Tokido also added on his blog that TKD, one of the most notable El Fuerte players, has dropped him because of the Propellar Tortilla's (Run away, press Hard Punch) invincibility being removed/decreased, and has switched over to Balrog (Boxer).
• Dudley is better, but not top tier in SSF4 AE.
• He is only using Akuma's Ultra 2 against Rufus, but wonders if it's helpful against Boxer and Cammy as well.
• He feels that Gouken is pretty good now in Arcade Edition.
• Next time he uploads a video, we should be seeing Nemo's Yang.
yes more good yangs please and but i lost alot of respect for tkd. he was in it for the cheapness not the fun and loving spirit of fuerte. if he had played a bit more and he still can he will find out some of his buffs aswell
Poor TKD, I can't stand El Fuerte for sh%t, but watching a master like TKD using him even made him somewhat appealling to me. I hope you're happy all you whinning, lazy individuals that keep on calling for nerfs and ruining this game instead of putting in the hours!
Another great player bites the dust!
Man, do I detest the modern community. Just full of whingers, complaining trolls who put in about 5 minutes training with Ryu/Ken and then feel obliged to label what you can't beat as over powered. TKD was one of my favourite characters, and thanks to you pricks out there [you know who you are], What little Fuerte had in his favour is now diminished. Now I won't be watching one of my favourite characters anymore.
This happened with Gen on SF4. A bottom character getting complete combo nerfs on SSF4 and given new, weaker, closer range combos, not improving him in any way. RIP Yeb. You died along with the nerfs, and I very much enjoyed your playing.
I agree with @#4 , not enough people put the hours in, and as a result, do trash this game up.
Quite coincidental that Ken [a very popular online choice] has been heavily buffed. And although Ryu's lost priority on c.mk, Well WHAT DO YOU KNOW? L.DP trade to ultra once more. Scrubs can't handle easymode.
A lot of good games coming out in Spring. MvC3, MK9, Dead Space 2 and Infamous 2 are all the games I want to play. I'm going have to get the regular editions.
2 be fair. TKD was not known to use El Fuerte in Super only in Vanilla. That reason was BS.
Kai hated El fuerte in Super
And many people are saying he sucks just like I did however...

I noticed good changes too but there are more than meets the eye.
Hmm, balrogisascrub, I can't help but question your objectivity regarding Balrog, but I agree fully that more tournament players should main Dan!
I always love how the idiots on here blame the "Scrubs" who were complaining for these balance changes.
Like the Japanese designers sit around worrying about what a bunch of nobody's are saying.
Stop using them as a scapegoat. The designers do what they do for their own reasons not any thing else.
It's nobody's fault but your own if you decide to jump ship to a new character. But nobody likes to work harder as evidence of all the Sagat players still hanging around.
@keroberus2 hey man i wanted to message u about your disgust with the modern community, the game is getting re balancing which is good i main Akuma do u think i'm happy that a can't tastu out of corner..no not really but i have to deal w/it. Capcom needed to nerf El fuerte some; more like balance the game, have u even played a godlike fuerte player like TKD let alone Gi Pie.. waiting for your answer?...of course not. i have played against 2 really good fuerte players and they abuse the sh*t out of run stop fierce infinite combo (that combo is real bukllsh*t which can take 65 to 75% percent of akuma life a stun
#10 You can clearly tell that the Seth player did Ultra 1 right after Juri started her fireball animation, so not random at all.
Also it seems that you are commending Tokido on his Juri video since you stopped being sarcastic right before that comment.
@keroberus2 literally if u play a really good fuerte player which is very very few those guys...enough of this look up Poongko El Fuerte on utube and see the abuse of run stop fierce on opponents 15 to 20 times n a row all they can do is block while they are getting stun damage these "top" players like TKD switching shows how good they really are knowing they needed that bullcrap like many of vanilla payers switching from sagat bc he lost damage more like balancing his damage out put which was a good thing example 2 rhouses to uppercut to akuma (3 hit combo) takes 80% percent in vanilla....quit being a scrub and look at things with a clearer perceptive
other comments from tokido:
-Rose is dead in my opinion.
