Peffico noticed that Amazon is running a nice deal for the Hori PS3 Fighting Stick 3, which is $29.99 and includes free shipping. For those of you curious if these are any good, I can assure you they are. I use a Hori stick myself with my 360 and it works beautifully. Haven't had any issues with it.
@ zores
they most likely made a mistake (typo) it should read $49.99 and not $9.99.. if they were going for $9.99 do you seriously think there would still be any left in stock..??
Another good stick is the KO Fighting Stick by Hyperkin. It looks and feels exactly like the Hori PS3 stick, but just slightly different.
Though a lot of people talk trash about it, I can assure you it's very good for the price it's offering. I've had it since SF4's launch and it's still in amazing condition.
Actually, the price did in fact go to 9.99
I tried to buy when I saw this and saw that there were only 3 left in stock warning, they all got sold before I could place my order and the price reverted back to the original.
So yeah, they actually did go to 9.99 if only for a quick few minutes before it was bought out
If you want to solder are re-wire the buttons...this isn't good.
I bought it for 40, the buttons lasted for a month MAYBE, then i needed to teach myself how to solder to replace all the buttons.
PAIN IN THE ASS. wish I had splurged for a TE.
Hori FS3 is definitely not easy to mod, and as far as quality goes... well just avoid it, that stick won't last that much.
Bought it to get used to sticks, it just sucked big time. Better go straight for a TE, if you don't like the style, just sell it.
@ BlankaBeast: it has some problems using it on computers, on XP 32 bit I had to find custom made drivers, and I heard it won't work on Vista/Seven.
Avoid the PS3 Fighting Stick at all costs for shifting into above amateur level of control with sticks . As you are aware , the stick and buttons are not your averagely good sanwa buttons , and may have some trouble getting 3XPunch and/or 3XKicks out . The stick feels like it has a mind of it's own ( Really really sensitive ) and to me it felt like a small gate . Not only that but modding this stick is a bitch .
On the positive side , it is a great way to build up your experience on having control with the stick . Play this with games like SSFII Turbo HD for example and you should be able to shift to other games with the stick after a month/months of playing . SSFIV may be good to but overall I felt the buttons and stick wasn't accurate enough to perform 2-3Punch/Kick moves , and others I probably can't think of the moment . Bottom line , good for beginniner , bad for tournament level play .
well fs3 is good. Bought one for my lil bro on xbox and ps3 for 30bucks still works! The lil sucker learned how to use stick on those so i bought him a te. He still likes the fs3 and i do as well. Very bad buttons BUT for games like sf2 it doesnt matter. Its not really that bad of a stick and it works still for me. I basiclly use it for emus on my cpu in the basment but if your looking to learn stick and the hrap or te is out of your price.....buy this and learn stick on it
I bought the TE a few months ago but for $30 I couldnt past on this deal. Wish I had read all the comments before purchasing it :( hopefully i won't regret it too much. Do you guys know of any well know site to mod my SF4 TE?
For the record, the stick I use is the Hori stick that I got bundled with Tekken 6. As I said, no problems yet, but if any come up (ie: button fail), I'll post it here.
I have that same stick, all my buddys say it isnt heavy enough because its too small, (which leads too many "thats what she said" jokes).
BUT: i perfer it over other arcade sticks because it has "crisper" buttons imo, while the mainstream arcade sticks have flat dull feeling buttons. also, the arcade stick "clicks" in all 8 directions when you spin it, moves feel clean when they come out.
Well you not exp good buttons att all with this stick. The buttons suck compared to sanwa or semitsu. As for 8way its not a octagon gate its square so yea. All sticks have that clicking sound its called micro switches. While its a good training stick only! It servs its purpose as a cheap stick. But in noway is it compareable to hrap or te
Actually, even though there wasn't the $9.99 360 one up anymore, there was one in the "From other sellers" listing. going at 7.99 with 6.99 shipping. I picked up two of those things. And yes, they are new. Do some digging around before you just start crying and count your losses people.
@24 Your words would sound more believable and reliable if you didn't type like a jackass. Right now you just sound like a raving moron.
I got this stick for 20 bucks at Gamestop. It's not a bad stick but I wouldn't recommend it. The buttons kinda stick to the interface when pressing them, and you really do have to push down on these buttons to get the commands on the screen.
For me, it's also uncomfortable, I don't know if its the shape of the base or how the buttons are angled, but playing on it hurts my hands. Plus like a lot have mentioned, it is not an easy stick to mod. If you try swapping the buttons out for Sanwa, you will have to solder the buttons to fit them on the Hori Stick, and buying the equipment, replacement buttons and stick would probably enough money to get a better arcade stick.
If you want a good stick, and have some money to spend; there are better options. For me go with something old school, get the Namco Arcade Stick From PS1.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooowww!
