There's no way AE won't be paid DLC. If they release it in February/March/April it will be used at Evo just like Super was. Everyone always says that the leaks are BS, but the achievements for Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu, just like most everything else have been true.
Also, last time I checked Daigo was talking about how he plans to use Makoto or Yun in AE.
@ #1 - Probably shouldn't judge the entire show when you've only watched the first episode of the third season. Just sayin'. This episode is very different than the past ones, should give those a try before you just dismiss it.

AlSO ... I think they summed up the AE character roster debate pretty damn well. Remember the good ol' days when we all thought Rolento/R.Mika was for sure? I hope the haters are "evil" fans.
I miss when they used to take randoms matches, and comment and critique the individual player. then they started covering tournaments, which was ok (i guess). and now they don't even cover matches? Excellent adventures isnt really the same either. I don't MIND Peter, but when it was just ross and gootecks i enjoyed it more, with occasional appearances by marn, wong, etc. i'd like for them to go back to day one cross counter. and keep guests to a minimum, and simply as guests for excellent adventures.... And theres my 2 cents lol
oh and on the AE topic,i agree it would be difficult to resist, but i side with ross and daigo, it would be better to leave it alone.
@steele301 i agree man, and i hope someone is reading these. But remember its easier to adjust normals and specials, and reskin characters than it is to make a new one. yun yang=same character reskinned. although they play vastly different they are the same model. as with ryu, ken, dan, akuma, Evil ryu and Shin akuma (or oni or whatever)i hope theres more.. anyone really, tho id like karin and alex, and a few others. wow this got long winded lol sry bout that.

I have to agree with them on character selection, I still hope in some future update we get Rolento/Karin/Alex. Hell, I don't care if we could only get Rolento, we should petition that. Capcom will do DLC, it's money (which Capcom happens to like).
I think after Evo people will be studying AE more seriously. With the eventual coming of DLC and new characters, it will be necessary. But if this Evo is going to be Super, then staying on Super for now makes sense.

I agree with Mike. No one wanted Evil Ryu or Shin Akuma (well, almost no one). You read these comments on this site, SRK, IPW, etc, Karin, Urian, Alex, Elena, Roletno, Mika, etc. We want someone quine, original, even if they suck, we want them in there cuz we like them. I also agree that no one will play AE unless they live in the west coast or anywhere that doesn't have a major arcade near them. The only way anyone is going to play it is if it's on a disc or DLC. For all it's hype, not a lot of people are going to play it. Now that I think about it, I do feel kinda stupid for commenting on the changes to AE (and I bet so do some of you). I just hope that somewhere do the line someone says "AE is not the best version of SF4, lets make the best one", and maybe, just maybe we can see Karin or in my case Alex if not for just giving me the excuse to say "What ca gonna DO brother when Alex-Mania runs WILD on YOU" to online scrubs.
this was a very interesting cross counter and i never thought about the AE in tourney. If daigo says he's not gonna touch it then well... I bet this years evo will be super and by then ae will be out for everyone (maybe) and evo after that will be ae. And damn LA will have the jump again on rest of us if they get it 4 5 months before console..
It's funny how they take their opinions on Evil ryu and Oni Akuma as fact and that it represents what the ENTIRE SF community thinks.
The people that really want Karin, Rolento, and Alex are a minority and their highly regurgitated comments make them seem like a much larger group than what they actually are.
Lets all just wait and see if CAPCOM adds more characters to AE's console release.

i am tired that people bashing ryu/evil ryu. ryu is in all sf4 games from the fuking getgo. he deserves to be better!

I don't get the big deal about not playing AE... it will be out in the spring obviously, so there's really no point in not playing it and getting ready as it will be the established format for tournaments from then on.
And I am relatively excited about Oni Akuma and Evil Ryu as I main Akuma (and pretty much play him exclusively) so it'll be interesting to see how these guys turn out and if they can make them significantly different. I would like to see other characters ONLY so for friends that play who were hoping to see them (because I'd like for them to play even more!). Other than that, I won't play em, so I don't care.
Who cares about some stupid characters like Karin, Poison, Mika, Hugo or elena. Just a few people want them, but when Capcom puts them in the game, no one will play them.
I'm very happy with Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma. And no, I don't main Ryu or Akuma. But atleast these characters will be played with.
As i see it the only factor that is against Evil Ryu and even eviler Akuma is that people fear that they are gonna be broken tier again.. but why? Capcom invested so much time and effort to balance everything out (balanced sf ever? remember?), why should they throw in 2 (!) broken tier characters? They WILL be balanced and hopefully play different from the other shotos.. i mean ken and ryu play differently.. and they once were more or less the same character just with another outfit.

and yes, maybe the people that want elena, karin, rolento etc are a minority BUT they'r still more than Evil Ryu / Shin Akuma Fan Boys.. i heard NO SINGLE COMMENT about "pls add evil ryu / shin akuma, bla bla bla" i even heard (and liked the idea) of Birdie coming back..
well.. from the additional characters so far.. and taking the latest "tier list" as an indicator.. the highest new character is... DeeJay.. on place 19... i seriously dont know what you are all fearing about because 2 new characters join the game..
Chun li was broken in 3rd Strike, and once sf4 came out no one screamed "oh no wtf ?! Chun li again? she's broken! nerf that sh**"
Lol at comments about the minority want characters like Alex, Karin, Urien, etc... Look around...including here, every forum dedicated to SSF4 is complaining about these guys and the only people who want them happend to have a Shoto related SN and or avatar and it's like 1 to every 5 people who thinks this is dumb.
The real fans want new characters that arent buffed clones with a 1-2 new moves.... real fans of the series want variety as proven by this episode of Cross-Counter they even admit no one wanted to see them and they probably have a better grasp of the community than the other people thinking people want evil ryu and shin akuma.
The only people who want them are tier whores who think they will be S tier but then they could make any new character S tier but at least be different and they will still follow the bandwagon of tier whoring..and if these characters suck they will jump ship to the next character and in all honesty the small base of people who want these characters over any other new and more unique character are probably random scrub who can't play that good anyways.
