Both character are probably gonna work in this game. Both fast, have dive kicks, good pokes, good air priority what else do you need.

Oh and I'm guessing Genei Jin is going to be a super at which point it going to be guaranteed damage the same way it was in 3S.

This is a bit of a disappointment. I really hope they are adding 6 chars and at least 2 of them are karen and rolento. I much prefer the alpha cast over most of the sf3 cast.

Gen actually died inbetween the two games. What you see in Super is a stunt double who can't hit a mantis MK with his foot, or charge enough meter to compensate his limited tools. Heck, he can't even jump right.

6 characters = 3 3rd strike 3 Alpha

Alpha = Rolento, Karin, R. Mika why? Because thats the whole Alpha cast right there, who else are you gonna add?!

3S = Now here I can see you guys complaining but its probably gonna be: Alex, Yun and Yang.

Maybe there waisted slots and you can add characters the probably wouldnt work (Urien) or characters that would probably just gonna suck and you all would forget about them (Elena, Q, Hugo).

It really does not matter what any one says in the form of insults... They seem to be coming whether you like it it or not. You are not obligated to use these guys. They are just two more people to beat up on, if you are that good that is.

In my opinion, it really does not matter who they decide to release next, some of you will like them, some will not. I guess this will never end but it just seems as a waste of you life to be upset over this. There have been many things with this game many of you did not like but you grew up as a whole and got over it... more or less. Just stick to who you know and let the competition grow. :)

WHat i find hilarious about all the character requests is that nobody uses them anyway. People begged for third strike characters and they added them, but i go online and most of my fights are versus ryu. What happen to all the dudley and makato fans?

Someone would rather have a deliberate Guile clone over the Lee bros.? Oh my god...regardless, this doesn't mean both Yun and Yang are in as individual characters. It could be Yang is an alt costume/color like in SFIII:NG. OR like in CvS2 when during one of Yun's supers Yang comes in and "assists" him. Who knows? Yun and Yang are fun, well designed characters than have elements similar to existing characters in the game but can certainly stand on their own and be effective in the SSF4 system.

I was hoping for Yun/Alex/Elena for the new 3S characters, but Yun/Yang/Elena or Alex would be fine too. Let's hope Karin gets in though.

The fact that people want Charlie or any SF1 characters blow my mind. The SF1 characters that aren't in SSF4 already(Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Adon, Gen) are either ass or have been transformed into other characters effectively. Like Mike became Balrog/Boxer and Geki became Vega/Claw. Eagle and Birdie returned in other games as well, and they're fine but I don't want them returning over other characters either.

Ive got to say that IM SUPER excited that my boys YUN and YANG are coming to SSF4. I don't care if there bad for god sakes i main Vega. I mean from SF4 to SSF4 and play Dudley and have to say that ppl are bitching about the 3rd Strike characters because there not good and s--t. But thats because those aholes dont put the time in those characters. I have no problem beating Ryu's and Ken's with him. Plus my Friend mains Makoto and still kicks everyones ass with her. I notice that the people who would enjoy Yun and Yang are also the people that like mainstream hip-hop and juggling in the corner. Well, guess what?

No more top-tier Yun, that's done. No broken 3S juggles, no top-tier.

Also, Karin will NOT be in the game now. That would mean three of the 6/7 new characters will have Fei Long-style Rekka's.

So yes, call us haters for hating retarded characters, but don't complain when there's no Karin and you gotta actually use strategy instead of high-priority juggles for 90 percent life.

Man Ok if this is true I'm disappointed that Karin might not be in now even if she had a chance. If Ono gets his wish it would be Yun, yang, Rolento, and Mika. The other 2? Alex and Elena? More 3s for 3s fans in this update/DLC.

I would think that Elena would be in as supposedly she missed the cut.

Yeah people say they don't another rekka type character now are jumping on the fact that Yun and Yang might be in. Karin could be a more interesting choice at least for me. 1 of my favs since alpha 3 along with Gen whom I really hope they tweak him to be better.

Oh well. At least we get some more characters. Who know I might like the twins. I enjoy playing fei along with Gen, Makoto, and gouken.

