Tip from ActRmx.
Gooteks is literally wearing the GREATEST. SHIRT. EVAR!
Idk Justin Wong loseing to Gamerbee was a big upset. Pretty good list keep up with the good work.
P.S Daigo fanboys are going to freak out.
Do Ross and Gootecks notice the arrow displaying their name points at the other person? Way to confuse new viewers guys!
You guys are dumb. This show is great.
I think one huge item that could have been mentioned was the huge amount of fighting games being announced guaranteeing fuel to the fires.
Ross and Gootecks. The arrogant ones also always the ones that are the most jealous. Seriously though can you guys keep your arrogance to a minimum? It's really starting to get annoying.
To the ppl calling them gay: Unless you're 13 you need to grow up. I apparently was unaware that 2 guys can't laugh about sh*t with each other and not be straight. Anyways... I think MvC3 and SSFIV will go neck-n'-neck with the number of entries. I mean while alot of comic fanboys and just general newcomers will pick this game up, how many of them will play it competively or even know what Evo is? I still think it will be close though as I see alot of SF players picking it up just for a change of pace and to tide things over until AE's release.
I love Sessler just know he can't hang when it comes to live commentary on a game he doesn't know especially the mindgames that go into the matches.
@Mike Ross
Extended Play, Tech TV let's GO!
@masterbkke
Stop watching dude, Mike can have a big head, Gootecks actually keeps his mouth shut about alot of achievements in street fighter 4.
@Number 1(the choice by Cross Counter)
Everyone can be blown up, I know Daigo was going to lose, Daigo knew, the point is he doesn't let that demotivate him. Kinda like Justin repeatedly getting his ass beat, he kept on trying.
Ouch for this year's most important thing in Streetfighting. . Then again, I think, were Daigo the kind of person to contemplate about the SF scene outside of Japan, he too would be aware of the significance of him losing his untouchable status. He might even welcome it, because it breaks open the game in people's minds and may give rise to a whole new batch of contenders.
Now, if only I could jump back a day, and add my prediction that Evo Online would be dominated by relatively unknown players.
Guess there's not much else for me to do than to find suitable words from Mike Ross, take them out of context, and make postdictions out of those.
Or I could just write his words myself, and claim those were his and that those were predictions.
"[..] those jumps make my skin tingle." -Mike Ross, 2007
Rosstradamus foresaw the addition of Spiderman to MvC3!
We'll make a proper Nostradamus out of you yet!
tl;dr version - nothing substantial, you can skip my post guilt-free.
It's unlikely that anyone here cares about pro tennis, but for almost a decade Roger Federer was basically as untouchable as Daigo's been. The last couple of years though he's been losing more often and people have been saying his reign had ended because the next, younger generation was coming in.
Just wanted to mention that, I thought the similarities were kind of interesting.
Also, I thought Mike Ross' Spooky impression was the best part of the video.
When they mentioned all the "game changers", I thought AE would take the number one spot because it is literally changes in the game. I was wrong. That's a really shortsighted thing to put at number one anyway.
One last thing: I didn't see any JSMaster vs Mago match. Wasn't that an older episode from Canada Cup?
Daigo has never been untouchable. Only noobs that started playing street fighter in 2008 think that. Daigo did so badly in 2006 that he quit playing video games for two years anyone remember that?
@12 It's called confidence, you know, something most people probably like yourself don't have because your so insecure about yourself that the smallest notice of any male bonding automatically regesters as Gay to you and you are quick to judge in order to secure your own masculentity. I mean I don't know, but to me these guys don't look like they go "at least" one month without some p***y if you ask me.
As for the Top 5 they seem about right, I think the Daigo Exposed was an over exaggeration though, any sane person knows Daigo is human and is capable of losing, I think Wester players (most of them) are just "getting it" and puttng down the time and dedication to become better.
I actually think that EVO Online/Newegg were pretty significant. These were really some of the first tournaments of their kind for fighting games and can be seen as the wave of the future. I suspect a lot more leagues/tournaments will be cropping up in the coming years.
@ 17:00: HAHAHAHAH that laugh should be a part of a remix of this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QLSRM....
