I have to disagree with the majority. Sorry! There are some that would fit the chars (( my favs being alpha costumes and dudleys)) but others are just plain "why" IE: Sakura... get over it fanboys. it may be hot in a fantasy, but the developers arnt gonna give her boobs big enough to fill out THAT costume. But i have to admit, the images are edited awesomely so i give them props for that.

Guile/CapCom and Guy/Strider are the ones I wish for most. Chun-Li and Cammy both should have gotten their Alpha outfits.
Ken and Guy are just amazing in those costumes, what a shame that fans have AMAZING ideas compared to the actual heads of the game, disappointing, But good job on these pics!!
My favorites are Commando Guile, Ace attorney Ken, and Maki Sakura. But instead we got Resident evil Guile, Cowboy Ken, and barely an alternate Sakura.
The first set of outfits were nice. Some still kind of bad but this new set shows too many signs of lackluster creativity and missing the target for that characters persona.
Case in Point:Vega--He's supposed to be Fabulous not some war general in WW1.

Funny coincidence, had a dream about having a SSF4 arcade cabinet in my apartment, and Makoto had an alt like that (this was before seeing this).

Firstly amazing job to the artist, i saw these in Capcom-Unity first and i was blown away. Some costumes here are indeed better than the official, others not so much (as ideas) IMO.
Yet i think people need to chill with the complains cause i am sure Seth, Ono and the rest at Capcom have had enough with the constant b****. Sure, not everything can please us but come on people, they do the best they can with the time, budget and amount of people they have to work with.
Sakura in a Maki costume is silly in my opinion, for example. And Makoto's alt in SSF IV is better than this one, again in my view. Also i tend to love Cowboy Ken.
In any case i just think we ought to be happy that SSF IV is such an awesome overall game and stop complaining over the small stuff. If Capcom had used some of the costumes above i am sure than most people would still be complaining

Ken's outfit!!! OMG! Why didn't they stick with that Idea. That's exactly how I would've liked Ken to look. Plus the Pony tail instead of that mullet.
C. Viper: Trashy, looks like a whore.
Chun Li: How original, the Alpha costume. I'd rather have some new stuff.
Cody: I like the one he has now, but this one is pretty cool.
El Fuerte: Looks too much like his original.
Cammy: See Chun Li.
Ken: Awesome.
Boxer: What he has now is much more exciting.
Dan: He's as much based on Ryo as on Robert, so why just throw subtlety to the wind and make him exactly like just Robert?
Ibuki: Before her alt was revealed I thought this was gonna be it. I like it as much as the one she has now.
Sakura: Completely random tribute to another character. Makes as much sense as dressing up Ryu as Eagle.
Dudley: ...Moving on.
Gouken: Seriously? Just sticking him in a regular gi? That's the most boring idea ever. Holy crap.
Guile: Guile as a superhero? I like it. And it works because he got glasses he can put on and off again.
Abel: Funny. The Roberto colors are clever too.
Guy: Nice, and it makes sense because he's a ninja.
Makoto & Sagat: Meh, not too bad, not too good.
Brilliantly done. I liked most of these alts. Especially Ken's outfit is quite impressive, so as captain commando guile. but can't say the same thing for dudley and viper. Although, it seemed a nice idea for me to see dudley clad like a classical boxer,wearing usual/old-fashioned boxer shorts, but can't say it would fit him.

Sorry to be a dissenting opinion that everyone will pass as trolling again, but I agree pretty hard with #35. There might be some copyright issues, and almost all of the costumes are unoriginal. The Sakura one, for instance, is just plain fanservice. These costumes should NOT be in SSF4.

Don't pay attention to these nubs, some people don't know how to give constructive criticisim, and most of them just hating because these pieces is ten times better than most of these clowns can create.
Im an artist myself so I understand, but how did you replicate the sketch part like capcom did? What tools did you use? I wanted to get back into my art, would like to know what supplies I need to pick up from my art store.

I appreciate the work that went into these. Also very nice to see at least WHY KAiWAi went for this and that, but for me most of these pictures are kinda bad. Not because the ideas are bad themselves (well Maki-Sakura is horrible) but the photoshopping just seems really.. "uneven".
The ones I like the most are subtle ones like Abel and Sagat, but then again I definitely wouldn't pay for something so minor as changing Abel's gi for a jersey. Keep up the good work I guess.

I did't use any specific tools. It's just copy/paste, copy/paste and copy/paste again from the Capcom's artworks. Nothing really spectacular. ^___^
So, as Kurdijef says, sometime it looks nice because I really took my time, sometime it's bad, with light and shadow problems because I was in a hurry. ;-)

If that was Guy's costume in SSFIV then I'd definitely main him, if nothing else by that costume alone! And I agree with the idea that ken should have been given the CEO costume theme instead of a lame cowboy one.

while some of them are good ideas, lets not go overboard. i dont think capcom is looking to hire people based on their ability to edit some one elses drawings in photoshop. so relax on that front guys and just enjoy the ideas and concepts he presents. i like the vega one the best.
Wow, these are much better than the alternates that Capcom has, I'd really like to see THESE in SSF4 as well as the ones already included. I wish there was enough time for you to submit these to capcom and have them put them in the game. Amazing job.