I like how everyone is assuming that 6 character list is true. Considering the Alex and Rolento reveal was false, I would think so would that 6 character list. Hope its true, but everyone here should expect only 2 characters and anymore should be a surprise. I'd rather we get one of the twins than both. While I haven't played either of them, I feel the other slots should be alloted for more unique play styles. Still, people are jumping on the twins being guaranteed. I feel it may indicate the twins as a clue, but in fact be just one brother so let's wait it out and see.

Other characters I'm really wanting to try:

1) Alex - For the love of God get him in this freakin' game, Capcom knows he's the leader of 3rd strike and easily more popular than anyone else.

2) Elena - Well, we got an African stage. How about an African character? :p

3) Rolento - We got his Metro City stage and I know Ono said he just missed the cut, we'll probably see Rolento.

4) R. Mika - Again another Ono favorite, although I think Karin might be more entertaining since she's a rival for Sakura....I guarantee this character won't be used in online play at all (maybe like what, 2%? xD )

5/6) Yun/Yang, this really depends on whether the symbols indicate the twins being included or if it's just to prove that one of the twins are being added. For me it's too early to really judge it.

Also, Evil Ryu would be horrible. Only would that would make sense if if you could select Evil Ryu from Ryu's slot, it would be the epitome of clonage.

Personally, I'd love to have Yang in the game. His moves look sweet, but I can see why people didn't want both of them in taking up more slots. I think it's more sensible to limit it to one, as we can expand on the play styles.

And I do agree with the online sentiments, no matter who's added, 70% of online will be flooded by Guile, Bison, Balrog, Ryu, Ken, and Chun-li. Basically the classic characters are what we always see online...however, I've been seeing more new characters lately like Dudley/Cody/Guy/Ibuki/Hawk and I hope this trend continues. If we can influence people to use based on play style and not on tier lists or easy mode wins, we can make online a much better experience. Because honestly, who the hell wants to fight 1,000 Ryu's in a row? :(

Am i the only person who saw the dark karate gi and the red headband and nearly pissed myself with excitment for evil ryu only for it to be some other dude... ah well :/

Haha, looks like they are coming and you guys complaining can't do anything about it. If Yun/Yang are in or not I could care less what with 3S online coming out.

What I don't get is this sudden love for Mika. Nobody EVER liked her, nobody used her and she might as well have not been in the Alpha 3 because nobody would have noticed. Capcom put characters in who they think they need, not the most popular, if that was the case they wouldn't have put Hawk in the game because nobody likes Hawk. Mika is a fail character. If you want her in most likely you are a joke.

Similar thing with Elena. I remember when 3S first came out in the Arcades. Nobody used Elena at all and she wasn't worth mentioning, the twins were used way more than she was, to most she wasn't even a character worth mentioning. My guess is people just want her because she fights in her underwear. Besides there's still 4 slots so those 2 crappy characters may still make it.

I respect Alex and Rolento though, they were always awesome, I hope they are in

I have no problem with these 2 added, regardless of similarities between them and Gen/Fei Long/Rufus i think they are a cool addition and fit SSF IV's style like a glove:-) Besides we are all still expecting a total of 6 characters, i think it will be Yun, Yang and Elena from 3rd Strike and R.Mika, Rolento and Hugo from Alpha 3 which would be awesome!

One of the brothers would be fine, but both of them? It would be better to see yun then alex & elena. Chun-li, gen & yun (yang) would have the whole kung-fu section on lock along with Fei. Alex would bring his street style brawlin along with cody. Elena would bring that capoeria style to give a nice. All in all it would be nice & varied. You got your military style CQC (guile, cammy & abel), karate (the shotos), muy thai (sagat & adon), boxing (boxer & dudley) kick boxin (dj), ninjitsu (claw, ibuki & guy) & wrestling (hakan & gief). Adding elena & alex would add some more variety imo. Also rolento. Then again it won't matter cuz they're probably done & its gonna ship real soon so my post (opinion) won't matter.

Hey ummmm why are people saying yun and yang are the same people? Obviously you didnt play 3s because they had completely different movesets. Only thing they had alike was divekick and command grab. Adding them both will indeed keep the list varied. Its just like those noobs that say ryu, ken and akuma are the exact same characters. Yeah same 3 moves but you know damn well you can't play those three the same way. You pick up akuma and try to play him like ryu and you will see a big fat YOU LOSE on your screen.

