Capcom's Yoshinori Ono recently stated that the arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4 is nearly complete. This project was announced back in very early April 2010, and development on the console release of SSF4 was finished in late February of this year.Is there any chance of having an Upload to YouTube option for SSF4 replays in the console versions of the game? — HiRisk808
Ono: I want [that option too]!!
Is there any news on Street Fighter 3 Online Edition?
Ono: [It's in development now]... Please wait. m(_ _)m
[Editor's note: The emoticon m(_ _)m is referred to as a 'kowtow' as a sign of respect, or 'dogeza' for an apology.]
What can you tell us about Darkstalkers 4? Has it been approved yet?
Ono: I wish [to] make it! Capcom [hasn't approved] it yet.. ;(
Will we ever have a new Darkstalkers. Maybe this year you give us news?
Ono: I want more signatures. Please. Please. Please!! m(_ _)m
Capcom should buy SNK / Playmore and then make Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2.
Ono: Hahaha, what you're asking is impossible. ;D
Can you bring Puzzle Fighter to the iPhone?
Ono: [I'll] tell it to iPhone's director. It's good idea!
can't wait till SSF4 hits the arcades.
if the rumor about 6 characters is true, probably 2 characters from the past SF games will make it in the roster.
alpha 3: karin/rolento
3rd strike: yun/yang
and 2 from either the original SF or 2 from the EX series
Capcom should buy SNK/Playmore and make Garou 2. and maybe SSFIV model of Terry?!
I hope Necro is a potential candidate for ssf4, his style seems like it would fit that engine, same with Alex, but thats just me dreaming and hoping
Let's see if I can help:
1.) The EX series is a done deal. Over. LET IT GO.
2.) People begging for SSF4 PC: Buy your games like the rest of us.
3.) THE EX SERIES IS A DONE DEAL.
People need to stop asking for s**t on the goddamn Iphone.
You wonder why there's no PSP ports or attemps fro Capcom to branch out to other franchises, that's half the reason right there. The other half is dumbasses who thought Tekken X Street Fighter was even warranted when not a damn person was asking for it. Everybody either wanted Darkstalkers, Alpha 3 HD remix, Rival schools or CvS3 way more.
Because Ice9 speaks for everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY.
Go sit in the corner.
The EX character requesting is getting old. even people who should know better (web site interviewers) ask. akira owns the right to all of those characters, like # 9 says LET IT GO!
also,I really hope yun and yang aren't the chosen 2.as much as I love them, their staple moves are already being done by gen. on that note. the request for sf1 characters isn't likely either seeing as how Adon Sagat Ryu Ken Boxer and Gen are all originals from that game, so more or less you are making alpha request twice.
finally I think Rolento is a shoe in due to the fact ono said that the metro city stage was made for him, but adons popularity barely beat him out. the game is command grab heavy but alex is the face of the new generation cast. so I think those 2 are the obvious picks. just wait a little while longer and we'll know for sure.
Arcade:
-Returning: R.Mika , Hugo , Rolento (second costume, Eagle's suit) , Elena and Alex.
-SF1: Either Geki or Retsu
New Character/fan service: Possibly the Karate clown - http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/K...
or
Rosanov - http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/R...
or the boss from Seth's intro
-Secret character for Arcade fun: Shadow, modified Charlie with palette swap on home console.
-New Stages: Beach (Jamaica) , Alpha final stage plains (East Europe) , Wrestling Ring (America)
*Arcade will be able to play online with other machines and will have purchasable cards to upload your fight style and match data to the regular arcade game for other's to fight ala' Tekken 6.
comment if you agree!
Rolento and Alex seem like given's so for the love of all that is good put Elena and Karin in. Elena's style is just too sick to pass up.
Sigh... ok, I'm sick and tired of this "I want this guy" stupidity it has become. I was nice at first, but now it's so old, dust is coming out of it's nose.
Look, here's a suggestion for ya: Street Fighter ALL STARS. Here's the idea, take the CvS format (3 vs 3) but with every single SF character... EVER (that Capcom owns, sorry EX fans).
ST (Ryu, Ken, Honda, Blanka, Gief, Sim, Chun, Guile, Hawk, DJ, Cammy, Fei, Bison, Sagat, Vega, Rog, Akuma)
Alpha (Nash, Sodom, Cody, Guy, Rolento, Mika, Sakura, Karin, Gen, Birdie, Rose, Adon, Dan, Juli, Juni)
3S (Alex, Dudley, Makoto, Ibuki, Elena, Q, 12, Sean, Ramy, Hugo, Necro, Yang, Yun, Oro, Urian, Gill)
and 4 (Abel, Viper, Rufus, Furtre', Juri, Hakan, Seth, Gouken).
