@#3 yea I agree O.O it looks like their floating across the screen... is it because I play with a SDTV?
If Stickam doesn't work for you, they have an alternate stream running on their Ustream channel.
Why is it that the streams all the way in Japan are better quality than American ones. You'd think the Americans would be smoother since its closer.
Lol Apparently the alternate stream on Ustream only shows the commentators and crowd reaction. The actual matches are only showed on this Stickam stream.
I've seen better Seth's on xbox live honestly.
@#16 bananainsaneface
Hiropon also plays a lot on xbox live. His Seth was good enough to beat Sako's Cammy and tons of other good players.
This one laggs for me. And why the bloddy hell are they only showing the commentators on the ustream stream.
Oi! Here's a ustream NOT showing the commentators. Lags a hell of a lot less then the other one. Cheers
Both these Ustream channels are doing alternate streams.

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/newsuper4
Note the second stream in the above post (newsuper4) has slightly better quality than the first (kame8).
If you missed the 1st and 2nd round and the women's tournament, Kame8 has the archived video on Ustream.
I think there is a problem there :
Tukimiya Kiryu (Guy) beat Nemo (Chun-Li)
But I see Nemo in the 2nd round and not the GuY ?
this is good fun im learning allot from the chuns and the ibuki
Well, we can pretty clearly see which way Japan thinks the wind is blowing, eh? I don't see anything dislodging Rufus from his role here in America though. We just seem to prefer different traits in a top-tier character.
Losers Stage 2 Results
tomato (CDY) 1-2 Shojou Mahou Zangitan (ZAN) - Zangitan got 2 perfects on tomato !
Tokido (Akuma) 2-0 Nao (Claw) - Tokido pulls out a demon to take set 2 with barely no life left and kills Nao with a TKFB afterwards.
Nakanishi (RYU) 1-2 Arai (Claw)
tonpi (CVI) 2-1 Hiropon (STH)
To be fair, if you were watching, most of the Chun-Li matches were very close. Aqua's Ibuki and Haneyama's Chun-Li were trading rounds alternatively. None of the matches had Chun-Li "accidentally" winning like SF4 Sagat. Also, let's not forget that Nemo and Haneyama had way more top finishes in tournaments compared to most of the other players.
Just to put things in context.
People stating that Chun=Vanilla Sagat should start to use their brains. Chun can't remove 60% of a lifebar out of pure luck, and has a below average wakeup game and stamina. There is even a handful of match up where she's clearly at disavantage.
She maybe one of the strongest, if not the strongest character in the game, but there's like 10 or 15 characters who are nearly has good has she is.
I forgot to say something : top japanese players are now training for Tougeki. This tournament was mostly for fun, and a lot of players came with their brand new console character, so the overall level was far below Godsgarden 1&2. The only top players playing their old main were Tokido, Zangitan, Haneyama and Nemo. It's only logical that 2 of these 4 players climbed up to the top.
Losers Stage 3
tonpi (CVI) 2-1 Tokido (GOU) - Tokido eliminated.
Arai (Claw) 2-1 Zangitan (ZAN) - Zangitan eliminated.
Losers Stage 4
Arai (Claw) 2-0 keke (CHU) - keke eliminated.
tonpi (CVI) 2-0 Haneyama (CHU) - Haneyama eliminated.
Losers Stage 5
Arai (Claw) 0-2 tonpi (CVI) - Arai eliminated.
Losers finals going on right now.
the chun li army started thier advance the second it was announces she's the top of the top tier. the 3 in the top 5 tells me its all chun li from here. and I'm betting you well see her a lot more at next years evo
@65: Tells how much of a scrub you are when you don't have a clue who Nemo and Haneyama are... stay free.
@ #67 - you're a freaking tool, dude. not knowing who someone is doesnt make someone a scrub. you can read the strategy for you characters and compete in your local community without ever watching japanese players and still be damn good at the game. get a ****ing clue.
I disagree... if you want to get your game to the next level and learn all of the matchups, you need find the top players and check their playstyle... that's how I improved my game. watching and studying.
wow chun lis basicly dominated this tourny and people r trying to compare her to sf4 sagat? 1 shes not op she has to work for her wins 2 she has low stamina means she cant take to many hits i could go on but other chun players here can tell the rest as for me chuns been my main ever since sf2 and is never going to change shes my fav and am glad to c chuns dominate so congrats to chun li for stil kicking ass and being the top chick in sf thunder thighs rule nuff said.
You guys are amazing. In the list I hardly seen Chun Li matched up with any bad match ups, all her match ups are strong. Vs. Ibuki, vs. Claw, vs. Viper, she has all the advantages. NEMO beating Tokido is probably the hardest fight he had with Chun.
I think it's just one of those instances where you don't have a lot of heavy hitters. But non the less Congrats to Nemo I know the Chun Li forums are blowing up.

Chun and below average wake up game? You must be joking! Her ex SBK has good priority and stuffs cross ups (+it's RELATIVELY safe too). She might have weak wake up game when she's without level, but then she can still use that annoing backdash and get away from trouble...
You can say Guy has below average wake up game. He needs to use his EXes as well, but his ex Bushin Senpukyaku doesn't work against cross ups (which is RIDICULOUS!)and his backdash isn't as good as Chun's...
In short, she's NOT the new Sagat, but she DIDN'T need any buffs for SSF4!