Its quite ignorant to say that Rufus is the same as these two. So they all have dive kicks which is "similar" but not EXACTLY the same. Yun 'n' Yang have 3 different angles for their dive kicks which adds more confusion for their opponents. Nor are Yun 'n' Yang the same as Gen or Fei. 'oh, fei and Yang have rekkas and a flip over grab,we only need one' with that logic, lets just take out anybody else that has a hadoken like move.

I feel Yun and Yang are safe(r) options for Capcom, as between Gen/Rufus/Fei, all their moves are already in the game... Which is fair enough, you don't want the last patch to break the game... It may be boring, but if we are left with a broken imbalanced game after the last patch, that would be worse than getting interesting characters... If this is true, I can see where Capcom are coming from... Even if it does mean 1/7 or so of the cast are kung fu (also depending on whether you count chun, although she doesn't fit the SF/kung fu mold so well).

People don't seem to be complaining about too many grapplers this time, and asking for more shotos though... Which is a good sign... The shotos being much more similar to each other (Ryu, Ken, Dan, Akuma, Gouken, Sakura... Hell, Sagat, Rose... We don't need more characters with that template)... The grappler cast at the moment is limited but diverse... Bring on Hugo! (@halo; Hugo was in SF3).

And people don't play any of the new characters, because all ten ended up in the bottom half of the tier list in pretty much *every* tier list... Which, when you consider that is the bottom 17... And the 10 new characters fill that up... And there are intentionally bad characters like Dan... Doesn't bode well... It's not just the tiers either... I thought the SFII characters felt quite like their earlier counterparts... I used to play Dudley and Makoto in SFIII though, and let me tell you, Dudley and Makoto in SSFIV had a lot of their tools removed... We asked for those characters from SFIII, and they lost a lot in the translation... However, my one big hope for the arcade release of SSFIV is they fix the new 10, like they have done with some of the console characters in SSFIV (the Cammy, Rose, Fei treatment), along with Gen! Karakusa after Hyate anyone? Proper rose personal action? Hakan oiled up at the start of the match, safer slide, proper air throw/super, etc. etc. etc.... To re-stress my earlier point, yun/yang are easier to fit in, because a lot of those mechanics are already in the game.

I do hope they do take some chances though, I think a character like Elena would mix things up quite nicely... She wasn't high tier in 3, and Capcom would probably play it overly safe again if they added her in (read: low tier)... But it would be great to play in casuals... And I think people also miss that point, that they don't see character x in ranked online matches... I generally only play a selection of 5 online, but I play all characters, apart from about 5, in casuals, which I find both very fun to mix things up, and get some insight into them for when I do play them online... Just because you don't see them in ranked matches, or tournaments, doesn't mean they weren't a worthwhile addition to the game!

is to early to say, but in my opinion im looking forward to see Elena in SSFIV, probably it will be like SF3 were you could use yun or yang. for me there is to many kung fu based characters already... and dont even bother with the shoto's, it would be cool to see more styles... capoera Elena... heck even Q could be a nice addition since he has an awkward style... but having yun and yang...would be to much... hey if it happens... well i like those 2...but i would prefer Elena

Q was cool because he was stylish and his attacks were extremely brutal, especially his SA2. His normals had pretty good range and some of them had slow startup but did incredible damage. His standing FP took like 15% of your health. He could juggle really well and had wall-bounce EX moves.His only problem was the only normal that could be special or super cancellable was his close standing MK, which sucked.

That meaning is exactly why I used the word. I havent noticed ignorance's use popularity these days. By some of the logic being thrown around here, one could say that Rolento has the same knife throw as Ibuki and slide kick as her and Guy or whoever else. Then theres Alex that has a half circle grab like several other characters plus a throw maneuver similar to Hakan. So that means they shouldnt be put in because of irrelevant similarities? There as much similar to other character as Yun and Yang are. Honestly I hope for any set of characters besides Evil Ryu and Charlie for obvious reasons. Q, Remy, and Necro too maybe. They can all join the party after all the other more unique characters are added:)

"Yo they suck why would they add them." #4 just because you're fkn trash at 3rd Strike and can't use Yun and Yang, doesn't mean they suck, they obviously don't as I've seen many many many tournaments won with both of those characters. As far as Genei Jin goes, it won't effect the gameplay balance at all, there will be people who know how to use it, and people who don't know spit, same exact deal with Juri's Feng Shui Engine, there's people who can get 30 some hits in a combo using FADC + FSE, and then theres the rest of the crowd who gets 6-9 hits from mashing normals.