Sorry, C.Viper looks like a slut and it's terrible- she's a mother not a whore. Some are OK- IE: Dudley's I can see, Chun, and Guy would be cool.

great artwork its fantastic! one costume doesn't make sense though...the sakura/maki outfit. it just doesn't fit her. still it looks good. the Viper outfit is...a bit of a mixed bag (lol she does look pretty). thanks for postin this its been a real eye feast. who knows maybe one day we'll see this in the game via DLC. if it is then i would gladly pay for it. keep up the good work & hope we see some more. peace :)

These are very good. Cammy and Chun Li remind me of them from their Alpha days but some such as Guile and Guy share tribute to other CAPCOM characters who need some love like Capt. Commando and Strider. The others not so much though Balrog is awesome but Dudley is... I can't say. Ken's real sweet and a fitting tribute to GS4's own Apollo Justice. GS stands for Gyakuten Saiban or Ace Attorney.

merc9nine, if you can do any better..i'd like for you to post them up at event hubs, anytime. these alt costumes are way better than most of the ideas for alt costumes have done in the past(ie the old costumes, most of them were trash.) 2nd, i think capcom needs fresh ideas like these instead of doing these idiotic attempts at dlc(ie ken cowboy? ryu's aikdio outfit, wtf? makoto farm worker, hawaiin dan?) i mean, some of the alternates simply don't make any sense is all i'm saying. you can tell little, to no effort went into these, where on the other hand..this guy here you can tell is a true fan, and thought about TRUE alt costumes to these chars, instead of being as lazy as capcom is.

unfortunately i have a job, also as an artist for games so i dont really have time to do this, although i apparently have time to respond to this and check this site for updates every 15 minutes. photoshop is a pretty powerful tool and can do this relatively easily with minimal talent. not quickly mind you and thats not to say that he isnt talented. as i stated at least twice that i thought they were well done. i said the problem is people who dont know the process behind the art, and think that just having ideas should get people jobs.
i have an idea, why dont they make an iPad like device with a stylus, that only runs photoshop, 3dmax, after effects, and other art programs and you could have a digital sketch pad to bring with you everywhere. do i deserve a job at Adobe or Apple? i wish that was how it worked.

merc9, i was exaggerating a bit when i said capcom should hire him, it was a joke. second, what he did isn't what i was merely applauding, i was looking at where he went with his imagination. he kept all the alt costumes within capcom, come on..he put claw in geki's outfit, and put a okami mask on him, that my friend..is surely overlooked by capcom when it comes to dlc. they seem to pump out any raggedy idea as long as they can charge people for it. if the alt costumes where anywhere near, half as good as what i've seen other people do with their ideas, then i wouldn't say a word. capcom could use some suggestions when it comes to things like this is all i'm saying, maybe a poll or something for alt cost suggestions.

Agreed. This guy doesn't know how to draw, if he did he wouldn't have cut and paste most of these from other sources, recolor even rehash the original SFIV art.
Some of them are good ideas, but also obvious and plain. Some of the current new costumes (which are a waste of money by the way) have been planned to be made before Super was even announced.
This stuff should have been left on what ever board they came from, this weak DeviantART tracing/recolouring isn't front page material.
i know that and here i am again, apparently i have a butt load of time so i was full of crap earlier about that. what im working on now isnt particularly enthralling as is sometimes the case. but like i said. i like them and they are well done. i have the guile one as my desktop. and i hate guile. i love the vega concept. im just saying, just because we love his work and his concepts, doesnt mean we have to start hating on capcom. i dont think theyre lazy by any means. unfortunately there are just cultural differences that defines what is cool and what isnt, and they are very different from place to place. anyone ever see the advent children movie? why was that guy always crying for his mother?

You're not fully thinking this through. Most of these costume suggestions wouldn't look good with SFIVs artistic cartoon theme applied to them.

Sigh... Ok, I didn't want to comment on this, but seeing these comments I gotta say this; most of these alt. outfits SUCK. I'll say that I like Chun Li and Cammy's (if for just the nostalgic factor) and Guile as Captain Commando and Guy as Strider is cool. But besides those, most of these are just bad ideas. Viper and Ibuki look like background characters for the game and not the actual playable characters. Makoto, Dudley, and Gouken... ok I nether hate nor like the idea for these, but they still sucks because I think there could have been a better ideas for them. Namco's going to have a problem with Vega dressed up like one of their characters. Street Wise was a terrible game, why would you want Cody in that outfit from that garbage. El Fuerte looks more like a cave man than a Luchador. Ken in suit is just a lazy idea. Balrog has way better outfits in Super already. If Dan is going to be in a SNK characters outfit, make it Terry. Sukura and Abel look dumb, and Sagat has nothing to do with MMA, he looks out of place. (Abel would look way better in the MMA outfit.) The Alt. Outfits for Super are way better then most of these IMO.

actually, here's an idea.
on one of the recent streams (the one where the earthquake happened i think) there was a dude who build a new fighting game engine from the ground up.
you two should hook up and develop it further.
but you will need to find someone who can do good BGM and sound fx.
They are all drawn well. The concepts range from good to OK to bad. The C. Viper and Sakura ones I put in the bad column, because they sort of undermine what defines the character. C. Viper in particular seems to be a case of "All fighting game females should look like pin-ups for fanboys to fap to", transforming her from a professional into a streetwalker that has started hanging out with Poison. Sakura has that "Gee, golly" kid-like semi-clumsiness meets sportiness thing that this costume and drawing fail to capture in any way. Cody and Ken are my favs.

I dig the Masked Geki and those are all the ones I'd asked CAPCOM WTF but the others I'm alright with, the guy strider one would be cool
Also, for those who complain about people "hating on Capcom", don't assume that Capcom is a unified happy family. For all you know, Capcom Japan designed the outfits, and Capcom America hated them and wanted something different. That's how it usually was at Nintendo, at least. :D
All of these are excellent, I don't understand why anyone here is hating the concepts. Quite frankly I like most of these more than the officials. Yeah most of these are just role play but then again so are some of the officials. I mean you have Gief's second costume Cammy's third and Blanka's third.Same with Claw mirroring the first ninja. You have ridiculous costumes such as Bison's third and Gief's third. The Guile concept would've fit right in. Kens concept makes more sense, I mean a business man dressed as a cowboy...
