeing how SF4 single-handedly revived the whole genre last year and how SSF4 improved in every aspect over its predecessor, it's no wonder it won this. Blazblue and TVC are good but SSF4 is the most balanced game out of the three. Super was the biggest game in pretty much all this year's tourneys, big and small, all over the world for a reason.
Now the ball is in MVC3's court. Let's see if Capcom can take the crown for 3 years in a row. :)
Damn right! SSFIV FTW! it's only fitting since it's predecessor SFIV was the one (again) which revitalised the fighting dying fighting game genre in 2009! Looking for ward to 2011! Next year, it's really gonna be a tough call for the best fighting game for sure! I'm already rooting for SSFIV:AE!
Totally disagree... SSF4 won because of the hype... All Capcom did was add more 10 characters in game when they should had been in SF4 in the first place... Blazblue was the better game... Hands down.
SUPER wins.
