A number of people have reported that they've grabbed an official copy of Super Street Fighter 4 today.
Reminds me of when I got KOF a week before release from a store.. but that game was awful.
You're not suppose to say anything god. Geeze stop ratting out your local game stores. They get it early but they are not ALLOWED to sell it until the release date that's how it works. It's illegal for them to do so and your online account will probably get banned if you play the game online earlier than the release date. Like I got my copy 2 days ago in Toronto but, the store owner was very selective of who he was going to sell the game to. I've been going there for years so it's kind of like that kind of deal. But just keep it to yourself or all the Mom and Pop game stores will close down.

Some of you are talkin' about how your online accounts will be banned if you play online before the launch date, but that's not true for PS3 owners. Another reason why PS3>XBOX. You can't pirate blu ray discs, so if PS3 players go online to play SSFIV before launch date, nothing is going to happen. Only thing Sony/Capcom will say is... "Oh, they get their copies early. Whatevers..." Haha.

@ #68 They only do even changes. No cash/money refunds. If you reserved a copy elsewhere, I'd suggest getting a refund from that place first before heading down to Gameplay. Besides, it shouldn't be a problem getting a full refund for your pre-order since April 27th isn't here yet. Gamestop gives you a full refund no matter what. Even if you want a refund 3 months after launch date.
I would rather wait till the actual day to enjoy the game. Besides... waiting for when the day comes will be all the more rewarding.

Some guys in belgium, netherland and UK play SSF4 since 2 weeks. A lot of shops in europe import games from one of these countries. Capcom france tries to stop the process until... today.
The "day one" for this type of game is just a joke in Europe. We have the game one or two weeks earlier if you know the right shop. Vanilla SF4 was sold 10 days before the official day. Same for PES, MGS, RE5, FIFA, FFXIII. The only company wich can lock is distribution effectively is sony. They can protect the distribution until the 48 hours before day one.
Most of the players don' t play online to avoid troubles for the reseller. But most of the recent video you show in event hubs from europe come from official SSF4.
I got mine yesterday from Game Play in Long Beach, CA.

I would'nt risk it even if you have a legit copy. There is no real way for Microsoft to know you have a legit copy. To be safe they will ban you anyways, then you would have to go though all the bs to prove to them that it's a legit copy (Mail receipt ect.) By the time your Xbox 360 is unbanned the game will probably be a month old now from offical release date.
In otherwords, DO NOT GO ONLINE! Just wait till Midnight of the 27th. One of my friends has an early copy but is not playing online until the 27th (well it's pirated :P )

Well when I called yesterday to Venice Game Play, they said the 360 copies were completely sold out, but there were still PS3 copies available. I'm gonna head out there myself today since it's only about 20 minutes away from my house, but I suggest you call them at 10 because that's when they open. Good luck :)

I live in Manhattan. I got mine yesterday because I heard one person in the BX got their's. I called up a friend of mine that has a good relationship with a Mom and Pop uptown and let him know if a store in the Bronx has theirs already maybe your spot will. He gives them a call and heads over to the place. Get's a grin from the owner, the owner heads to the back and voila...two copies of Super for 360. I love when a plan comes together.

UK people as Akyne said, none of them had it. I went to ASDA and Tesco. After they said they do not have it in stock, I asked about breaking street date. They said no chance if they get caught its a hefty fine and someone could risk losing their job. So looking grim for us UK folk... but if anyone does hear or know about anything let us know.
I know a games store near my university which I have been passing though since I was young. I should be getting my copy of Super Street Fighter IV on Thursday 29th April for £25. I got the number of the store and the address which is down the road from my university which I gratitude from The guy told me on the phone that he has to wait for delivery which comes between 12am-1pm he took my contact details down and he will give a call when it's in the store.
The bad thing is I have to go to work on that day and I start at 2pm. On the 30th it's my day off and pay day. so I guess there no point for me. I will still continue to wait or pick it up on Saturday nothing special.

Same here, although I called a friend that manages one and told him that all the independent stores around his are selling it as soon as it arrives. He told me that there is a conference call for all the GS store managers today and he's going to mention that street date is being broken and they stand the chance to lose reserves due to it.

i know at least 7 - 8 people close friends or family who work in supermarkets, two different tescos and 1 asda. asked them all and first of all they havent even got them in stock yet and second of all it doesnt pay because its not as simple as getting it and giving u a copy they cant scan it because it comes up as not available to sell. Have you even got a copy yourself? USA got them in mostly friday because game sells tuesday, what game store or even supermarket would stock them a whole week early? They didnt even do that for MW2.
