Capcom mentioned that new characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be revealed week, as their Europe team left this message via Twitter.
GamesCom begins this week in Cologne. Now doesn't that seem like a good time for some more Marvel vs. Capcom 3 character announcements?!
Also, Capcom's Christian Svensson and Rey Jimenez made some posts on the Unity Boards concerning the characters who have been ruled out and future titles.

I don't think it means anything. Ono's English is quirky, and even if that's exactly what he meant to say, it's still only a hint if you interpret it as "How did you guess?" and not one of the several other possible meanings. Anyway, I seriously hope it doesn't mean anything, those two jerks annoy the hell out of me.
Until they make 'easy inputs/lazy inputs/scrub inputs etc' optional the new characters won't make a difference.

Yun OR Yang would be much better than Yun AND Yang. Also, the characters who almost didn't make it to SSF4 would definitely make it in the upcoming DLC, and counting Ono's obsession I'd say Elena and R.Mika confirmed.
we have to make capcom give us a demo before the year ends. we already been known they have there roster done, that there going to show us the marvel females so stop asking the same questions. its better playing this game than watching videos at these events and youtube. lets annoy them for a demo

I'd rather pass on Yun & Yang. People are just gonna whine about how they didn't translate well anyway. No more SF3 people other than Elena and Alex because aside from those 2, the system of SSF4 won't accommodate the others well like Makoto's tragedy. I'd say Alpha characters, Alex, Elena or bust.

RE 6 would be nice although I don't see this series going any further knowing the fact Wesker died in RE 5. Wesker was like the last of Umbrella....unless Capcom decides to subsitute Umbrella with Tricell. If that's the case Resident Evil is going to run on forever like the Final Fantasy Series.

are you just ignoring street fighter 3 or have you just never played it? back in the day, if you picked yun with kicks you got yang. in other words, they shared a character slot. yun and yang werent separate characters until second impact.
so, having said that, how is it in any way like putting ryu and ken or juni and juli on the same character slot? it isnt.
Rufus plays NOTHING like Yun or Yang. Just because they have a divekick does not mean they are the same character, and even if that was the case may I remind you of Ryu, Ken and Akuma who all have the same special moves.
If they can't be in because they have a divekick, then Ken and Akuma can't be in because Ryu has Hadoken, Tatsu and Shoryuken. So people like #16 should just stop talking because it's obvious you haven't played 2nd Impact or 3rd Strike
If we really get both Yun and Yang but not Q... I'll be left speechless...

"SFIII: Third Strike Online" has been announced. Capcom will want to make their money on that. I highly doubt that they'll dump a ton of Third Strike characters in SSFIV. Doing so would more than likely cause Capcom to lose money on their future "Third Strike Online" game.
If "SSFIV: Arcade" is to get 6 or more new characters. I think they should be new and original characters. However, I think they should go crazy with the alternate costumes and pay homage to other Capcom games (as Ett suggested) through those costumes. We already have Guile in Charlie's outfit and Zangief in Haggar's, etc. Here are further examples:
Abel: Rolento's outfit from Alpha series or Alex for 3rd Strike
El Fuerte: Skullomania's outfit from EX series (as Ett suggested in an earlier post)
T. Hawk: Hugo outfit
C. Viper: Poison outfit
Gen: Yun costume, change stance Yang
Hakan: Birdie I guess???

Fair enough and true. There will always be people who play "Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting" as it is thought to be one of the most well-balanced fighters. However, in an attempt to maximize sales of "SF3: Third Strike Online Edition", I feel that Capcom will keep most of the "Third Strike" characters in their place as an incentive for us to purchase "SF3: Third Strike Online Edition".
lol, Yun and Rufus have a few of the same normals, and are offensive based characters that have fun juggle moves, but really they are very different in practice. Yun has elements from Rufus, Fei, Gen, and even Juri if we are talking about existing SSF4 characters. All of that is just so trivial at the end of the day.
And Yang is more comparable to Fei than anything. Yang is more like Fei Long mixed with Gen if anything.

im confused what does this aracade version mean? am i gonna be able to get new chars for my ssf4 at home? is gonna be like an add -on thing? or is it gona be one of those huge arcade machines that i have to throw hundreds of dollars out for (which im not doing)
If they do characters for the arcade release, they'll likely provide them as DLC for the console versions. However, it's more than likely that you'd have to pay for the DLC in order to play as those characters (the price is anyone's guess, but I'm betting it will be in the $10 range if it's 6 characters).
If you want Yun & Yang just play SF3 3S. It would be nice seein alex but abel takes his spot. I'd go for elena & rolento. You have your merc & a capoeria fighter. That would give lots of variety imo. @ chickenwing. So u want a guard meter eh? I'm guessin you like playin aggro. Just cuz you like aggro don't mean everyone has to play like that. Won't be fair to those who play defensively. Look at dhalsim & guile. They need to play defense cuz that's how they were desinged.
I still don't think that Alex would really play much like Abel when translated to the SSFIV engine. They have a launcher, an AA throw, and a command throw. That's really about where the similarities end. I'd love to see Alex in SSFIV, because his grappling is much more central to his core offense than Abel's is. His throw is more-so just a threat to keep away from throw distance with him for too long and for some wake-up games.
I know everyone is debating about whose in and whose out, but let me say this. I've been want a curtain character in SF4 for awhile now. This character would make an interesting addition to SF4. Her character design alone would be worth it. I'm surprise no one ever talks about her, she would make great. Trust me.

