The narrator is the most annoying sh!+ i have ever heard on this world
cannot wait to play this on my xbox and ps3 oh yeah good times baby
@ #3: I find that people who talk s**t about 3S usually lash out at everything 3S-related when they more than likely hate the games community and not the game. 3S does have a somewhat elitist following, and that might rub certain people the wrong way, but those exist in every game.
That being said, nobody can honestly hate a game like Third Strike because it broke the traditional SF mold, had some characters that could crush the entire cast, or because it didn't have enough OG world warriors. Some may say fireballs and zoning became obsolete because of parrying, but that isn't true now, is it? Nope. It just changed your typical "corner trap opponent with projectile and DP if they jump over it" strategys up a bit. It's unbelievably fun to play, and watching high-level gameplay is awe-inspiring. The "worst" characters become viable in high level 3S.
But that also doesn't mean SF3 is better than SF4. Some may prefer the updated look and gameplay of SF4 and others may hate it. To each his own. I prefer Third Strike over SF4 because the gameplay's faster and usually way more action, and (most) of my favorite characters aren't in SF4. They're in SF3.
Man them japanese folk being extra hype on the mic is always a treat. Karakarakusa range on that ryu i had to pause it a few times to check that range, lol missed this game. Alex is always getting beat on makes me sad seeing how i main him and hugo.
SF3 is by far the best fighting game to date. I think its poor 'sales' were due to the fact that arcades were dying in popularity when this was released. Not to mention the only console it was actually released on was the DreamCast...
Its downfall is further based on the fact its got such a steep learning curve. Even really good SF4 players would struggle a lot with it.
However, once you do learn the game, its an enjoyable experience like nothing else. I don't know anyone who is good at SF3 and doesn't agree with me completely.
I think it has the best roster of any SF game too. Every character is very deep and you can tell a lot of thought went into them. SF2 characters are awful and bland in comparison.
I look forward to 3s OE so much.
Long live 3s.
Great matches! I can see why not a lot of people played this game compared to the other Street Fighter games; and even compared to SF4. It looks like it's a rather difficult game to master. And the parrying aspect of it is too technical and too is not casual-player friendly imo. That is also why I never really got into this game back in the day, since it was just too technical for my taste. Personally, I like sf4 much better and I find it more fun to play.
@20
Trust me, if you learnt to play SF3, you would not say that anymore.
I've had quite a few friends who LOVE SF4. I get them to play SF3, and they totally hate it. But i keep pestering them about it, and within a few months, they think SF4 is an awful fighting game in comparison to SF3. Which is true.
If you ONLY learnt one game and then go to another it's a given you will not like that game.
SF4 like any game takes dedication.
I won tourneys in SF3, Let's get one thing straight Parrying is NOT easy.
Another thing FADC is NOT easy either.
FADC is offensive based to give more damage
Parry nulls damage.
The secret to parrying is this there IS a timing for it and it's not too complicated. Parrying Chun Li's kicks is hard but there is a pattern you have to get you used to. Kind of like linking combos in SF4. Not easy at first but in the end it's second nature.
BTW there is a reason MANY sf3 fans did not like SF4 when they played it. It's a very different game. But as you can see here. In a good way.