-I don't know strong chunli player in AE.
Interesting comment when we know how many chun haters on eventhubs find it's too easy to make wins with her.
Perhaps she only wins easily in usa...
And Rose, since invincibility has been removed on UC2, she seems pretty useless (not surprising), but then again her ultra was considered broken, she wasn't even top in the console version.
@balrogisascrub hey calm down tokido is not free and scrubby but i have to agree about losing to JR at evo that was pretty scrubby indeed....he is worthy of Godsgarden chill out man
@balrogisascrub anyways that evo lost to JR was months ago man and i realize anything can happen in this game meaning u can lose to ppl that u know ur more skilled then they r...it happens man
Anonymous clowns calling out professional players for switching because of noob friendly nerfs Gj shoto players.
@14
Pretty damn sure changes like "blanka now travels much less distance after a blocked blanka ball" weren't to please any decent player and DEFINITELY not any professional player who was intelligent enough to jab, get out of denial.
Nice to see other people in the community sick of clowns calling for unneeded nerfs.
Even though TKD is dropping Fuerte for Balrog, it really makes no difference. He's incredibly solid overall, so any character he picks up he'll probably be good with anyways.
Inoue's Yun is pretty nice. If I recall he was a Bison player, and he was really good with him too. Though, I am curious to see Nemo's Yang. I still the day they announced he was taking a break because I think he was getting married and deleted his card data. He was such a beast with Chun-Li.
Developers only do what they're told to do. It's the person that's instructing them (and whatever target audience he's catering to) that should be blamed for the nerfs.
Since good players don't need a trade DP into Ultra, who was it provided for? =P And yet other characters are weakened.
It was obviously provided for people who like to mash DP out of desperation. Not all adjustments are bad, some of them are just nonsensical.
@balrogisascrub
Put a plug into your vagina, Mr. Internet Tough Guy. Tokido's just posting what there is of AE so we can have a better clue and his opinion(though not definite) is valid considering the time he spent in the arcades. A lame brained scrub like you obviously doesn't see the merit of this. Keep thinking tourney players are free while you stay a nobody. Oh and if you don't know what one means by "Murderface" speaks a lot about your intelligence.
LOL @ #10, Tokido won Godsgarden #2 FYI : http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/ma...
#30
That's a face murderer. A murder face is a face you make like you're about to murder someone. Sad face, poker face, murder face.
I personally love him because he plays the meanest Akuma ever. And goes to tourneys. And sounds like a really, really fun guy.
All this bickering and fighting.. Shows how immature some people are... Jeez guys, it's Christmas. A time to be merry and a time for PEACE!
he's got multiple xcharacterisascrub accounts don't worry he will return honestly some of these nerfes are just mind boggling to say the least it feels like they were made just for Yang & Yun instead of handling bad match ups which many of us thought was the goal to reach better balance
Yes I thought some nerfs where needed but not to the level they took it to hell Zangief got nerfed bad with the EX GH but I'm still going to use him.
@16
how bout no more changes. i dont care if people find out Dan is god-teir in this game. i cant go through another change. leave it as it is, let the whiners whine and let the good players play. (did i spell whine right?)
@Catalyst
thnx was about to post to that guy. did you ban Bisonisascrub and blankaisascrub too? i dont know what it is but something about those two names makes me feel as if though they're connected lol
@ILL777WILL
have you ever finished Fuertes 5th (Vanilla) or 24th challenge? have you ever done it constantly? its a hard combo that only a select few can "abuse." and i dont think its fair to say its an abuse. Ryu players "abuse" DP to U1 this and that etc... but for Fuerte a combo that takes a really long time to master is an "abuse?"
How was an akuma player going to complain about fuerte anyway? Wow.
