The track is suprisingly decent, although still not as good as the Third Strike rap song :D
I say for a independent rapper he was good and the lyrics really did relate to the average good SFIV player. Now before all the hiphop/rap phobes come crying, Go try and find rock/emo/trash band that can bring SF to musical level(Lyric wise) While you google/youtube it.... ill be enjoying this song!
P.S Juxtapose is a F4GGOT.
hey sounds like every other white rapper i know...it sux to rap and be white lol
Pure garbage, leave that rap stuff for the kids who Modern Warfare 2.
@machineking1313
@Liberator
@juxtapose
THIS is why we don't have anything good, if you don't like it shut the hell up, no one cares. If they put it in the main menu, guess what? You're gonna listen to it E V E R Y S I N G L E T I M E. And if, IF you think you can make something better, then please do. If not gtfo and please kill yourselves. Donate those fightsticks to someone who will actually be decent with them.
GUTTER TRASH!!!!!
Guess what I'm going to be playing in my car on the way to school XD
Kinda sounds like Atmosphere.
@Kangarou the Third Strike rap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iefxrf...
(It's good cuz it's East Coast NYC style underground rap, complete with jazz samples and scratching not this crappy midwestern bs.)
Music-Style doesn't fit the roots of Street Fighter at all, this is how Street Fighter music should sound:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNF1Gh...
Those are whatever.
SSF2HDR had some really good themes.
This is the best rendition of Fei Long's theme ever, it sounds like it belongs in Third Strike.
Akuma has the best SF theme ever in SFthird Strike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdMCVD...
How does that NOT get you pumped?! I love Drum&Bass
I'm alright with rap, but not too fond of the "I own you, I'm awesome, repeat" school, even if it's truer to the origins of the genre. But aside from my own tastes, he starts off talking like he's Ryu, then Dudley, then Ryu again, then Makoto? Focus, man, focus! And top tier with 7/3s against half the cast? I get what he means, he's saying he's awesome in a way familiar to SF fans, but top tier is for characters, not players, and none of those characters were Sagat either. It just sounds dumb.
Caveat emptor: I have the musical ability of a fencepost, rapping or otherwise. I call it like I see it, and that's all.
@ CONSTvaiable23 - Wow you took the lyrics WAY to seriously. He's just using SF lingo to make it sound awesome, & it did.
btw this isn't rap at all, it's hip-hop, there's a HUGE difference.
This joint is tyte the only reason the 3rd strike joints are better is because of how chill they are but this joint for super is super sick...and with the exception of that gay vanilla SF4 song no1 ever complains about about no other music from any sf game =/ please stop the hating and to # 26..."how many many fireballs i hit u with till i beat u to death" CLEARLY SAGAT ...funny how the white rapper doesnt get a break x]
This type music is not my cup of tea, but I must give credit and credit is due; this was damn good impressive and I really enjoyed it. It really hit the notes of SF and that being a fighting game which needs a aggressive music tone. Very nice lyrics
this was acctually funky ...
LOL
they should hire him for the intro song :P
That's pretty hott. Sounds like Eminem. However I prefer T. Double over this dude any day... SCRAMBLE UP......!
Very talented, in my opinion, and I don't care for rap.
I enjoyed it. Best thing they've done for SSF4. Really gets me hyped.
I need lyrics.
A guy sounds like Eminem and then all of a sudden he's copying the style? If a guy has a similar voice what can he do? lol. It's aggressive because it's Street Fighter, the lyrics referenced more than just characters but tiers, techs, attack names (besides GIGATON PUNCH) and it was fun to here that thrown in. It was clever.
On the other side of things, I don't know why people are comparing something fan-made (I know that stuns some of you, somebody actually doing something cool and productive for the community instead of just whining about it), nobody hired this guy lol. That said, that comparison shows that hip-hop is a sound infused into the Street Fighter series and community. A large number of SF players are fans of hip-hop and by the same token many rappers fans of the series in kind. Third Strike, the game most people praise for having the best soundtrack of all the games, is mostly hip-hop and drum and bass/house. Hip-Hop is a part of you fighting game community peeps, so you should just deal with it.
