@#2 Prolly free if I remember, Amazon has a thing for free delivery if you buy more then $50 worth of stuff IIRC.
I might buy one of these in the future, but for now I want to know just one thing: How good are the new FightPads? I'm really curious about those controllers. :9
Release date shipping for me was just under $6. "Super saver" shipping is the free one, which is standard shipping time. Amazon Prime (a paid subscription service) lets you ship things faster for cheaper, but you have to use it fairly often for it to be worth the subscription.
If you want to play on PC, get the 360 one. The PS3 stick works too, but it's picky with mobos.
I order my Fightstick this past friday. With super saver shipping, and no tax. Pretty good deal right there. I should be getting by the end of the week. Hopefully.
I was waiting a while to find a deal on a fightstick, because 150 seemed a bit too much for ANY type of controller for me. So im pretty happy right now.
FYI everyone:
If you are in the SoCal area, or know where a Fry's Electronic is at, they are selling the TE Fightsticks Round 2 for $99. I would recommend going there in person to see if they have any left, as calling them always lead to "No we don't have anymore in stock"
I called a couple Fry's around my area and they all said it was out of stock, but when I went there in person I saw a huge stack of the TE Fightsticks Round 2 on the top shelf...hahah
The release date delivery charge is $5.98. I think the price is dependent on your location as well. They take $3 off the MSRP of $39.99 to begin with so it comes out to be 20 cents less than it would have cost with tax if I picked it up at a local store. You do get a bit of extra value with the $10 credit and costumes as opposed to stupid sock puppets from Gamestop.
Seeing as the game has been gold for a while here is hoping they don't screw up delivery.
@stubbs sometimes the SE just doesn't wanna work. my friend bought a new mother board and still can't get his SE to work but 360 sticks are plug and play on windows pretty much
hey everyone im kinda new to using arcade sticks and i was just wondering where i could get a decent stick in the UK? (ive always used ps3 pads but i think nows the time to change :D)
Just got mine yesterday...
Man, I don't know about this...my modded 360 pad feels way better than my TE stick...
obviously it's gonna take longer than a day to adjust, and I can already ex Hurr./dash/Ultra but playing defense is a b*tch...
takes so much longer to crouch back on this thing...
P.S. is it normal to have a few scratches on the white bezel? I also hear a light squeaky noise when I dash down...
is this normal?
@22
Trust me. EVERYONE goes through the frustration/doubt phase.
Coming from a fightpad, I thought I would never be better on a TE stick than I was on a pad. It seemed to take more effort for pulling out stuff that required minimal movement on a pad. For instance, pulling off FA's reliably was really difficult at first since I have to move my hands in a way I couldn't easily get back to other buttons. BUT, once I stuck with it for a month or two, I have never looked back. My execution feels snappier and I feel like I have more control (except double qcf from 1P side is still excruciating for me).
In short, my advice is to stick with it (which is the same advice I got when I vented to others).
The key is finding the right grip for you.I use a modified wineglass grip (#1 at: http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2009/... )
P.S. I had a little ding on the white part as well. I think it's just poor QA on Mad Catz's part.
After 15 years with a pad, transitioning to a stick was very difficult for me. In the past, any stick that was offered on a console was garbage so I was reluctant to buy one. I remember buying a stick for sf2 (by madcatz) that felt cheap, too loose, and empty - like there wasn't anything inside it. It had inaccurate and muddy controls too. A total rip off joke. This has been the running joke about stick for the last 2 decades until the fightstick came out.
I ended up getting the og te fightstick because of the positive reviews. I immediately found that it had superior response and control but it felt like I was playing a stick coated in butter. It felt too floaty and loose. This was simply because I wasn't used to superior control and had been playing everything on a pad forever, where I had to take button shortcuts and mash certain things. I remember going online to fight and getting destroyed. What was and has been the hardest thing for me to lean is to NOT mash when I panic. It was discouraging but over time I have gotten better. Even though I'm not quite comfortable with it, it is absolutely clear to me that the fightstick is superior and it will just take time to get used to it.
