Can we get a YouTube version. Vimeo sucks, especially for mobile.

(still processing but its online)
this looks great, when and where can I see it?
it sucks that console gaming has killed arcades in the US, too bad they can't coexist.
(Looking forward to this; need to know if there's any chance for arcades or something similar in the near future...
/wink)
Damn, those games look pretty cool (specifically the card one, lol). It's a shame that the scene died here in America. Really cool environment, not to mention a social gathering for the neighborhood's gamers. Oh well, back to playing online games in our room-caves.
If I lived in Japan I would go broke, I love the arcade. That's where the real people go to get their props. Not like today's world of gaming in the stated where "Gamers" go online, act like the points they get mean something and hide behind their lag tactics and talk sh!t knowing you'll never see them. Arcades man, I miss them so bad, best memories at the arcade, when you get beat by the local star and then figure them out and win. Only to get that look like "F*CK YOU" the best.
japan is dumb =/ thank god their population is declining.
This makes me want to go to Japan even more.
I worked at an american arcade for 6 years back when they where booming. Nothing beat the site of Super Street Fighter 2 on an 8 foot projected screen with rows of quarters across the top of control panel. There were so many people there they had to buy huge fans because it was like a sauna. Ah the memories.
it's a square-enix game called Lord of Vermillion II kind of like a diablo meets final fantasy card-based game. You can buy starter packs in the arcades and then with each play you get another card. Whatever card you put down on the table, that character shows up in the game (each card has an IC chip embedded inside) they all have unique stats/spells etc... you can buy the best cards at shops nearby and trade with friends. I have the guide book with more info if anyone is interested. (in Japanese though) A lot of Magic The Gathering PLANESWALKERS appear in the game for example. Lots of interesting characters.
this one looks like best of the documentaries that are coming next year.
@ bisonisascrub Really? only $1 a game is a quick way to bankrupt yourself? Sure it's steeper than the use-to-be typical 25 cents here in U.S. but all these games seem like top quality stuff.
I plan to go to Japan myself, the arcades & restaurants is where I'm hitting first.
some arcades are 100 yen for 2 plays Sf4. Some arcade games are not 100 yen game.
100 yen is more than $1 by the way, you will know when you go to Japan.
The arcade scene is mesmerizing, a social gathering where you know you'll get decent competition. Above all else, you're enjoying yourself.
The age of consoles and computers are here, so arcades must be on the way out. The closest will get to that is having consoles at a local event like some SF tournaments already do.
Though even if they existed now, I couldn't afford to go.
Living in Japan, I'm quite interested to see this documentary, would be nice to see how many of the elements mentioned in the doc I can relate to.
This documentary could have seriously done with less of that douchebag Brian Ashcraft though, seriously. Any chance I can grab a version with him edited out of it?
