I'm from Canada, I used the 2 for 1 deal from the Gameshark store but shipped it to a friend in the states. After he shipped it to me from his house (56.25 USD shipping) the total came out to be about $115 Canadian per stick. So I guess it was an ok deal, considering Amazon.ca has the sticks on their site for 170 bucks.
Most of hori's sticks have the same parts as a madcatz stick except for the hori ex se.........so oohffsnotyou, I'm not sure what you're getting at?
Umm I thought all hori's come with square gates? Square gates are a japanese thing, americans tend to use octogates, which I bought one for my TE-S and didn't like the octogate much at all. I have 4 madcatz sticks, they've performed but the pcb does actually have a tiny bit more lag than a hori stick does. I want my next purchase to be a hori VLX, and an EX SE.