@46 A broken special attack or combo is a terrible disguise for skill. I never believed the more difficult a move is the more valid it is to use in competitive play, thats just silly. And you elf players should be mad at TKD, it's players like these you look up to for guidence and advice, but instead of maning up and dealing with the changes he changes mains because he lost some dumb invincibility. Seriously? Could you imagine Michael Jordon quitting juat after his rookie year when he started becoming famous because they changed one rule in basketball or something like 1 point for dunks? I could understand if he picked up a new character as secondary but just dropping him is as disappointing as the Sagat fiasco in Super. Stop making excuses guys and man up, keep playing your character.
While I see where you're coming from with Gen, I can at least tell you that the game balance and tweaking almost never starts with the idea "we should nerf so-and-so" (so Gen wasn't somehow targeted for being made weaker).
During the course of balancing, all the characters go on a bit of a rollercoaster ride of being stronger and weaker versions of themselves. For instance, the Abel that was shipped was one of the strongest versions of Abel that existed during SSFIV development. This wasn't part of a master plan, and there is no pre-set scheme to try and make the rankings look one particular way (like "Gouken should be #1, and Blanka should be 8th!"). When it came time to ship the game, Abel went out the door as a relatively strong version of his different incarnations. For Gen (always a tricky character to balance, given his large amount of moves, and unusual features), he was caught a bit on the lower side. I certainly don't feel Gen is somehow hopeless (and lord knows I've done my fair share of losing to him), but I see the issues and am certainly unhappy that a lot of Gen-loving players seem to like him less than they did before.
Quoted by Seth Killian...quit saying stupid sh1t about TKD quitting and capcom nerfing El Fuerte because people were whining. It doesn't work like that, morons.
@50
I think TKD did this move to show more than just winning a tournament. face it the game is being a playground for kids. if a kid doesn't like something in the game, they gather round and start complaining. I've seen a bunch of them here on EventHubs and other webs. TKD did this to show Capcom that the nerfs are unnecessary. they nerfed Fuerte in Super and he didn't quit. if they're going to keep nerfing his character, than hell let him switch. I'm sure you'd do the same, not to win, but to prove a point. and btw I'm not a Fuerte player. i just feel bad for those who are. especially TKD, you can tell he really liked his character.
@50
btw the move is not broken. if it is than you try it out in an actual match. i thought so.
It's funny how people compare TKD switching from fuerte to people switching from sagat in super. Sagat was the highest ranked character on every tier list. Fuerte went from semi-crap in vanilla, to crap in super, and now he's nerfed even further. If TKD wants to play competetivly, he's not gonna be able to keep up with fuerte. They decided to nerf the only thing that was good about him in super, and they gave him nothing remotely good to compensate. don't give me that jab crap, it won't affect his gameplay much

@52 But then again Seth Killain told a Gen user in his face that you will be pleased with the changes and it's almost 2011 and here we are no Gen users even Yeb the most well known dropped him. As much as I like Seth Killian he does kiss company well you know.
#56 thanks for the link!
Sucks for TKD that ELF got nerfed but why are ppl mad that hes switching characters? Its his personal choice. He doesnt have a contract stating he can only play one character so let him be.
Tokido, youre the man. Thanks for all the vids you upload.
Elf didn't need nerfs. But a decent Elf player online with even the slightest bit of lag can be the most annoying fight ever.
Maybe that's why he was nerfed.
El Fuerte really didn't need the nerfs he got. He's already disadvantaged enough in Super as it is, the damage reduction and invincibility reduction/removal a number of his specials got were completely unwarranted. Yes, Run-Stop-Fierce is by far his best offense, but one loop alone isn't enough to justify him becoming worse overall.
Now, normally I don't agree with players of any skill level dropping characters they've invested so much time into for another, but it's hard to say TKD wasn't justified in wanting to switch after the mostly negative changes El Fuerte got. It's a shame really, because there are so few notable El Fuerte players as it is, and now there's one less. :/
Damn my idol. I main el fuerte, and il stick with him in AE. But its hard to believe that he ll drop the character for good. They did say he has some good normals. Also people saying his loop combo is easy or should be nerfed literally need to hang themselves with those stupid statements. You wanna see a great elf fuerte player, play lordscuzzball17. Hes an awesome U.S el fuerte, player. Im decent, but my loops need work, especially on online matchs.