For anyone who is interested, this guy from Korea has a channel with lots of top player matches and replays. There's a bunch of vids of daigo using various characters as well as gamerbee and others. http://www.youtube.com/user/Raknos1982
@ #69 - learn what a scrub is, jack ass. you call this guy a scrub because he doesnt watch japanese videos and doesnt know who two people are. millions of people in the world, he doesnt know two, so he's the kind of player who refuses to learn from his losses, makes up excuses about losing to "cheap" moves/characters, and feels he has the high ground because he played with "honor" and "by the rules"? you're an idiot. those two things arent in any way related. a scrub isnt someone who doesnt know who a top player is, he isnt someone who doesnt watch japanese videos and ride the cocks like half the guys on this site, he isnt even someone that sucks at street fighter (its possible to suck and not be a scrub, some people just suck).
seriously, you do NOT have to watch videos to get good at street fighter. you get good at street fighter by PLAYING street fighter. if he has a strong community and is a part of it, he can learn everything he needs to know by discussing and playing. he doesnt need to watch nemo play chun li in godlike fashion to learn how to play chun li, he needs to play chun li and learn how she works.
seeing someone wreck with a character doesnt teach you a damn thing. losing, winning, seeing how these strategies work when you actually try to implement them/learning how to implement them, this is how you get good at street fighter. you might learn a trick by watching a video, but it in NO ****ING WAY improves your skill or execution. what good is knowing that nemo can do various things if you dont know HOW to do them or HOW to implement them into your game? the answer- it isnt any ****ing good. i can watch match videos from now until i die as an old man, it wont do me a damn bit of good in anything but theory fighter.
anyone have the matches organized and whatnot on youtube yet? streaming sites in general likes to kick my cpu usage upto 100% whether its live stream or not :( would be nice to see em here or on the go
am i the only chun player that felt like she didnt change much since vanilla. Or maybe im not noticing it.
@80 please tell me how chun got buffed, besides the new ultra. her wake up ex sbk can still get stuffed, and without ex, getting corner pressured sucks. i dont think the backdash will help out much in that situation. Not trying to start an arguement, this is a legit question.
yea thats part of the reason @89 while other tops got toned down a bit she became better by not being touched really, and not like she was bad to begin with. Faster focuses helps her out alot, they buffed/fixed a few of her normal moves and that ultra 2 is combo friendly
the bad match ups wont matter much if the two dont battle it out really. Such as that zangief could of been higher up if he didnt have to face hiropon(seth) i would guess, then again probably would of gotten smashed by a chun player or akuma good thing he was able to fight a cody snd adon in the mist of that. Seems to be no mentioning of balrog in any matches, then again i havent watch em all. Atleast chun li gotten some new tricks in the update, Balrog remained stagnant with a ugly ultra 2 so maybe people got bored of him.
Once again, people are really misconception about Chun's placing. Sure she has a +192. But do those of you who don't play her even know WHY? She is a VERY tough character to work with considering nearly all hear tools are situational.
Her worst matchups are still Viper, Rufus and Gouki. While everyone else got rounded off to 5-5s, a few 6-4s and one or two 7-3s. She is the perfect example of a character who actually takes work to win with.
- No, EX SBK is not gdlk, in fact, it's ass but still her best wake up option. The very fact that it's possible to stuff it completely with a well placed jump does not help her at all or that if blocked, is highly suspected to punishment.
- Not only that, she does NOT have a one-fits-all anti-air. She has several and they are all situational. ST.CL RH won't beat certain jump ins, df+Short will work with specific angled ones, st.foward will only beat characters about to cross on TOP of her head, cr. strong will only beat fake crossups.
- Her arguably best normal in vanilla got nerfed (st.rh) while her df+Short and st.Strong got buffed up (df+short got really good, st.strong reaching ST status improved it just a bit). Yes, her cr. forward in SF4 is that good. Nothing else has changed.
- Another bit no one seems to care about is the fact, she really didn't change at all beyond those 3 improvements. The overall damage nerf to the whole cast (except Sim) made her better to the situation. Nearly everything you can do with Chun in SSF4, can really be done in SF4
- Another misconception is that she draws even with Viper now. No, not really. U2 helps her case, but Viper is still a momentum based character, Chun cannot handle that at all still. Wake Up U2 is NOT a viable option against a speedy-tricky Viper. IMO the only reason it's 6-4 now is because of U2 threat/guaranteed damage vs Viper. Gouki as well, still wrecks her pretty bad and can be argued that it's 6-4/7-3 in his favor. It's still Option Select city for Gouki vs Chun even with Gouki's nerfs. Rufus is Rufus, U2 threat and improved anti-air normal game is what draws it 6-4 (RUF's favor still) now compared to in vanilla (I don't care what anyone says, it's 7-3 in SF4). She wasn't bad in SF4, she lost out horribly to characters who could do more damage than her using less work.
- Another major thing is that Tougeki is next month and that is a big thing. All players at GG who qualified for SBO used their mains with U1.
If there are really people out there who think she is that braindead easy to use. I really feel for you because chances are your going to switch right away. There is no "I WIN" button with her. You have to actually work for her wins.
What's the point in a match up chart/tiers if you can't use a character to their full potential in the first place.
RYAN HART BEATS DIAGO SVB SEMI FINALS OBVIOUSLY UK GOT JAPAN ON SMASH
One weird thing with GG2.5, nobody picked Guile @_@ !
*Sets the cake down for others to enjoy*
