A new guide for Yun in Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition has been posted here on EventHubs.com.He's very fast and his Dive Kick is still strong, letting Yun apply a ton of offensive pressure with few gaps, and setting up his damaging combos along the way. All of this offensive pressure helps him build up Super meter quickly, relatively, so he can unleash a Genei Jin and potentially do a ton of damage.
Yun's Genei Jin was actually strengthened from how it was in Third Strike, but since it's more difficult to build up a full meter in Street Fighter 4, and EX moves are helpful to his overall game, it's still balanced out.
To compensate for his terrific offensive capabilities, Yun has a low stamina (health) rating and his individual attacks don't do as much damage in comparison with most of the cast, so it's very important that you pull off his big combos.
A guide for Yang will also be posted in the very near future. Until then, it's still worth checking out the Third Strike guide for Yang as a lot of the information there is surprisingly relevant still.
Im guessing they will show Yang tomorrow then make the announcement on Friday. By the sounds of things lately it seems as though unexpected characters are gonna be in AE like birdie and eagle. If its true then maybe they're trying to save the more popular characters for SF X T and T X SF and give the less popular characters some shine.
well its not like sf x t and T x sf will hav an insanely different roster, its gonna b the same characters uve play in everyone of ther games, its jus gona b different havin the character gameplay wise, i mean i assume most of ssf4 characters will b present in both versions with the exception of mayb some new character. y give ssf4 crappy character jus cuz of a new game?
OK enough with the *other character want* talk. lets just talk about yun.
I wonder what they mean by genei jin strengthened. damage-wise? able to combo into ultra? easier to combo into? longer lasting? Cant tell from the early playtest AE vids cuz things have been changed up since then, but hopefully his super is rewarding because most characters in ssf4 dont even need or want use their own super that much. Its all about EX moves in this game.
i believe its both damage and combo wise, early reports say yuns genei jin retaind all of the combos from 3rd and delt about40% damage wen used...ON T HAWK!!! and i doubt they changed it much since announced. yun will b pro even against fireball spammers. also his palm move was said th build meter pretty fast.
I didn't really play SF3, so he is going to be a new character for me, like the other SF3 characters so far. Well, I hope they do release a console version of AE. I think Capcom is focusing on the AE release for arcades, and then maybe make an announcement for consoles.
He seems like a male version of Sakura.
I hope yun and yang come to home consoles because I really want try out yang and yun.
I still am hoping that Elena will make the cut. I would much rather have a character like her than a repeat of Ryu and Akuma.... I mean, really?! Of the whole cast of Street Fighters...... You put in two versions of characters who already exist? There are so many unique characters that could have been added to the game instead of another rehash of existing characters. What is going to be so different with a new Ryu or Akuma? Those two slots could have been given to characters that the community have been asking for such as Elena, Rolento, Hugo, Karin, and many others. I think it is fair to say that a large portion of the community feels we already have enough SHOTO characters in the game. I sometimes feel like Capcom caters to the "Fanboy Favorites" and not enough to the lesser known characters. I could be wrong, but don't feel as though I am. Either or, this is MY opinion. And because we live in the U.S.A., I am entitled to it;>)
i sometimes cant understand people, they always asked for characters that are not used and when they finally receive what they asked for they will still whine and bitch about it.
forget elena or karin.i will admit hugo alex urien oro or Q were pretty cool and unique but thats not enough for SSF4
@mrpavy because you are assuming that everyone has one voice... when one group asks for something and gets it... they shut up.. but then another group comes in and whines that what that group got is not fair or "ghey" but everyone thinks it's the same group somehow.. wtf.
Welcome to the interwebs
The fanboys are either being overly optimistic (the combo system in this game isn't exactly Tekken-esque) or Yun and Yang will be the new Sagats (completely overpowered, with no possible way to stop them once they get one hit in).
Either way, it makes me almost glad I'll likely never be able to play this version (I refuse to buy a console just to try out a BALANCED Street Fighter game, unlike last year's release).
I don't really think it's right to post a guide with information that might not be true. Unless the guide writer has been playing AE extensively then how does he know that Yuns dive kick pressure is good? For all we know his divekick might be useless for pressure ya know?
Can't wait to give Yun a test drive. Loved him in third strike and awaiting this iteration no matter if he is lacking his better self from third strike. Working for that win makes it all worth it.
So AE is comin' out tomorrow in Japan? I hope they immediately post some new vids up at youtube! I can't wait for new YUN and YANG gameplay footage!
@ 14.. Couldnt have said it better myself. I personally main with JURI. I would main Elena in a heartbeat and am sure there are many more who feel the same way. Personally, I would rather see Elena in over another Ryu / Akuma. Atleast she is unique and she gives players a different style of play other than fireball, uppercut, fireball, uppercut. I guess thats why I like Juri. Granted she could use some fixing up, but atleast you have to approach her a different way in battle. She may not be the strongest or fastest, but she is one of the trickiest characters. And that makes for a little more diverse battle.
It is all in how you play the character and what you are able to do with them. Rarely is a character truly "junk", but rather, how much time do you want to spend on trying to learn their pro's and cons. Granted there are characters like JURI, who could use some tweaking, but that doesn't mean that she is junk character. Same could be said of others.
Yun is gonna be a pain in the keister due to that Dive Kick. It was one of Chun Li's weaknesses in Third Strike so I won't be surprised if I'll be dealing with that when people pick Yun.
Csn't wait to chant "AYE!" every hit of the Genei Jin.
Yang and Yun videos tomorrow here: http://www.youtube.com/user/GAMEacho
Let's go Yang! Be better than Yun and make everyone forget he exists so you get in a crossover or two instead of Yun!
@25 lmao looks to me like ur a troll...dont know if im right cuz i barely post here, but u dont know nothin bout juri, so i suggest u shutup. cuz thats not the only buff shes getting, shes getting pretty solid ones. hopefully they also tweak a few hit boxes on some of her moves/normals, and give her throw invincibility on her ex pinwheel and she'll be set.
@ Shake3 -
I agree with you completely. Who cares about tier characters?? I mean really. I play the game to have fun not to be the best or to have bragging rights. I could care less if I lose. I mean, this IS a game after all. It does not make up my life. If I lose, that just means that there is more for me to work on. The only thing that gets under my skin is when people spam their special moves and then brag about how "bad a$$" they are. It takes more skill to be diverse in your tactics than it does to sit back and just spam move after move.
Juri is not a top tier character..... So why do I play her? BECAUSE I LIKE HER. The same could be said of other characters such as Elena (my personal fav.)that many fans are asking for. They LIKE those characters. Elena almost won a popular vote to be in the game to begin with. That speaks for itself.
@ Jakulagi..... I only hope that is true lol !
Elena is a well-liked UNIQUE character that I still hope is time-released or gets a DLC update. Elena was good in 3s and lots of people, myself included, are hoping to main her. Parries only hurt her in that game; she will be even better in SF4 with her pokes.
Don't know why there are a small minority of people that say they don't want to see Elena. Doesn't make sense. I can see one preferring another character, but no need to hate. Some characters that could have been added just aren't that unique, like Hugo (and looking at you, Evil Ryu/Akuma), but some people still like them.
I just hope that Capcom doesn't forget Elena. She was right behind the 3s characters that made it into SSF4, and ahead of Yun and Yang, in Capcom's own official poll on which characters people would like to see!