Bottom line - it's a tough transition for most but it is vital if you want to actually be good at the game. Disclaimer - I know there are some great pad players out there, so I apologize if your offended but the vast majority of top level players use a stick.

thanks for the link: http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2009/...
Does anyone else have any advice to become better with a stick?
@ jchiss
Both are, but there might potentially be problems with the PS3 sticks (nothing that can't be fixed)... I'd go with the Xbox 360 just to be safe.
To me, switching from pad to stick was pretty easy. I hadn't really spent time with fighting games since SNES days playing Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Killer Instinct, and those were done all on the SNES pads (I tried playing ST on arcade at Wal-mart but wasn't used to the controls). Then Smash Bros. for the N64 and Melee for the GC, but I didn't really have a fighting mentality playing those, they were mostly in the party/fun category for me. Anyway, I got SF4 for Christmas last year. It took me about a month and a half to get competent at the game with the Xbox 360 pad as that's the only thing I had. During that time I saw the limitations of the pads in general when it came to SF (and not just the Xbox 360's d-pad, but the button layout is horrendous), told my brother about it and he bought me an SE stick (with upgraded Sanwa parts) his friend was selling. Of course it took a while to get used to, but another 1 and a half months has rolled around and I am so much better now than I was using the pad, and I believe better than I ever could have been on the pad. This was how SF was meant to be played after all. Anyway, if you've been using nothing but pad and been playing for years.... it may not be worth it, but it also may be so on the other hand. If you've spent just a few months playing with pad, and want something better, sticks are a no brainer. The improvement is not immediate, it comes eventually. It's kind of like re-learning SF again, but also un-learning some (bad) things.
So how big of a difrence is the fightstick from a 360 controller?
I was a pad player back with the SNES, and coudnt really use the 360 d-padfor annything but dash, it's garbage. So I went for the joystick ont he controller, Impretty decent with it, but can it be that much difrent from a fightstick?
I was a huge arcade rat back in the 90's. I didn't play anything but Street fighter(s) 2, and King of fighters. So im hopeing that its a similar feeling.
A lot more pad players here than I thought O_O
I just got a stick last summer and to be honest I would never prefer a pad over stick now. But it should be noted that the difference isn't SO ridiculous that playing with a pad should be considered a big disadvantage of any sort. So if after a few weeks you REALLY can't get used to a stick, I'd say don't sweat it and just continue using your pad of choice, whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
@ 31 stick for the win, I started playing with a pad, but then I tought to try the stick out so I bought the TE stick, first it was so frustrating to play with it, now I have more than two months with it and I gotta say it is amazing, pulling out of the moves it's a lot better, strings, motions, reaction, combos everything is a lot better to do with a stick. For those who just got into the stick and think that it sucks so far because of frustration I say keep practicing cause once you get into it you'll never want to switch back to the pad.
Does anyone know if the Hori Real arcade pro (HRAP) ex-se is good or better then the te sticks?? thank you
Oh God, if I have much money... TE is my dream.
So now I'll stuck on my Dualshock gamepad. Of course PS Dualshock is still awesome for fighting games. No problem for six buttons games, I still can handle it with R1 and R2. The problem is just shortcut for PPP and KKK on L1 and L2.
i am a pad player and would like to know the 5 best sticks available, where to get them in the uk and if it's more responsive because i main el fuerte and i cannot do the rsf or some of his trials on a pad and it is very infuriating because i have 2 trials left for him and have been stuck on them for like 6 months, hard trials 4 and 5....does a stick really make that much difference for a motion character because i see the benefits foe a charge quite easily.
For those of you wondering, the original TE designs are nearly the same thing as the Black and White TE "S" FightSticks.
The newer FightSticks have a different design, a different PCB (circuit board) and are a little smaller dimension wise. For some people, that's worth the extra dough, but if you want to save some money the original TE sticks are still awesome.
The Round 2 TE FightSticks are almost identical to the originals, except they have a different design.