As far as I'm concerned, ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME WE GET YUN AND YANG, CAPCOM HAS ONLY BEEN TEASING US WITH THEM SINCE VANILLA CAME OUT!

Pro-Tip: It's not the characters that suck, it's you.

^That's not true at all by tier standings karin is played alot in alpha 3 she's top tier a grade S top tier. She's also played by casuals, mika on the other had i don't think so lol. With alex though no one picks him in 3rd strike because he's not that good and not as popular as the 3rd strike crew that already made the game.

I think it boils down to whether the Capcom Devs+ Producers likes the characters as well, not just the fans.

The following characters are what I want... well not want, but EXPECT to see.

I love Elena, I understand why people want her in. She's by far one of my favorite characters too. But simply put, I don't want her in this game. Seeing a 3D model of her would be nice but I can't stand the thought of seeing her get cheap KO'd to death, as SSF4's gameplay tends to do. I don't like the idea of her being on the recieving end of Seth's retarded ultra. They seem like pretty silly reasons, I know that, but still, that's just my reasons for not wanting her in. I care about her too much :(

3S Yun and Yang play nothing like Gen (pretty sure Gen's a part charge and mash character) and only a few similarities to a couple characters.

The only similarity they share with Rufus is the Dive Kick and unlike Rufus their dive kick only works from forward and vertical jumps, with Yang his slashes which work the same as Fei Long's Rekkakens. They don't have the same animation though. Yun has a shoulder similar to Guy's but it works entirely differently and is even a different input, their command grab can be combo'd from in the same way that Fei Long's does and they do share a few of the same moves as eachother (Command Grab, Dive Kick, Palm and a few normals)

Before anybody complains at these, they are played entirely differently, and see for yourself on youtube they don't play like anybody in the game now, yet both could fit in the system pretty nicely. And even if they do take up 2 slots (which hasn't been confirmed yet) there are still 4 slots for your faves to be in, and if your faves aren't in, don't cry, just play the game that they are in lol

2 Wasted slots for DLC chars. Rufus has already taken Yun's niche and Yang is essentially a faster but less stamina Fei Long with slight variation on moves. Why not add chars not always in the spotlight? Why not Sodom or Eagle? At least they wouldn't be completely repetitive.

Rufus doesn't have the command grab, the rising kicks DP, a custom combo super, the command palm/fake palm, or the leaping stab palm.

He does have the dive kick, the overhead, the launch kick (although it's a lot slower and looks dumber) and the Bend Palm.

Yun also has Guy's Hozanto, Yang has Gen's Kick thingy.

Overall Yun and Rufus are similar in dive kick only because no one ever uses Rufus's overhead. He really doesn't need it, Yun didn't really use it that much unless he was corner juggling either.

It seems that ppl blurt out "Yun 'n' Yang are the same character" without investigating for themselves to see if its true or not. Yea, in New Generation, they are the same character but in 3rd Strike they are different. Sure, they have some of the same normals but their special moves are totally different. Ryu and Ken are much more similar to each other(to the person who said ryu/ken = yun/yang.)

I hope they revise some SF1 characters like they did with alpha.

Let's start with Rufus...
NEITHER PLAYS LIKE RUFUS. Get over it. If you still continue to believe this, then you've obviously never played 3rd Strike. Yeah, they all have dive kicks, but as said, Yun and Yang's go in different angles, leaving your opponent guessing. Sure, both Yun and Rufus have the bend palm, but Ryu, Ken, and Akuma all have Hadoukens, Tatsumakis, and Shoryukens!
I can see why you guys would compare Yang to Fei Long, but again, they're still different. Fei Long doesn't have Yang's dive kick, Shaolin Palm, that rolling kick, etc.
As for Gen, they only thing they have similar would be Yang's rolling kick, and even that's a bit different. Gen doesn't roll and Yang can't continue kicking after the hit.
All you guys complaining about having the same characters are not using logic. If they're so similar, why do we have Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who have literally the exact same moves? CUZ THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STYLES. Get over it!

