• Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition is officially out in Japan now. Expect videos and additional information to come in soon. Some arcades in the states and else where will be getting it too. The arcade tracker on the site will be getting these new locations soon.
• Rumor: I've heard it from a few different sources that SSF4 Arcade Edition may have more characters to be revealed, and they'll be made available over time, like Akuma was in the arcade release of vanilla Street Fighter 4. This would extend the roster beyond Yang, Yun, Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma — but this is very much a rumor. There are conflicting reports saying that there are only 37 playable characters and Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma will only be boss characters, although I'm hearing more of the prior claims as of late. As with all rumors, it's always a good idea to reserve judgment until more is known. Thanks to Kenshin Hiroki for this tip.
• A Nesys card is being made available for SSF4 AE, which will expire on January 1, 2011. This card can be used to log in to the game, and it's kind of like a credit card which contains all of your game information. On Jan. 1 a new card will be made available that won't expire for a full year. Again, props to Kenshin for this information.
• Kenzo posted a video interview with Tokido, mostly talking about his strategies and playstyle using Akuma in SSF4. BerzerkDC also posted an interview with GamerBee. Submitted by Zanomaru.
• Mike Ross' big online match, which is a side thing to the Excellent Adventure series with Gootecks, is up now. The SSF4 match is from Newegg's Winter Wanfest tournament. Sent in by SavageFred.
Nah, I wanna whip out some double air fireballs against the shoto-whiners hahaha
If its just the updates, Yun, Yang, and two AltColors for Ryu and Akuma, and that keeps it free...I'm all for it. Too bad there will most likely be a purposeful delay on consoles...possibly not until conveniently after Evo next year...
The leaked achievement list only contained 8 new achievements for a total of 160 Gs, so there's still room for 2 more achievements and 90 Gs more. I guess that means that there could be one or two more characters. I won't get my hopes up though.
And Evil Ryu and Oni will be playable, at least in the console patch, why is everyone still saying otherwise?
i thought the vids for SSF4AE wouldnt come until the 18th?
@#19 twocoins,
nice! SSFIV AE unboxing pic, lol.
$1.00 to play a game you have at home and will update it to the version in arcades soon! Oh don't forget being surrounded by annoying smelly people!(well at least I'm ctf in NYC it smells like ass in that spot)
Seriously capcom should have done this before ssfiv came out to consoles smh they just love to rape the sf franchise. I'll wait till the console update Then after that we will have ssfiv turbo smh
off topic for a bit guys, I found this just now and thought I'd paste it here:
#mvc3 M. Bison was a serious contender for the Street Fighter villain, but Akuma was brought in to appeal to the Japanese fanbase. about 6 hours ago via web
from: http://twitter.com/JL_SqdSuprm
what do you guys think? Is AKUMA officially in MVC3?
^ shoryuken.com has something simliar about someone on twitter doing the same exact thing
@#26 Then it must be the same guy but i'm not sure. He's twitter name is JL_SqdSuprm I believe. He's also tweeting about how Sentinel and Phoenix are also there and a bunch of other stuff. I hope he's got a reliable source.
^kleenex was the original guy that posted but supposedly his twitter got deleted. I actually linked the info to the guys on here but it never got posted up. It all seem reliable this weekend phoenix and heisn ko were gonna be revealed then sentinel and Hagger are up next month and last will be akuma and taskmaster with galactus being the boss.
@TheMasterplayer here's the link

Lol Tokido said he doesn't even play Blazblue CS, only CT. And he still won the SOCAL Blazblue CS Tourney. Everyone outside of Japan is free :(
And now I gotta start doin that 26 hit combo with Honda!
Daigo interview about AE !
http://www.famitsu.com/blog/sst4/1240...
He thinks Gief is top 5 now !
I heard that Blaz BLue was really good. I never got to try it out. The blockbuster video where I live doesnt carry it. Is it worth the rental ? Lets hope that there is more than just the four previous characters announced. Still got my fingers crossed for Elena. *Cough until your eyes BULGE* lol
They brought in Akuma, another shoto to appeal to Japan. So Japan never gets sick of Gi's and Shotos. Meanwhile...
IBUKI was never even thought of?
There are no Ninja's in MvC3 she's the only, REAL Ninja of Street Fighter! (Geki from SF1 was never seen again, dont be smart!)
Amazing the people there who get paid for this kind of oversight!
She would do FIVE things!
Rep SF3
Rep Ninja fans
Rep Young Girls For Capcom
Rep a NEW Fighter for Vs. Games (Not ANOTHER appearance by Akuma)
Rep SHOCK VALUE in a good way for intrigue of how she plays!
@ 37
It's a great game. It is a lot more technical and harder to play. The combos for characters are very long, and there are a lot of character specific combos that can last from 5-15 seconds depending on the character.
I will say this. It is completely different than street fighter. The play style is so much faster than I could describe it as the complete opposite of this game. Footsies are important but it is an offensive oriented game.
If that's what you like, then it's a game you definately should try. Unfortunately, because it is much harder to play, it is not that popular in America. All my friends hate it :D
I doubt there'd be more in the Arcade Edition. The Street Fighter 4 Arcade game only had 16 on the Roster the Original 12 from 2 and the new guys from 4, in the console version we got 9 more. The AE is mainly a roster boost to the Arcade. From 16 to 37, it's almost safe to say we'll see Rolento, R. Mika, Karin, Hugo and a few others in the console.
@ Crisylinks77 & Malda -
Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. Sounds like Blaz Blue is a VERY different game. I didnt know it was so different from Street Fighter. I'm glad I didnt just go out and buy the game. I will try to rent it one of these days and test it out. Thanks again guys !
Mike Ross' big online match was a nice watch. Probably liked it better than the recent Excellent Adventures, despite its simple set up.
With SSFIV AE coming out in the States, i hope the arcade scene comes back alive.
If it does we have Capcom to thank, and the arcade owners for making that happen.
AnotherDfighter - It would be great to see the arcade scene thrive again, however I highly doubt it will. Street Fighter III couldnt revive the arcade scene while it was still somewhat alive. Now that the whole scene is dead, I highly doubt SSF4 can revitalize it. Now, let's say if they were to release a slew of great fighters like maybe, Mortal Kombat, SSF4 AE , and a new Killer Instinct.... That could be enough to draw fans back into arcades. But till then, its gonna be just a console scene.
I think America is too big for a revival of the arcade scene, and seeing how more convenient it is to save money staying home playing( gas and playing money)given the crap economy. And Japan dont alot of the population travel by trains or walking seeing how everything is more closely knitted and accessible. And us we have only like a few good arcade hub areas and which for the majority of the players wont have access too without having to travel long distances. And seeing how people like to cry about dlc fee which in general isnt much, they would end up spending more playing the game in an arcade in a day.
Yay First comment, but anyway i hope oni akuma and evil Ryu are just bosses.