That's 55 characters in ONE GAME (Not including SF1 and the Console/PSP version of Alpha, who I would include anyway). Come back to me went Capcom makes that game. (and yes, Adon would still be in, even though I hate his guts, there.)
yeah the comment sayin rolento mika karin elena yun and alex sounds close to what i would think but i dont think they would put yun and not yang i think those 2 will def be in cuz adon was in sagats video in vanilla sf4 and both yun and yang were in chun-li take out mika or karin and put yang
@#23 i agree with the stages. would be nice to see the old SF2 stages remade
@#28:
It's not exactly a secret that SF IV was one of the most pirated games last year, at the least.
Most people want a PC SSF4 so they can pirate it all over again.
Of course, not every PC player is like that, but the good have to suffer for the bad.
#15: "The EX character requesting is getting old. even people who should know better (web site interviewers) ask. akira owns the right to all of those characters, like # 9 says LET IT GO!"
I believe you meant "Arika," and perhaps you didn't know that Arika was founded by ex-Capcom employees with whom they still have a good working relationship. While the abundance of Street Fighter characters for whom no outside dealings would be necessary means that EX characters are not a great likelihood, neither is it remotely unlikely enough that it isn't a reasonable question for interviewers to ask. A case could be made that EX characters are more likely to appear than characters from the original Street Fighter who appeared nowhere else but that game.
@Clover4Lyf: What? Lol.
Now onto a more serious matter
@31: What do u mean by the good will suffer? If u sayin there's not gonna be a pc version, ono confirmed awhile back there will be a pc version, read it in this website somewhere.
@29: i second that, would also love to see more rival fights for everyone else, like dhalsim vs balrog in vegas with rog's theme blastin in the background for the tension between there rivalry, or gouken vs akuma in the field of grass with a full moon where they meet to fight over ryu's unconscious trailer, idc which song, it'd be so epically epic either way!!!!!
PC should come out when arcade does since its the same system anyway.
@Yudhiyou:
The skateboard and skates are fakes. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/au...
I'd personally like a London level included for Dudley/Cammy, and also the big field stage with day and night (lightning storm) where Ryu fights Sagat.
Would also be a good idea to give T-Hawk and El Fuerte a Mexican stage.
@36
Why worry about SSF4 being pirateproof?
Most fans with a console already bought it (heck, alot of xbox players probably downloaded it..) and the people without a console will buy it to play online (since I'm sure most people don't have an active scene in their area).
Besides, also alot of console SSF4'ers will buy SSF4 so that they have it on the go (not to mention that online SF4 was better on the pc than on psn XD)..
@ 50
I agree, a London stage would be amazing - plus they could add Birdi too XD
@ 55
"Why worry about SSF4 being pirateproof?"
really?
its simple
if the game can be pirated less people will buy it, the less people who buy, the lower the chance of another being made.
hence, why people have to beg for a pc version now.
I personally want capcom to make as much as possible off this game so they can make more fighting games and not think its a dying game genre again which is why SF4 took so long to happen
@62
You know that PC SF4 also break the seeling expectaions that Capcom had? If not then your ignorant...and why do you blame PC users for Cap thinking that fighting game genre was dying...you know SF3 didin't come out on PC...neither CVS1&2 or MVC 1&2...if Capcom want to make the fighint genere popular(wich they already did)they will come out whit SSF4 PC(i am sure of this, but just after arcade releas)
I want SSF4 PC beacose SF4 was so damn good on PC,better graphics,mods...
PS.Sorry for my poor english
At #64/ Meety
When was it said that Alex was wouldn't be in SSF4 and that Karin would? All I've heard so far is Rolento, R.Mika, Hugo and Elena were some of those who just made the cut.
I haven't heard anything about Yun and Yan since that rumor (which ended up being a fake)
i agree with Ice9 (#10). Over 49958 People didnt sign my Capcom vs. SNK 3 petition over SFXTekken. Well i wouldn't mind another Darkstalkers or Rival Schools game, but I'm starting to not to want SFXT anymore. The freaking game is not gonna be out for 2 years. You guys cant just sign my CVS3 petition over a game thats not gonna be out for another 2 f*****g ywars? Geez you guys act like if you guys sign it they're gonna cancel the game. The game is coming out in 2012, you guys cant just sign for another Capcom vs. SNK 3 Game in the mean time? Here's proof of one person not signing my petition
"NO GAME SUX no sign sorry waiting for capcom x tekken". This person said it on youtube. this is not a lie. If you guys want Capcom vs. SNK 3, sign the petition at this URL,
@52
Those stupid silhouettes used in the character slots don't mean anything. They used those same pics when the three 3rd strike character slots hadn't been filled yet. I think that is just their way of saying we have more characters coming. I wouldn't look into that for your character predictions.
