The silhouette looks bald, and some bald characters from previous SF games are Retsu, Necro, and Oro (practically). It also looks like Birdie without a mohawk, but the head and neck size look appropriate.

It's a placeholder image. The image wouldn't be duplicated, so arguing it looks like a particular character would be arguing that character would be selectable twice.

Actually on four of the grapplers are pro wrestlers(Zang, El, Mika, Honda), Hugo is just based off a famous pro wrestler, Alex is a true street fighter in that he doesn't seem to have formal training, abel is abel of course,and birdie's a street punk

I did some research and found something interesting. While the sillouett on the pics here are generic as they come both slots seem to be identical (Does someone have any high rez zooming program?
It's pretty generic, it could be anyone It could be Hugo without the drawn hair or Yun looking straight across and eyes lowered but as an artist I would never depict characters with such a unique sillouett like Yun and Hugo (It's an artist thing trust me).
Having said that I did notice when searching for previous sillouett character icons from eary versions of SSFIV that each sillouett was different. So it makes me wonder why put two sillouetts of the same image when every other character had a unique sillouett?

It's also possible that it's a placeholder, and the silhouette of like... a current character, or maybe even a Capcom employee or something (Oh hell, I dunno), and he was poking fun at it by asking if it was recognizable. Hell, maybe it's just a generic placeholder not of ANYTHING he was making fun of the fact that it's just a placeholder.

Unfortunately I don't mean to be a downer but im agreeing with the fact it's just a filler and an identical one is opposite, and as much as I wish it I highly doubt that Haggar will be included despite deserving every right to, reason is that Gief = Russian Haggar and has his alternate, same goes for charlie, it most likely Yun and Yang as they were pretty much announced anyway.

if you actually read the page he says the hint is "in the location test" he didn't say the in the character select screen. just mentioned there are two silhouettes. while I'm personally leaning toward alex and rolento due to previous statements and findings, I'll just wait for the tokyo game show next month. I really want to see hugo sf4-ized and it will be to watch him and t hawk duke it out. of the whole SFA cast karin is the last one I'd want, she's boring to me, but whatever. TGS not too far away

I zoomed in a little more, and from wht i see silohuette is NOT not bald, hair is kind of in a roundish shape, so my best guess is mike haggar for now
they are not filler images. zoom in so the slot on the right is bigger, then compare it to the one on the left. the one on the left has a bigger right ear, and the right image's bottom left corner of the silhouette is different than the left one. it points more to the left, than the other one that points more down.
If it actually is someone it's probably Rolento or Urien. They've already stated before that Haggar won't be in anytime soon.
yeah I bet Rolento is on the right and Haggar is on the left, it's kinda obvious but not really. The reason why I say this is because one of the new stages is in Metro City and on that stage you see a construction worker with a red construction cap, wearing yellow with a green pole in his hand (you see him during final victory pose...but maybe that's a hit or a tease...or it could mean nothing.) The new character on the right looks as if he is facing left like most of the other characters. The character on the left looks like he is facing forward with a big neck kinda like Sagat and Seth.

All of the speculation WAS funny before, with the SSF4 silhouettes, but even more awesome to later find that a supposed "leaked list" turned out to hold water, 100%, and reveal the very characters (Including an oil-obssessed Turk named "Hakan") we now get to play.
I was hoping that another supposed "leaked list" of a total of seven new characters would be true, when it was posted somewhere, saying Nash/Charlie, R. Mika, Rolento, Elena, Hugo, Alex, and Q would make the cut, this time around.
Come on, though... Why do people look at the two identical silhouettes and somehow see Alex, Rolento, Yun, yang, or even R. Mika, when it looks like a big, bald dude, or at least hat-less dude, with a big neck? If it's just long hair, and not a neck, it would look more like Remy, in my opinion, but then again, I agree that both slots DO appear to be the generic placeholders that Capcom has used in a lot of their games.
Oh, and I am NOT just talking about character face tiles/thumbnails on a character select screen. I am also referring to the "generic silhouette" character that they used to draw in their instruction booklets.
If you have "Marvel Super Heroes Versus Street Fighter" on the Sega Saturn, for instance, there's a blue, silhouette "Cyclops" and, if I recall correctly, a generic one that isn't as specific looking, in the same instruction manual. Back in the day, ALL Street Fighter 2 characters shared the SAME silhouette, no matter what gender or size they were, whenever they got engulfed by a flame attack of some sort (ie Yoga Fire/Flame).

