More information on Super Street Fighter 4's Tournament Mode DLC

Capcom put out new details on the free Tournament Mode DLC pack for Super Street Fighter 4 which will be released on June 15, 2010. First off there's a trailer which showcases the title's various online modes.

Here's a bulleted run down of what was revealed today.

• Tournament Mode is a head-to-head in single-elimination tournament with brackets, with works with 4 or 8 players.

• You can watch other tournament matches in progress while you're waiting for your turn and voice chat. Players competing can hear you as well, but if it annoys you, there's a mute option.

• To help with lag, spectators will be a little bit behind the actual match that's being played.

• Tournament Mode works with SSFIV's extensive recording feature.

• There are no battle points or rankings, but Tournament Mode will give players unique and special online titles, which can be won and lost from other players.

• Like SSFIV's other online modes, character selection is double-blind.

• Tournaments will continue on even if a participating player drops out.

• While the max amount of people a tournament can hold is 8 players, a 9th person can be there as the host. If the host drops, another will be found.

GameTrailers also interviewed Yoshinori Ono about the DLC pack.

Total sales numbers, possibly so. But how many sales will be attributed to used/secondhand sales with little to no profit to the original developer/publisher? In that respect, I believe that Super IV will probably do its fair share of market-stompage, especially when there's that much additional content over and beyond what was offered he first time...and for only $40, rather than $60.

Also, the release of MvC3 will drop a deuce on whatever steps to it. Just saying.

Well im pretty stoked about this tournament mode, seems perfect for a series that has almost perfected fighting games with online play. Im just hoping that the tournament mode doesnt lag along with the endless battle, it seems like most of the modes just multiply the chances of lag so they'll just best be played with friends only.

This game keeps getting better. BTW, check with your store where you pre-ordered it from, or other stores in your area. A few Gamestops are doing Midnight launches. It's kinda last minute, but if Eventhubs wants the info we can start posting store in our area that are doing midnight launches and relay the info here or a thread dedicated to it. If you haven't reserved it yet, or want to place your reserve at a store that is midnight launching, a list might help.

i really wanted a grad point exactly like arcade version so we can have grand master and master like japan.the feature that allows you to record matvhes or watch current match is a genuis idea since people can learn from the mistakes of their friend aand at the same time find weaknesses on an opponent.mark my world this SSF4 gonna THE SF we all waiting for .cheers

Finally a proper tournament mode.
not that load of crap that was championship mode for vanilla IV that was basically win a few times in a row to get more points.
This is the true tourney mode, just like HDR.

Max 8 people kinda sucks but better than nothing.

even though we have to wait a while for the mode, it is FREE!!

and everything else that comes with it from the start like replays(though no offline replays) and team battle and endless battle. Mad Hype.

Pick your main and start practicing.

this sounds awesome. they should add team tournaments down the line as well. if lag is an issue with the amount of players, just make it so u cant chat and spectate til the semis or somethin