Why would Capcom not approve of a DS4? That's... ridiculous. Sure, signatures can prove that people want it, but C'MON it's freakin' DARKSTALKERS! Who wouldn't want another DS game? I want to know right now, and your reason for it.
Keep in mind, ES (Powered up special moves) was invented in Darkstalkers, so the amazing powered up EX moves in Street Fighter 3/4 should thank Darkstalkers for that, and Morrigan was the first to use the famous Super combination for her Darkness Illusion, that later was used for Akuma's Shun-Goku-Satsu.
If you don't want another Darkstalkers, here's your chance to explain why.
Make it pirate proof, package it with a chastity belt for all I care just BRING IT TO PC!
@ 63. at what point did I say pc users were the reason capcom thought fighting game were a dying genre?
anyone who actually reads would know capcom thought that was due to the death of the arcade scene in the US and the *COMPARATIVELY* poor reception of the SF3.
like #65 said, capcom made a pc version and people pirated it, A lot of of people pirated it, even if it did break sells expectations, every pirated copy is a revenue lost for capcom.
the revival of the genre would have happened all the same with or without the pc version of sf4, i think. and I'm betting capcom feels the same way, or at least, that it's not worth the risk until they can prevent bootleg copies.
so to end my rant, to all the people who pirated that are crying for a pC version, when you bootlegged SF4, you became part of the reason you have to cry for it now
Didn't capcom say when they announced super that they wont add dlc characters to vanilla because people that don't have online they wont be able to play as them? There's really no point of an arcade version if the characters will come to home consoles. It would have made more sense if capcom released an arcade version first and then gets ported to home consoles like they used to do years ago in the sf2 days and give us all the content at once. Still im happy the way super turned out especially at the$ 40 price
KANYEWEST HACKED MY POST!?!?!?!?
I MUSTA BEEN ON TO SOMETHIN TO HAVE YOU HACK MY STUFF
(MY ORIGINAL POST)
Mayn i have a pretty good guess or obvious
one....whatever...
the new characters will be
*Karin(most requested)
*Rolento(Ono's pick)
*R.Mika(Ono's pick)
*Yun (recently most requested)
*Yang (recently most requested)
*Elena(supposedly miss the cut in the original SFIV cast)
the only names i've seen repeated A LOT. From all these things like Ono's twitter and how ppl keep hypin' them up. Thay're gonna put them in for sure....And for all you ppl who want more dumbass characters like :Q , Sodom, and clone characters like Charlie (nash)and Remy.....come on....i've never seen anyone seriously win wit Q, Sodom ect...and for Charlie....seriously whats the difference between his moves and Guile's Like really HIS HAIR DIFFERENT!??! HE HAS STUPID NERDY GLASSES!?! or is it his ONE ARM SONICBOOM!?!?!
I sware i didnt mean to go on a rant there but lookin at pplz requesting thing like that is hella annoying....
so yeah kanyewest your crazy mayn......log into my posted again....i dare you...
@75 "Most requested", Karin? Are you kidding me? The most requested are Rolento and the twins. Hugo, Alex and Rainbow Mika are probably going to round that out.
Karin's the most requested character? Where did you see that? According to the polls Elena and Alex were just as far up on the list, so it's not a supposedly, it's a that's what happened lol.
Second, Yun and Yang being most requested now doesn't mean anything. These characters have been in production for a while if they're going to be out for Arcades so someone being popular suddenly wouldn't mean anything lol.
If anything it'll be Rolento, Hugo, R.Mika, Alex and Elena. People who have been all on Yun and Yang is just not as likely because Ono hasn't mentioned them once. I'm not saying they won't have a chance but come on? Do we really need both of them. I'd say if anything you keep Yun since he's the more iconic, no need to waste space on both of them. Yes they play different, yes Ryu and Ken are both in the game but Ryu and Ken are iconic characters.
Anyways, people are in chaos because there hasn't been any kind of rumor list that's been widely followed so that's why everyone is going Gamefaqs on these threads.
As for the PC debate, jesus both sides need to get over it. Pirate-Bay kiddies need to accept that companies don't like when you pirate their stuff, you don't hold out a lightning rod during a thunderstorm and throw a fit when you get fried, right? As for those who are anti-pirate, you need to realize that not everything the companies do are based on how much the game is pirated. You need to get off your high horse, and you need to stop saying things as stupid as >>PIRATE PROOF<<. Nobody needs anyone else to go and rub the lack of a game in their faces. They pirated it, they don't have it, we get it. Stop beating a dead horse as annoying as the Pirate's.