I also agree with what some of you guys are saying here. How many people who wanted R. Mika actually used her in Alpha 3? How many people who wanted Elena actually used her in 3S? I feel like you guys are complaining about wanting them in are just doing it to be "cool." Get over yourselves, people. Jesus Christ,

Everybody that says Yun 'n' Yang are the same must be thinking of NG lol. I didnt think Dudley was really more of 2I, its just that Thunderbolt move was replaced with Short swing blow in 3S. Now hes got the best of both world:). Though hes my main, Im still too chicken to use the thunderbolt. Great for crossing them up when your opponent wakes up, but if its blocked, they've got a bajillion frames to counter-attack lol. I didnt remember it having so many recovery frames in 2I :(

I'm happy they at least added Yun, and the logical choice would of been Yang. They do have some similar moves with other characters but so did all of 3rd strike. They were hybrids of older characters. I'm sure it will be fine hopefully they don't screw it up like they did Makoto. They will probably give them some variation of moves or even add a new move. Like Sagats stupid angry charge. lol. I'm sure it will be fine and just because they are adding 6 now they can add more later. This are a decent choice and I think they will fit well in the system since they have characters with some similar attributes in the mix.

Here's my hypothesis, now that the twins are almost definitely confirmed:

Since the rumors say we'll be getting 6 new characters, I'm gonna guess it's three from SF3, and three from Alpha. I say this because it's pretty clear EX is out of the question, and they didn't bring any characters from SF1 for Super.

This means there would be one more SF3 character to be revealed. I would guess that it's either Alex or Elena, if only based on the fanbase's clamoring. Seeing as Alex is SF3's poster boy, he'd probably be more likely to appear than Elena.

Then that leaves three more, presumably from the Alpha series. It is my personal hope that they will be giving us Karin, Rolento, and R. Mika, which are also the three Alpha characters who fans seem to want most. While Birdie and Sodom are also entirely possible, I recall seeing a lot of fans asking about the aforementioned three on Ono's Twitter... So Capcom knows they're wanted at this point.

That's all I got to say. I don't care to hear a thesis statement either. FACK YOU Capcom for not putting in ANY of the highest requested characters such as Rolento or Elena. Why are people taking this as if they took Yun and Yang and that's it? I'm glad that this sign showed up, I didn't like Adon, Cody, Hakan,Dee Jay, or T. Hawk, but I still just accept them. I wanted Yun and/or Yang to be in Super when it was coming out, but I just brushed it off as "oh well", you guys can't do that? @tokyobassist I'm guessing you're trolling too. Chun li is my main since vanilla when she was mid tier. She was actually nerfed a little in Super. Anybody that thinks she's cheap is just an ignorant scrub. She does a less damage now, some of her attacks are slower. She isn't an easy character to learn either. Sagat had a reason to be hated because of his BS damage output and his options. Super isn't that old yet so those tier lists mean nothing, not like they really meant anything in the first place.

From what a friend was able to get out of it, it says that Capcom released those silhouettes of the skates and board as a hint. That's all he could really make of it, but I'd assume it's saying something like "This could mean it's Yun and Yang, characters who have rollerskates and a skateboard". You know, stuff like that. The point being, the silhouettes were revealed by Capcom.

I loved my Alpha days, I used Rose, Sakura and Karin, so if they were to include Karin in the Arcade release, Capcom can rest assured that that least ONE person will fully appreciate it, so don't anyone say that "Oh, no one will use Karin blah blah blah..." ABEL = almost identical alternate costume. Logic would state that this was done with some pre-thought, like Guile receiving Charlie's costume as an alt; so that in a way, they could be played through other characters.

1. First of all, *ahem*... *KARIN. Also, Fei Long is definitely different enough from Karin to warrant having them both, not that it matters to Capcom, since they've added the twins when they have Gen/FeiLong.

2. Your logic is faulty. Blanka has a costume that looks like Akuma's, and Cammy has one that looks like Bison(Dictator)'s. Sakura has a costume that looks like Ryu's. I shouldn't have to tell you that Akuma, Bison, and Ryu are all also in the game. There's nothing stopping Alex from appearing, although I wouldn't care if he did or if he didn't. So uh yeah, shut up.