Here are the lyrics:
Lyrics
I'm a beast with a joystick, I'm the best of the best,
I read a punch with an uppercut put a scar on your chest,
I rip your eyes from yo sockets, see I got something to test,
How many Hadokens do I land before I beat you to death,
I rip the east to the west, I got no stop in my quest,
I'll take on EVERY OTHER CHARACTER then kill me a seth,
I got no shortness of breath, You people making me bored,
I'm Dempsey rollin other suckers, throw a rose on your corpse,
You got no Dignity, listen, you gutter trash when I blast,
I'm like a 7-3 match up compared to half of the cast,
And you just b*** and you moan, OH MAN HE'S SO FRIGGEN CHEAP,
I CAN'T JUMP AT THAT THIS CHARACTER, Shut the HELL up, you're free,
I FADC TO ULTRA, I UPPERCUT TO A METSU,
and you ain't a pressing a button, because you know I'ma get you,
I Karakusa to sechusun with a super to boot,
They say Makoto's you're opponent and you tieing a noose,
I'm so sick
that am Iller than every syllable spit,
I'm counting minutes until I feed you the end of my FIST
10 new characters, Ultras, and so much stuff it ain't funny,
when evo comes, you might as well just friggen give me your money,
Top tier and I'm building another massive attack,
April is here, World Warrior's Back,
kudos to the guy who made this tune (i forgot his name lol). sounds good lyrics are good. this is comin from a guy who doesn't regularly listen to hip-hop. ignore all the whinnin haters. they're just jealous. good stuf hope to hear it in the main menu in SSF4. peace :)
Question: for those who are so opposed to this said style of music did any of you play third strike? and secondly, did you enjoy the game?
If the answer is yes then it definitely proves a point that change is good. music is a universal language no matter the tempo or genre no one thing has a specific sound to it. especially since its 2010 the possibilities are endless. doesnt matter if you dont like it just dont derail it as something obscene because you cant relate.
ignorance isnt an excuse for broad claims like that hip hop is global just because you dont like it doesnt mean others dont and i wasnt talking about hip hop specifically i was speaking about music in general.
Notice rap and rock are only two genres theres reggae, country, house, emo, techo, etc. but they all have similar setups so you cant say this styl sucks and this is better because chances are somewhere down the line they merge (ex. Beastie Boys, Run DMC, New Lil Wayne). try and educate yourself about it before you say random foolishness like that.
P.S. rap annd hip hop r different; if hip hop wasnt global Jay-z couldnt tour London and Australia
1st of all i wasn't contesting rap/hip hop globality,
2nd yes its only make sucess on US, just like American football, i also go crazy everytime somebody says "Soccer", the name of the sport is football, how hard is to call the sport by its right name, seriously
3rd just because USA knows how to sell their shi-t around the world it doenst make it a QUALITY thing, Jay-Z goes to London!? Nice to him man, there's a MTV in every country of the world even in China , it make things easier to sell american "artists", not only MTV but it seems that his labels do an EXCELLENT marketing Job Too, cause he is music is kinda lame.
Btw talking about Jay-z...
"Shi-t I made the yankee hat more famous than a yankee can"
omg thats so poetic
keep listening/accepting(and defending) every BS that the media give to you, the singers u said are makin lots money while u are defending them on a video-game site
GG buddy
I really like this song, im acually tryin to look on how am i goin to downlaod it and make my own little montage out of it. and oh, to all of the ppl who said rap/hip-hop is gay, geuss what.... rock, emo, and techno is the worst music ever!!!!! rock: makes no sense, its just a bunch of white screaming, Emo: just kill urself already, what are u waiting for no one cares about you, techno: is for druged up women at the club who get raped behind a dumpster.
if this was a rock or techno/dnb etc song there would probably be less complaining cause that's what everyone is used to but it seems as soon as something is different all of a sudden its the worst thing ever. things change guys whether for good or bad, time will only tell,so for now just deal with it if you don't like it don't listen and if you like it turn it up and kick back!
@KennyStiLOwnZ yo man don't be so stereotypical you should listen to everything with an open mind cause you never know what else you could like if you don't broaden you musical range man
CMA, you're basically tooting your own horn and kind of disregarding an entire genre based on a few bad examples. There are plenty of Jay-Z songs worded quite poetically, but hey... if that's not your style, then let's go with this:
From Sage Francis' Black Out on White Night:
"I know that I'm in love, but I know I'm out of touch
And I know that I get dumb when I can sense something's up
And then I bottom out
European tailspin
Scrawling messages out on my pale skin in hopes they get mailed in
Before the ink poisoning takes effect
And it gets smudged 'cause I budge before letting paint set
I get judged by the ones who have shelter and rain checks
While I trudge through the mud because this foreign terrain's wet
Regain consciousness, then lose common sense
The ominous, dark skies that lie between me and Providence are signs
The obvious answer isn't standing on your face with stilettos on
If you pop the question wrong
Every song's a post afterthought, but I won't grab the chalk
To outline my body of work
Toe tags get caught in my teeth 'cause my foot is in my mouth
And the spurs are in my words, so my tongue can't dismount
Even after our rapport had fully run its course
I couldn't figure out the most heroic time to jump from the horse
And place this old hat for the last time on the coat rack
But I'd donate all my earnings from the race just to know that
Resisting urges to go back and get it later
Like the milk would unsour itself in the refrigerator
A wet boy in a dry, dry state
On an old country road where tradition has a blind date
I'll make it dance on its own grave tonight
With a change of direction by the pale moonlight
And if it needs theme music, I'll break out the bagpipes
Play a tune you ghostwrote me in a past life that goes like ..."
