Capcom employees Seth Killian and Christian Svensson recently visited the Unity Boards to dish a little bit of information on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the SSF4 Dojo Edition. Here's the run down.
I've read that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is going to have elements from Street Fighter 4, but the 3 vs 3 style is back... Also read that its going to be completely different from MvC2 as well as different from Tatsunoko vs Capcom?
So of the three, which game would Marvel vs. Capcom 3 resemble most in terms of gameplay?
Seth: There's a lot of stuff flying around, but in terms of SFIV, the biggest similarity is simply in terms of using 3D models with a 2D fighting style.
3v3 is back, and as far as "completely different" from MvC2 I would say that is simply not correct. It ain't. In terms of gameplay, between SFIV, TvC, and MvC2, MvC3 will by far most resemble MvC2.
The SSF4 Dojo edition is selling for $150 online on places like eBay, can we please get a re-release?
Sven: I'll ask Darin to check on this. I'm not sure we'll be able to reup orders production orders at this point or even if we did when they would become available.
Which software are you guys using to get the character models to look the way they do in Marvel vs. Capcom 3?
Sven: Softimage has tended to be the modeling tool of choice for our teams in Japan and Maya for animation.
That said, what you're seeing is some very clever shader work within the MT Framework engine tools.
i saw a japan live stream for super sf4 on justin.tv a couple of days ago.
they were concentrating on makoto and ibuki.

I just whish so hard to see a follow-up to Capcom vs SNK, 'cause Capcom vs SNK 2 was the best of all in my opinion. Seeing the Capcom vs Marvel 3 just makes realizing my wish won't come true (for at least some years...)
indeed. the dreamcast / naomi was (is?) a beastly machine for fighters. :)
good news. i guess Capcom knows nobody wants MvC3 to play like TvC. now release some damn gameplay vids already so we can see for ourselves

couldn't get into mvc2 despite being into every other sf there ever was... it was just too crazy to flashy..
when i heard its gonna be mix with sf4 gameplay.. i'd thought a lot of fadc's!!!!!!!! maybe a baroque system...
maybe they should just tone down the ultras.. to like 1 or 2 a round like in sf4

Yawhhhhnnn now that super street fighter 4 is out the bordes been light lol @ use for loving that game so much poor marvel vs capcom 3 ill get it but is so not for adults with its crazy gimmicky ish and online no matter how good you are some one masters a great exploit and cheeses you to all hell so you cheese him back so capcom marvel vs capcom 3 is lame if you 25 and up and snk vs capcom 3 is where its at even though I don't care about either now that I have this wonderfull super street fighter 4 in my life.... sprry capcom its ok but not all that so what's new with SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4?

I'm so glad its going to be more like mvc2. Generally speaking I enjoy a slower more methodical fighter but when I play mvc I want speed and over-the-topness. I'm really excited for this game.
cant wait for mvscap THREE! sssf4 was my first fighting game n im already owning and now i have a whole year til marvel comes out ive seen mvc2 videos and i have the game on xbox 1 but i wont waste time learning it ill just wait for 3 bc its gonna be like SF4! cant wait to see all the ultras i hope wolvirene has his movie costume and spidey has venom