Well i'm surprised that the twins might be in. Still not confirmed but hinted at. To me it was unexpected.

I recall many of the blogs mentioning that they wanted more interesting characters with varying styles. Yes Yun and yang each have nearly identical moves but it stops with their special moves and supers. They don't play alike at all and I have never played 3rd strike consistently enough. I've seen it on youtube vids etc. Tehy seem like quick aggressive characters that would be welcomed in the more defensive SSF4 style.

Karin coul be that too. Love the variations of the rekka its not all QCF punch, QCF punch, QCF punch. there are some kicks that can be thrown in there to confuse opponents blocking, just love here style.

Elena would be new and interesting as well. The reason I like her is the animations and interesting use of all kicks in her arsenal.

Rolento is widely sought after. Seems like and excellent keep away character with pokes and confusing rolls and jumps.

Mika? Hmm not interested but I think players would like some type of female wrestler.

Alex? iconic to the 3S series but I'm not sure another grappler is necessary. i would be interested..

Hope Karin , Rolento and Elena are added next.

So far my Favs in SSF4 are Gen, makoto, guy, Abel Fei, and gouken. love the variety of style these characters have. Can't wait to find out more about the coming characters.

Yes~~ thank goodness these two have a chance of getting in the game. I didn't take the time to use them in 3S but ill gladly try to main one of them in SSFIV.

Now Yun and Yang, Let Capcom do their thing, remember Super Street Fighter 4 might be the last game in the street fighter 4 series, cuz this game is developed to do tons of DLC, so im sure capcom will continue to put tons of characters if the fan demand continues, which good enough it will.

If Yun or Yang are in, then it will be between Elena or alex. Cuz its pretty much looking to be three Third strike and 3 alpha characters. I would prefer Elena just cuz the more girls the better, alex is cool but if its the sake for more girls, then it would be better in my opinion. Like some persson here posted they might be three girls, three guys so it can balanced out. Its looking to be like this

Third Strike: Yun, Yang, Elena
alpha: Rolento, Karin, R. Mika

Hey I'm just speaking my opinion about the game. I believe it or not thought Chun Li was top tier next to Bison a while before those tiers were released. @tokyobassist I wasn't really saying trolling in your case was a bad thing. Some people just do it because it's funny. It just bothers me that some people think a tier list determines who is overpowered. It made more sense for Sagat because of everything he could do and how much damage he did. Chun li is nothing like that, she's much more of a balanced character. Very good in all sorts of situations, but you can't say she always has an advantage in every situation. If she has any advantage, its just a little. Sagat has some 7-3 match ups on his list in SF4. Tier lists, if you really think about it, are opinions of many players (or few, I guess it depends on who it's from). But tier lists are pretty much what people think about those characters, no absolute facts.

To all yun/yang haters on this forum, do u rwally think theyre overpowered, or are just going with the flow of other ppl and just looking at the tier lists? Have u guys even played 3s to even begin to bad mouth them? They have weaknesses like everyone else, there weaknesses being really bad for them. They have low health and stamina, so going against a powerful balanced characte like ryu and ken is a hard matchup, sure there fast and offensive, but they can be punished harder than the other characters, plus they are close range fighters, they have to get in to fight properly, so again, hard hitters and projectiles can keep them away even if they can parry it, plus even the slightest mess up will make u lose a lot of health, plus, u want overpowered, try beating a very skilled chun li without using a fast fighter like yun and yang, then talk to me about them being overpowered

I agree that a lot of players build their opinions on a collective agreement but I'm not that guy. I feel Chun's various normals are far too goof with so many safe options. s. MP, df, RH, her df LK, her super safe jumping instant RH overhead. I'm partially pissed at the disadvantages Guy has against her but its also due to the fact that she's ALWAYS had good matchups from ST to 3S. I'm sick of her man lol.

And explain to me why she's has the stun rating of a tank?

Capcom adds SIX new characters to PLEASE the fans, beyond the 35 that alreadey compound the roster, and what do the fans do? Instead of appreciating what Capcom thinks that should fit better to the game, they just criticize! I wanted too much some of the EX characters too, but I know there are a lot of other ones that have much more priority, and I think Capcom uses to make almost always correct choices, and appreciate it.
So stop being so annoyingly exigent!