Look. You either like my song or you don't. I can understand that. I don't own bitches. I don't drive rims. I'm just an artist, and if you don't believe me listen to Abigail Winters or Quarterhouse Kings and then tell me that all I do is brag and talk smack on people.
If you don't like the song, that's fine. But to disregard an entire Genre of music due to a few bad examples is not only childish it's unnecessary. Even people who hate modern rock music will still throw chuck berry album on from time to time... And are you telling me that because you're not a fan of psychadellic rock that "Rocky Racoon" by the beatles should just by and by be disregarded altogther?
If you see my point, I'm not so much trying to argue FOR my song as much as for giving the genre of hip hop a chance by listening to the right material. I hope you guys liked the song and enjoyed it, and I made it to get people hyped up.
For those of you that enjoyed, thanks. There will be a lot more coming very soon ;)
@Her0
you speak the truth....ill listen to anything as long as itz good ..nd this is goood
@ red rapper
Thank you for that was totally necessary, people dont see the genre as an art form because all they hear is what they choose to hear and not whats really there.
@ CMA
you quote one line thats not even the full bar from the song and much less a song about new york...
alright i got poetic for you from the same track
"don’t bite the apple Eve,
caught up in the in crowd,
now you're in-style,
and in the winter gets cold en vogue with your skin out,
the city of sin is a pity on a whim.
good girls gone bad, the city's filled with them,
Mommy took a bus trip and now she got her bust out,
everybody ride her, just like a bus route,
Hail Mary to the city your a Virgin,
and Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends"
and marketing cant happen unless people WANT to hear what the artists have to say it would be bankruptcy if the market in anywhere besides the USA and they DIDNT like the music so your point about marketing is weak.
and yes ima argue about musci hear because its something i enjoy just like video games and ill speak to defend it.
LOL @ the football comment im Jamaican so we call it football too but its called diversity learn about it not everything is the same around the world.
redrapper sed it
basically - even if u dont like it - at least respect it - cos the guy didnt just find dem lyrics - he spent time makin them, perfectin his flow, establishin his delivery, balancin the syllables - its harder than a lot of other genres u kno
the name's Koolassjoe. @Redrapper... This is serious work. Good stuff.
I never post but this topic actually got me open. Im an old school gamer. Old school Rapper. South Bx, New York, USA. (Dont hate me yet) I cant stand RAP music anymore. The hip hop in me died along time ago. I started high school when SFII changed the world. Ive heard plenty of verses since then (@1992 till today) that referenced Street Fighter and this track is serious. Delivery seemed a little rushed but good work is Good Work. I understand the love & hate this topic is receiving but eventually you guys should broaden ya skills and find something to hate that isnt related to something you love. Its a Street Fighter song that isnt J-POP. be happy its in english (or is it in "American"...)
Ive sampled a few times from the series myself and probably could make a few songs worthy of forum destruction but i would have no idea how to get it as far as Redrapper has. Its an excellent piece. Its too new school for me cause im out of the loop with the Rap nowadays. But i can respect what it takes to make music. Especially if you got love for what you rapping about. The song demonstrates how far both the game & the SF community can create new levels of excellence. As 4 rap and rock etc. Grow up people. Its all the same. Each genre has its own distinctions... DUH!!! But the general ideal has always been sounds, rythym and politics. To each his own.
Now... I wonder if theres a good TEKKEN Rap out there...? I guess not.
@RudyHorse
Thanks for the lyrics.
@red rapper
I appreciate the effort and what the song has done. It has gotten me hyped up so at least that is one fan satisfied. I also listen to your world warrior track and loved that as well.
OMG! HE'S SO FREACKING CHEAP! I CAN'T JUMP @ THIS CHARACTER!
Shut the hell up, you're FREE!
LOOOL
so hes a Ryu player, saying everyone bitches too much. F*** this guy.
i have been seeing some of the most ignorant things ever here. First French Spanish Japaneses Korean and Chines. I haven't left us soil in years and even i know rap artiest that sing in these launges and respectively those countries that speak those launges . Next the original song was made by Just blaze same guy that helped out Jay Z for god sake what were you expecting some one to remake it into a slow song...(Although the idea might be funny) Not gonna happen. Finally If you don't like rap music WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU LISTEN TO A GUY NAMED REDRAPPER seriously what did you expect to hear a violin solo!!!
Great job red love the song i might try to create a music video out of it and try to send it to you later hub
I register for this so I better make this good. Rap like any other music in world has good songs and bad songs. That said this is good and redrapper i appreciate the effort you put in it. People who don't like just because is rap are showing themselves to be moronic. It like me seeing a movie I don't like and then saying all movies suck. If you don't like rap okay, but if you say all rap sucks maybe you need to be punched in head cause it obvious your just looking for a fight.
I prefered this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw5AkQ...
Wow... that was just beyond gay.
