Viewtiful Joe looks like a f'ing monster. Dormammu looks f'ing scary. This game is getting me so f'ing HYPE!!!
Dormammu: Seems to be a keep away character that can attack from anywhere and up close still can do damage.
Viewtiful Joe: Looks like a rush down character and looks to have some insane air combos.

I like what I see far. VJoe is prob going to be a pain to get combos off on being a skrimp. Saw lots of dropped combos against him in TvC tournaments cause his shortness. Him and Amaterasu on a team would be interesting as of now I think.
Dormammu is not slow, with such projectiles speed is little worry. Viewtiful Joe looks a bit boring to me though, i mean his moves are as over the top as all the other characters but i think he lacks that something special going by that video.
I also laugh at those who say they worry about balance, this is a game to have fun with and not dwell so much with the issues that usually concern us with Street Fighter games

and as for GrimXD, i'd normally agree with you as the cuts have been rough, considering they haven't show us what. But in terms of the canon, Dormammu's got nothing on Magneto. He's got status and power, but he doesn't have that staying power. I look at him in the same light i look at Shuma Gorath and Blackheart. The many schools of Marvel must be recognized, and this is the Mysticism showing it's prevalance, just like [Silver Surfer and] Super Skrull are repping for the Cosmic. Magneto's a safe bet for Mutants and the X-Men, as none of the others but Wolverine have been mentioned [safe for possible Storm]. He's like the jerk uncle who always spikes the punch at the family reunion. Yea it's a d!ck move, but he did reserve the picnic spot, so he's safe.
Iron Fist [or Daredevil, Punshier, LUKE CAGE WHO SHOULD BE IN THIS SH!T BY NOW! etc] would be the ideal reps for the crime/underground side, but spiderman's got that on lock to some extent as well.
As for V.Joe, they're likely just giving him his last big hurrah, as his franchise is dead. Another V.Joe game WOULD be great, but to me at least, it felt like the type of thing that should not extend so long. Think of MVC1 as the *tear* last hurrah of CapCom, Jin, and Strider... God i wish they were coming back.
Besides i think they just like the way V.Joe fits into the game, since they can't put Dan in it. He does mix things up, and it's better him that Tron, Roll, or SERVBOT!
And Megaman's still going freakishly strong with like what 18 incarnations?? lol No one's gonna take his spot anytime soon.
i agree with your insight as for the sides of marvel's representation. however. take a close look. viewitful has megamans moves almost exactly. and dormammu has magneto's with a mix of blackhearts move's and as for x-men representation. although mageneto is and always will be a heavy hitter. i feel they might leave him out
megaman's and magneto's play styles have been now taken. would they redo they movelists completely? extremely unlikely. i feel if xmen get more representation it's be cyclops or another mainstream x-men. not x-men villian

@17 magneto and megaman have got a lot of powers they could do a lot with them. Vjoe dose not have megabuster the most important part of megaman and magneto is crazy fast but I could see both of them not makeing the cut. Any xman woman has a good shot right now.
Dormammu is cool but what's up with the name? Thanos, Dr Doom etc.. have cool villain names but Dormammu sounds like a hentai protagonist.
Dormmamu looks amazing, they really captured his powers and abilities from the comics. Definitely a main for me.

Yes I think there are some character specific opening quotes for at least the player 1 side. Viewtiful Joe says "you're a real hero, for real?" which makes sense when he's fighting marvel super heroes.
MvC3 is looking way too awesome for it's time.
And yes people are still saying every other character with a combo is broken, same $hit they said w/SSFIV. What was it they called it, "Super Dudley Fighter IV"??
I think it's safe to say these are the same group of people that can tell you who's good or not in a game that isn't even finished yet.

V.Joe and Mega Man Volnutt were both in TvC. Did they play the same? (I don't know, I hardly ever got a chance to play TvC)
The nice thing about Mega Man is that there are so many variants to pick. For all we know, they could include MegaMan.EXE this time, with a different set of attacks. Or maybe pick the creepy-eyed protagonists from Mega Man ZX, and allow them to change biometals mid-game.

Developing stages my friend, it's impossible to speculate on balance when the game isn't out. Wasn't Dudley and Ibuki supposed to be god tier in ssf4 before the game came out? If he's in, I don't think ALbert Wesker won't be revealed till the movie. The capcom side needs more still because it almost looks unbalanced. If Silver Surfer is revealed this month if it's true, my guesses are there will be a Capcom surprise character as well. My guess is one of these guys Gill, Seth, Urien or Pyron!!

the only reason i think Megaman's safe is because of the amount of representation the MM franchise got in TvC as compared to V.Joe's roster. Alastor [and some would argue Silvia] would be great chars to play as with the right development, and someone else could probably make a better argument, for those characters or their personal favorites.
I'm not saying you prefer Joe; I understand you're just looking at the facts. But I'm in the mindset that Joe's not a replacement for MM Classic. I see that clear as day, and while some people will be glad to see him go, if that is the case [it tugs at my heartstrings as well], I see him as a direct threat to Jin[& Strider and CapCom... but i see everyone, as threats to my boys]
Compress MM Classic and Jin into one character, carve away this here and that there--Presto! V.Joe can appear in two versus games, despite having sold a game in years!
Jin has a similar attitude and fury that V.Joe has displayed, as well as the Hero Flair for the dramatic. Albeit, he goes about it with in a different way, the character similarities. and perhaps Capcom is looking to kill to birds with one stone in some cases.
Freaking Megaman. He's got so many incarnations, I think 4 of them have been in fighting games so far, and they've got about 4 more they can use. This is one case in which no MM classic? okay. It's time to take the wheel we reinvented with X, Zero, Battle Network, and begrudgingly I add Trigger, and adapt it to the fighting game genre. It's one of those scenario's where Capcom actually has a gold mine; access to something that can work FLAWLESSLY if they use it correctly[cough EX cough]. So yes I do in some sense see V.Joe as a POSSIBLE replacement for MM, but not MM alone. And that doesn't keep the blue bomber out of the fight.
I mean he's got the power to beam anywhere, we should all be glad he doesn't abuse it.