Give her average health instead of girl health, give her EX dash punch fireball invincibility, give her back the ability to command grab after dash punch, add invincible frames to the EX axe kick, slightly increase her walking speed, and speed up her chop special. Also, increase the hitbox and damage on her srk and slightly increase the speed on her focus attack.
That would make her incredibly more viable against fireball characters (EX dash punch->command grab->ultra through one fireball) which are her current real bane, and give her a stronger AA and mix-up game, as well as making her a bit more durable, since so much of her game is high risk->high reward. She'd still essentially be the same Makoto as 3S, but incredibly more viable in the SSFIV engine.

You tell people who want Yun and Yang to play 3S then suggest they add Elena and Rolento. Why don't you play 3S and Alpha 2? And Alex is nothing like Abel, people need to stop with the "this character plays like this character" statements when the characters being compared aren't even similar. They are completely different and Alex is coolness 100%
And to people saying "this character wont translate well because of this." You have to realise that characters can be modified to fit the current system. They've already done it with a lot of characters such as Gen. Yes he's lame but fits well enough, the same can be done with any character, with even a tiny bit of creativity you can add pretty much any SF character to this game
yun and yang would be great see everyone always doubt a char until a good player plays with them, then here goes the banwagon player who try to pick up that char and get whoop... I bet if an makoto player made top 8 in evo alot of players would be playing with her... if gamebee didn't played as well as he did in evo there might be less adon players, so yun and yang is not different from some of the crapy char that they have in ssf4.
Something they should ad in the ssf4 arcade DLC is the option to use the vanilla announcer and theme music. The new music is even more redundant than the old one...
I think Capcom actually does think twice, or many times over that, when adding characters. While they may have screwed the pooch a bit on some (Guy, Makoto), the vast majority of the cast are both true to some previous iteration of the character, and for the large part, viable to some real degree in competitive play.
My only point was that you could take a 3rd strike character, strip them of their parries and whatnot, and they could still be completely viable and yet still true to their roots. The version of Makoto I listed above could possibly be top-top-tier, where the current version is bottom tier, and they'd both roughly reflect 3S Makoto. They could add any 3S (or A3) character to SSFIV and they would have a good chance of being viable, it just depends on how they handle the transition. That's really my only point.

I've always found Yun and Yan boring when compared to the rest of the third strike cast. Just like Chun and Ken they were just a little too bland in comparison to all of the other unique fighters that were around them.
If I had to say one, I'd say Yun, I don't think there is any need to add them both. Not because they're both similar, but just because I think that's over kill. It's not like saying "Oh but Ken and Ryu are in there!", Ken and Ryu are icon characters who are expected to both be there. I'm not saying they're not good characters, just that if I had to go between both of them or another character I'd go with the other character.
As for who I'm hoping for I can say that I like the Hugo, Elena, Alex and Rolento combination. Add Yun and R.Minka and I think you have a nice cast. I did have other people I'd have liked to see like Eagle, Birdie or Necro but I'm realistic lol.
@darkcyclone. Good point. If anyone wants SF3 or SFA characters, play the games they come from. I stand corrected. I guess is cuz I'm not a big fan of yun or yang. If they throw in SF3 i'd go for elena & (probably) alex. From Alpha rolento. If they make it cool. If not I'll just play them in there respective games.

whats the point in fillin the posts with character request? its not like capcom'll hear'em all. also there's a good chance that they have already been decided. look at MvC3. people keep askin for this & that yet the odds are that the character you want wont be in cuz it was decided before the development process that he/she wont be in. im not tryin to bust anyone's bubble but im bein realistic. i wouldn't mind seein storm & magneto in but maybe it was already decided that they wont be in the game. or maybe they'll come ad DLC. who knows. like i said im just bein realistic. i apologize if i offended anyone or busted anyone's hopes.

I think most players at tournaments just want to win!!! do yall get tried of watching evo tournaments or being in evo tournaments and seeing rufus, ryu in the finals... gets boring after awhile like come on!! @99 they do listen or when wouldn't have ssf4... why go play sf3 when the char can be on ssf4.. this game is the hottest fighting at the time so why go back to sf3 when the char can be on ssf4.. Beside yun and yang is in chun li story at the end so there a chance they might be on there...
he probably just meant that he can't comment on new characters in general.