Xboxers might like that microsoft improved the D-pad in case you use the crappy default pad.
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/20...
In the mean time I still want Super for PC! PC FTW!
@61: I totally agree with you. Though I would hope that SNK Playmore goes under once more so that Capcom or some other company can obtain their IP's so that they can bring out greater games &/or greater sequels. So far, the only greater game that they're bringing out right now is KOF XIII (which is being a much more improvement over XII). SNK hasn't been the same since they first went bankrupt & that Playmore have obtained their IP's.
I'm not expecting Darkstalkers IV before MvC 3 comes out. I believe that Ono would do it IF there's enough demand for it.
@63 (& for everyone else wondering why there's no PC version of SSF IV): SF IV for PC was in the top five pirated games for that platform.
http://news.softpedia.com/news/The-Ye...
It may have sold well legitimately, but it didn't make enough of a profit to convince Capcom to release it for the PC right away or even a few months down the line. It got pirated more than it had gotten sold.
If anything, blame the pirates for not releasing SSF IV to PC. Plus people wonder why companies either don't bring out any more games to PC or that 3rd party developers like Ubisoft are punishing the legitimate owners for something like DRM for games like Assassin's Creed 2 (in which you're required to be online at all times in order to play the game).
Clovr4Lyf, just STFU you troll.
Capcom stated that SFIV exceeded sales expectations on the PC. Yes there were many pirated downloads. But it does not differentiate between actual PC players and console players. I know a LOT of console owners who BOUGHT the game for their console, but PIRATED the game on the PC just so that they can have fun with the mods. So stop with the high and mighty attitude some of you console players seem to have. Also, if you think XBox i pirate proof, you are just an idiot.
All of these platforms need original games to play online, which is the best part of street fighter.
Geez, your ignorance day in and day out is just tiring. Next you'll be blaming PC players for Global Warming.
Hmm i don't think that Karin was the most requested but I recall blogs mentioning that Karin was popular among some of the developers.
I would like to see Karin, Elena, Rolento and Alex. As for the other 2? Hmmm 2 more fighters from any series would be fine. I would just like to see the 4 I mentioned.
Yun and Yang? I never was a fan of theirs.
Oro would be interesting although not popular. At least it would be welcomed by those who like to play charge characters.
I'm not an big fan of charge characters other than Alex and Gen who aren't primarily Charge characters. I just like both of their styles. Especially Gen.
Capcom has stated that PC sales of SFIV exceeded their expectations even though it was pirated.
What you people seem to be forgetting is that in order for fighting games to sell well on the PC, they need to be established on the platform first. The last notable fighting game released on PC was Mortal Kombat 4 in 1998! Let me repeat that, 1998. When a company builds a loyal fanbase for a genre, it sells well, just look at Starcraft 2. Fighting games have yet to be established on PC, but judging from the amount that SFIV was pirated, it could definitely be a viable resource for any company that steps up and keeps at it.
Not to mention that Xbox360 has a pirated version, and PS3 will probably soon have Jailbreak, the argument is somewhat moot, although the numbers haven't reached PC pirate levels, yet. Capcom has to either a) create a loyal fanbase on PC, which will take a few fighting games or b) find a reliable DRM.
If Capcom won't support PC, then I won't support Capcom, simple.
boycotting capcom if they won't do a pc version is lame, unless the only street fighters you own are alpha 2 and SF4 which as far as I know are the only ones that came out for that pc (not counting the terrible floppy disk version of world warriors). as with movies there will always be bootlegs and sure you can mod your XBOX but you can just as easily be caught and banned, for I know many who have.
theres no high and mighty or holier than thou being spoken at all its just pure simple facts. if expected to sell 400,000 but you sold 500,000 copies of a game you put out yet you learn it was downloaded a million times, that means you missed out on more than you gained even if you surpassed your sells goal, I'm sure the number who both bought it and downloaded it is a small percentage compared to the bootleg only crowd and thats slapping the developers in the face who put in the work to make the game.
A pc version may happen sure, but in my opinion release it next year or do like ubisoft and make so you have to be online to play.
supporting the community by getting bootlegs out to the public is like helping the hungry by killing some off, its counter productive to the greater cause.
wheres my NBC PSA rainbow damn it
read almost everyones comments...surprised no ones hype about the upload to youtube replay channel thing that Ono MIGHT do.
@BisonBetterBeGood
Yes I know right! The whole video capture shenanegans sounds like a pain in the @55 so this feature would be of great convenience
LMAO, Ice9, i hope your not serious. No go play rival schools.
Agree with the first comment.
