OOOOOOOOOOO
Hi, I know this isn't the place for it, but does anybody know how to stop someone that just mashes jabs and shorts. I kept using Dudley's uppercut but kept getting stuffed by jabs. What happend to invincibility frames and priority? Thanks for helping me out.
Ross looks like the guy who did that "What What In The Butt" video.
@mach1545: Ditto XD, any time soon...
Much learning out of this, also ~ so much WORD on watching an unconventional non-point grinder non-turtle Guile! some times I get to defeat them, most times not (I main Cody), but practice makes for better results.
The Dash Super/Ultra with Guile is actually pretty easy. You don't need to use a Focus Attack either... you can just dash in.
In fact, it's pretty easy for almost every charge character, if not easier. The only character it's hard with is Dee Jay. For some reason his dash is just slow enough to make the timing ridiculously strict... which is a shame because he has some really nice combos that utilize Dash Ultra.
@Brosephski - yes easy, but with practice, not an usual out of the blue thing, specially for many control pad players.
+1 Brosephski
If you're sitting on D/B its actually pretty easy to do dash super/ultra. Especially if you're a VF player and used to tapping F,F.
Just FA (or not) whatever is coming, and as soon as you dash (or dash cancel the FA) with F,F, move the joystick back to D/B (B for some), and then to U/F (F for some) then hit your KKK (or PPP).
That said, I also agree it'll be hella hard to do this on pad. VF Akira is hella hard to play on pad because of all of those direction taps, this is basically Street Fighter's equivalent of doing a Dragon Lance Combo.
Does anyone else feel these videos kind of lost their original concept? Wasn't the original idea to have players send in videos for them to cover and evaluate? I don't really find this episode, nor the past three or four, to be very helpful. Don't get me wrong, I think they're good videos, but I enjoyed the first couple of them much more. While the match was enjoyable to watch and the commentary by the two was great, I don't feel I learned anything from the video. Nonetheless, I hope they don't stop making these videos.
This Guile won....Because he wasn't holding BACK.
YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH!
Check out the ending of this match, same Biggavelli using Guile, just working the body:
@SeoulZombie I was wondering that myself, maybe I need to watch it again but I didn't see any critique.
@Tru1yOdd: I understand that the videos help out getting new players interested in the game; but judging by what I've read here and on the Cross Counter site, the videos are made to help give insight to the whole community. I understand they cover the basics for the newcomers, and I think it's a great idea; however I think they should also explain somethings more in-depth for the other community members.
@WorstGiefEver: I've watched the video three or four times, and there is very little critique. It's mostly, "he should've done this," "he meant to do this," "that was very smart." However, there is very little explanation. The match analysis that is on the video's info is, on the other hand, better. This cover a little more, but still not as in-depth as I feel it should be. It seems this video was chosen mostly because of the flashy Super/Ultra, not for the purpose of teaching others.
Aggressive Guile is the purpose of Guile. Its a challenge to attack these superpowered and "noob" friendly characters. Its safer to turtle up...
Its when you lose the fear of "losing" that you can play Guile at a high level. Go online and watch how many people base their entire offense on the crossup...no variation, no desire to attempt any advanced combos...no risk. These people are afraid to lose.
You cannot play guile like that.
You play Guile like Geom like Fuson, these guys inspired my playstyle.
Aggression pays off in the long run...the name of the game is Street Fighter...not Street Hider.
Great Fights!