Don't get me wrong about Mike Haggar - I love that character and would love for him to make the cut, but Ono, the sadistic tease that he is, mentioned on more than one occasion, that he would pitch and promote Hugo for a new or DLC character before Mike Haggar would even be considered.
This was first said at a German convention or whatever BEFORE SSF4's characters were even fully revealed.
If this silhouette was Rolento, Yun, OR Yang, we'd see a HAT on him of some sort, or some crazy hair. If it was Alex at all, it would also show us his bangs, hanging over both sides of his face/head frame. Urien is NOT bald, so we'd see an outline of HIS hair, as well.
If it were R. Mika, we'd see pigtails.
I, for one, would LOVE to see Rolento and R. Mika in SSF4, and I would be happy beyonf measure if they gave Birdie a chance too. I love his win pose where he flips you off and his two 360 motion moves. I mean, come on... When he slams you with his chains wrapped around you, he emphasizes the syllables "Go... TO hell.". He was my Zangief, back when SFZ1/SFA1 did not yet have Zangief, who came back for SFZ2/SFA2.
If they were to put Q in, I would LOVE to finally get SOME sort of enlightenment and/or closure over just what the hell IS his deal. Same with Nash/Charlie, and/or even Remy. I need closure on those loose ends already. lol

@ 112 obviously you don't play final fight much, do you know how man Hugo Andore's they have? its an entire family of them, that how they explain fight a bunch at once (example the boss fight where you fight Andore granpa andore and uncle andore) so that one in the back ground doesn't really HAVE to be the one from Sf3. anyway I'm still going for Alex and rolento, since the super street fighter 4 like wall papers for them were leaked a couple months ago
The silhouette looks the same, but it's hard to choose because there are more characters that people want. I want Ingrid, Alex, Rolento, Karin, Urien, and Hugo in the game. I shouldn't get my high hopes, but it would be great to have them.
If i have to guess...i will say yang and yun,since both character slots looks same so they might be an indication to twin brothers...!
Okay I withdraw all of my previous posts, and reveal that the silhouette is actually me, Hadododouken. Yeah, Capcom shaved my head, took a photo, and made a silhouette. They were pretty enthusiastic about having me as a placeholder. Man, all those European neck workout videos really paid off.
Haven't read all the posts but just wanted to give in my 2 cents. I might be looking too deep into this, but I'd say Yun and Yang just because they'd probably be rivals for one another without having to change/redo much in the game. If it was say, Urien, who would his rival be? Same for Sean, Elena, etc. Yun and Yang would be perfect. Also, the character select screen in that screen shot looks similar to 3rd Strike's character select screen only vertical. And who are on the very top and very bottom of the char select screen in sf3? Why Yun and Yang of course :)
About the silhouettes being Yun and Yang... While it is entirely possible it could be Yun's silhouette shown, you're all (quite intentionally) ignoring the fact that YANG'S HAIR IS NOT SHOWN. Don't delude yourselves and confuse your own hopes with the facts.
That being said, they're placeholder portraits as evidenced by the size, etc. However, that doesn't mean they aren't silhouettes of someone, or silhouettes of the two characters they are placeholders of.

I dont know what it is nowadays, I remember when I used to get Nintendo Power 15,20 years ago and there was no "Big Secret" information like there is today. Companies used to rush to tell us what new features they were adding in detail too. Now I guess its all marketing, and while its frustrating, it does work. It builds anticipation and at the same time keeps cool websites like eventhubs in business.

Maybe it's not more the silhouettes they want us to look at but more what they symbolize, kinda like a riddle or hint. Seeing as they're both the same they symbolize twins which mean Yun and Yang, and they're both on opposite sides of the characters a la SF3 where yun was on the top and yang was on the bottom. Or maybe I'm just tired and don't know what I'm saying idk