As for Dormammu, I wasn't following what was going on with Magneto back when MVC2 came out, but I had always assumed he was Big Bad Mother F#cker, and while i'd like to think Marvel canon and other things such as being a character(Mammie) or an ICON[Magneto], i have no idea what the minds at Capcom and Marvel are thinking when they make these decisions. My best guess is they took a look at some of the things Magneto could do in the last game, and reached a point where they said,
"F#CK IT! no we're making someone new. We officially encase Magneto in carbonate for all time, and he will in this way forever be known, as will [MVC2] Storm and Sentinel."
Who knows? I mean, look at [S]SFIV. Making characters, they technically already had... and Rufus would have been much better as a woman, albeit still built like an R.Mika but y'know what I mean.
That wouldn't surprise me at all. Although deep down, i'm a roster gluttonist. The only time i've said "whoa wait what?" are in these recent years with Capcom's revival.

-Chris Redfield Finally escapes the savage fictional African country where he spent his time fending for survival against berserk stereotypes and giants and now he's fighting what's essentially a no equip Executioner who's 30 times as bad as any fish he shot on a boat.
Thor seems he'd be a better match up against Trish, and I personally feel Ammy and SS would be a nice fight because of all of their variation, but someone could see something else.
Granted Dormammu and Joe and tallest and shortest, but i think they might also be the most "...WHAT?" reaction from the fans.
As for the selection so far, interesting, not my picks by far, but hopefully they have a plan. I don't really think they'll ever design like they used to in the good old days... and i'm talking about MVC1 and SFEX here, not that clusterf#ck MVC2. This Biggest issue with me would have to be the complete lack of Marvel ladies. Aside from shoe-in storm, the majority of their other femme fa tales have been Mutant representation. Storm, Rogue, Marrow, Psylocke, even Jubilee as an assist. Spiral even, for godsakes!! Sure they aren't the most different compared to the rest of the cast, but you've got Ms. Marvel just off the top of my head.

I think that if they do wind up bringing him back, they'd leave him pretty much the same, just slower and less spammable, but I'd love to see him redone. If they did, magneto fans from MvC2 would probably be pretty upset though, which leads me to think that they probably wouldn't give him too drastic of a "makeover"

i completely understand and semi agree cortez. however, there aren't many "corners" to the marvel universe. you have Averngers, Cosmic, F4(summed up into one guy, Super Skrull), X-men and then the Spin-offs(THunderbolts, secret warriors, deadpool, Atlas, etc.)
so i'm thinking tops we'll get 4 x-men. but it's hard to pick the core 4. theres literally 200 of them and right now very few stand out.

Thunderbolts(If anything they rep the villains/reformed villains) isn't really a spin off and the Secret Warriors fall on the espionage side of Marvel. There's also the Mystic side, the street side, The Defenders, Captain Britan and M:13, the Gamma mutates(Hulk, Leader, Abomination,Samson, etc.), The God side(Thor, Hercules, etc.), The occult side(Midnight Sons,Legion of Monsters,etc.),The WW2 heroes(Cap, Namor, etc.). Plus the respective series of each hero.
I can understand why Marvel doesn't want the roster to be overpopulated by X-men is all i'm saying. But yeah, 4 seems like a good guess. We have Wolverine and we will probably get Storm.
Anyway, we will find out more soon enough.

i see what your saying however much of those are overlaps and also insignificant parts of the marvel universe. Marvel has already come out and said they wanna use characters that are significant NOW or UPCOMING events to tie things in.
most of what you have listed(no offense) are rather insignificant. some are also dead lol. i only see big wigs coming in. cuz think about it also. only about 30. so now you gotta think the most prominent 15 to 20 characters at most. we already have 7. not many spaces left....
well i think spider-man and megaman are guarentees, and i'd love to see Radd Spencer in there too. But if Venom doesn't make the cut.... blood shall be shed. I'd take Carnage though, think of the badassery he could provide.

i'm still iffy on the megaman situation but for me too i'd think it'd be crazy to not include him. and i'm still suprised that spiderman hasn't been listed yet either. and as for venom. i actually loved to use him. and i'd definitely like to see him again. but with such a small number it's like hwo do they wanna fit and who not.
did anyone else notice about :56 secs into dormammu's vid his counter thing took out almost half of chris health before he canceled into this super, looking pretty beastly. And i wonder if he works kinda like polimar with the power up thing for certain moves to be done.

has Next-Gen not being powerful enough for switches been confirmed? i dont know programming well so i can't really comment.
but if no switches. i would think two things. either ONLY plain red and blue spiderman, OR they do only Symbiote spiderman and save some character slots. two for one.
i think the game just needs alternate costumes. spider-man could get symbiote, and every marvel character has had a different look at some point so they'd be easy. the capcom side would be a little trickier, but they could do it. amaterasu's could be her plain wolf form, chris's could be RPD uniform, morrigan's could be lilith. many possibilities.
