SSF4 C-1 block looks to be at the acme of winning, or most favorable. IMNSHO, seriously thats a strong team.
Posted by RandomPlayer on August 9, 2010 at 6:43 a.m. #13
Most likely Daigo didn't even try to qualify for the other games. He's main game right now that he's being serious with is Street Fighter IV (and SSFIV). Even last year he only tried to qualify for SFIV.
B-1 Block - MOV (Chun-Li), Kuroda (Ken), Nitto (Yun)
Note that whenever Kuroda uses Ken he almost always picks SA2 Shinryuken which is Ken's weakest Super Art. Picking SA2 makes Ken less dangerous. Kuroda is known for winning with low tiers but when he picks a top tier character he chooses the weakest Super Art. Lol Kuroda purposely gives himself a handicap. Every other Ken player would pick SA3.
@#3 Sakonoko is not in this because Cammy is not in arcade Street Fighter IV.

C-1 and C-2 seems to be best, but don't count out Shiro's team.
Umehara is going to destroy C-1 alone if they meet, he's showed dominance over Mago, Tokido and every Chun player in Vanilla.

why nuki is not playing sf4?
he has a beast chun li
Posted by BisonBetterBeGoodInSSF4 on August 9, 2010 at 1:48 p.m. #24
C-2 block already won.
Momochi Kindevu and RF are all beast players (first time using the word "beast" lol). plus with Akumas infinite on Sagat and Momochi being the best Akuma player out there, they just can't lose. Im really scared of MDR though. his Rufus is out of control.
Posted by Alfrebaut on August 9, 2010 at 1:58 p.m. #25
MOV, Kuroda... why are they all of a sudden picking top tiers? Kuroda made his name playing low tiers, and him and MOV are already WAY TOO GOOD. I just don't understand.
Posted by kara on August 9, 2010 at 1:59 p.m. #26
wait there's no SSF4? WTF
Posted by MEANWHILE on August 9, 2010 at 2:08 p.m. #27
#26
As previously mentioned, Kuroda picks SA II - which essentialy means Ken is somewhat low tier.

3s is looking FIERCE this year. A lot of strong teams should be very interesting.
HUGE SHOUT OUT TO Biran Su aka the best Vega in America, for bringing Virginia/Maryland to SBO. Wish him the best of luck.

Block C for SF4 is the block of death. All 3 top Akuma players in Japan in the same group is brutal. 3S looks like it's going to be exciting as hell this year, lots of great players (Kuroda using KEN?!? WTF) Also, it seems like last year's champs, Peach Power Boss (C-2), decided to switch it up, with Momochi playing Yun again and Boss getting to use Makoto. Should be hype as hell.
Posted by RandomPlayer on August 9, 2010 at 9:16 p.m. #32
@#26 Alfrebaut
Read what I wrote previously at #13.
The reason why Ken is top tier is because of his SA3. But whenever Kuroda uses Ken he ALWAYS PICKS SA2 Shinryuken which is Ken's weakest Super Art. Picking SA2 makes Ken less dangerous and lower tier. Kuroda is known for beasting with low/mid tier characters (Q, Ibuki, Ryu, Akuma, Dudley etc.). He rarely picks a top tier (Chun, Yun, Ken). Whenever he does pick a top tier character he chooses the weakest Super Art which actually makes them lower tier (SA2 KEN IS NOT TOP TIER). Lol Kuroda purposely gives himself a handicap. Every other Ken player would pick SA3 because it just gives Ken a lot more options.
SBO doesn't limit the players to only one Super Art so it's possible Kuroda might pick SA3 as a trump card. Lol He could have been sandbagging before SBO by always picking SA2. I think he won't though because his SA2 Ken is already beastly and he's got MOV and Nitto as backup. That team is strong.

I'm really excited for the China block. If i remember correctly 2 of the 3 are top KoF players. Xiaohai and Dakou. Chris Hu spoke very highly of them. Does anyone else have any information on these guys?
Posted by RandomPlayer on August 9, 2010 at 10:24 p.m. #34
@36 Desu
That must have been an old video. If I remember correctly he did use SA3 whenever he picked Ken in older matches. He even had a Ken DVD and most of his matches there were with SA3.
However, in his most recent matches with Ken he has been picking SA2. Even in the SBO qualifier he has been picking SA2 Ken.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZJND4...
SBO Qualifier - 2nd Match Kuroda uses SA2 Ken against TM's Q.
Like I said, I could be wrong and it's a possibility that he will pick SA3 at SBO since they don't limit the players to only one Super Art.
Posted by RandomPlayer on August 9, 2010 at 11:02 p.m. #35
LOL MY MISTAKE, forget everything I said earlier (LOL I'm a dumbass). Kuroda probably will pick SA3.
I think Kuroda could have been sandbagging whenever he picked SA2. In the qualifier he eventually OCVed a team with SA3 Ken. However he picked SA2 Ken against low tiers which maybe means that he would pick SA2 against the low tier characters.
Personally, I really wanted Kuroda to pick either Q or Denjin-Ryu(or some other low tier) for SBO. His SA3 Ken is very exceptional too though.
@22 Yea RX should get in this. He seems to have stopped playing for a while. He still has a chance to get in because the B-3 block qualifier and Last Chance block qualifier still didn't happen yet.
@23 Nuki plays more 3rd Strike than Street Fighter IV so he probably only focused on the 3S qualifiers. Many would argue that Nemo's and Haneyama's Chun-Li are as good or better than Nuki's now since he hasn't been playing much SFIV lately.

@3 @4 @13:
It's more like because Sako doesn't leave his house.
@38:
This is Kuroda were talking about. He's about the only guy to make ANY character he uses play like top tier. Besides, Kuroda will probably be OCVing again this year and only MOV will be the back up. Nitto is basically filler.

DSP took 4th place overall and only lost to the 3 people who are going to japan, that tells you something about his skill level even when rusty
