I think a new vs serious would be better, with a well known other company (not like TvC) or a "Capcom vs All Stars" featuring some characters of all other vs games released so far. that would be awzum

I think it's safe to say that since SSFIV is coming out, and Vs games only do well in America, MvC3 is done by a much smaller team.

As such, I hope the game remains sprite-based (or at most - redrawn) so that the developers could focus on adding new levels and about 20-30 new characters and then spend the majority of their time re-balancing and removing infinities and other broken things instead of just redoing the established characters in 3D.

It would also be neat if they add a new mechanic and graphic effect ala the focus system and the inky effect in IV as well as damage scaling should new infinite's be discovered.

p.s. I hope the graphic above is a good representative of who might be in the game. I hope for Oro, but I'm not stupid.

Also.

I live in Hawaii so if anybody knows when/where Captivation is being held here I would be forever grateful.

Eventhubs already proved itself with the rumors for Super Street Fighter IV, so I believe this holds a lot of weight. I am looking to see how this will look and really hope that the game has a much better balance this round.

Guys, all this means is that there is a build of SSFIV that runs on Windows. That would be standard practice, just like Apple had a build of Mac OS that ran on Wintel hardware ten years before that came to pass. This has no bearing at all on whether or not it ever gets released. That hasn't been decided yet.

A new Capcom vs game would be cool, but I'd like to see something else like Capcom Fighting All-Stars, only with a unified system for every character as opposed to every character having their own.
That's just me. I'm probably one of the only people who liked Capcom fighting all-stars.

#26 LOL how did EventHubs prove anything with the SSF4 rumors? All they did was reprint someone else's info, with no way of knowing whether it was real or not. Sure, Henaki has a good track record, but EH has nothing to do with that.

Good news, but why MvsC ? Darkstalker is much better....

I'd love a Capcom Vs. Arcsys. Make it 2v2 game with select characters from SF, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, and some other non fighting Capcom games(Dante from DMC and Gene from God Hand) then select characters from Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Battle Fantasia. Maybe a Last Blade character too(since Ishiwatari pretty much got his start at those games, it could be a possibility to bring back Kaede, Amano, or Hibiki despite being SNK characters)?

Give it the best elements of BlazBlue and SSFIV(the newest games the companies have created) and then throw in all of the awesome Versus series stuff too. Like all of the stuff they did for both versions of TvC(game mechanics-wise, music-wise, bonus games, etc.).

I think something like that would be a lot more interesting and refreshing than making another MvC.

I would like to see Capcom vs Dragon Ball that would be really insane. Can you imagine hodouken vs kamehameha!!!!

How about an actual NAMCO vs CAPCOM instead of the Final Fantasy Tactics style of NAMCO x CAPCOM had?

@29 They stated that the guy that gave them rumors for Super is the same guy that is giving them rumors for this. That guy gave rumors way back in September for Super and just about all of it was correct. Pretty much the main reason this site became one of my go to site for Capcom info.

Tekken vs. CAPCOM is a bad idea. Most characters in Tekken don't have moves that are really unique like hadokens, sonic booms, or lightning kicks. It's mostly different styles of kicks and punches. It would also won't work as a 2D fighter.

(i know a lot of you hope it will be 2d again but truth is it wont. 2d is practically dead. also in general people prefer 3d over 2d nowadays. the only 2d games left out there, are on the nintendo ds, for obvious reasons.)

(Since it will most likely be in 3d, we will be looking at a roster roughly 24 to 30 characters, just because anything after that would be just plain broken. capcom would not waste man power to include 60 characters, its just not worth it.)

(im willing to bet anything it would be closer to mvc than mvc2. simply because of the 3d factor also. the roster probably wont be that big. to tell you the truth i wouldn't be surprised if they reduced it 1v1. it would still sell millions.)

Because tatsunko characters cant hold a candle to marvel characters. How could u compare them? yatterman versus aahh IRON MAN, doronjo versus rogue? cmon now. And with the giant characters u could have alot to choose from with marvel, apocalypse anyone?

Since Disney owns Marvel's rights the their characters, has Capcom agreed to put in a couple Kingdom Hearts characters in order finalize the deal? It might give it a cartoony Tatsunoku vibe, but who said that was a bad thing?

Kingdom hearts characters are lame, there final fantasy rejects and there characters are mad gay to begin with.

My return was inevitable but it seems necessary since this guy wants to act like his rumors have always been correct when I spotted errors in his last list.

MVC3 or DVC will not be announced until at least E3 2010(June 15-17) after the Ironman 2 hype has died down

Of course Marvel vS Capcom 3 is in the works. MvC2 sold extremely well according to Seth himself and generated positive buzz and great reviews. Capcom is going where the real money is, its not a time for them to take risks - especially with games such as Bionic Commando, Dark Void (HD consoles) and even Tatsunoko Vs Capcom either selling poorly or average. If SSF IV sells as good as SFIV then you bet they will make Hyper SF IV soon.
Ono said he would love a Darkstalkers game but it doesn't seem to me that he has much of a voice within Capcom despite his position - proof is in his own words, the fact that he had to beg for Rolento and R.Mika for SSF IV and yet nothing, he also begs for Darkstalkers apparently yet a MvC 3 makes more sense to them financially.

I wonder what type of difficulties, if any, Disney's ownership of Marvel will create. Especially since Disney is keen on making their own games.

Oh and to those who still wonder is a MvC 3 will be traditional 2D sprites, the answer is obviously no. They said they loved the reception 2.5D received and since they already have perfectly capable 2.5D engines why do it the hard way and go traditional 2D? Besides, if there is one game that should take full advantage of this its MvC 3, it will surely bring all its wackiness out

And jubilee and nightcrawler and the updated version of iron man sound nice for marvel. while Capcom side I'd like to see some of the new sf4 characters like viper Rufus or Abel, maybe a few alpha and ST characters like deejay balrog and Cody. Doesn't guy vs stryder sound dope.my favorite part of mvc2 was seeing my favorite characters special moves and supers thrown out or poportion. Like ryus super being a giant blast or hulk bringing a meteor from space lmao I'm gettin nostalgic :)

I'm sure they'll bring out an CvS3 but for now its all about MvC3. Can't wait.

Lets hope both rumors are true, I prefer playing StreetFighter on PC anyway, dont wanna pay a monthly fee for XBOX-Live just to be able to play SSF4 online.

I'm definitely on the CvS3 bandwagon.

The only reason it's less popular is because it didn't get a wide release in North America. Unless you've got a Dreamcast or you picked up one of the rare copies for the PS2, you've probably never played it.

I don't know why everyone hates on CvS2. It's faster paced than SF, but it doesn't have all the ridiculous imbalance that MvC2 has. Everyone needs to download a Dreamcast emulator and play it.

You guys just jump on the bandwagon believing unfounded RUMOURS and I believe as a human being with some sense of decency, you should have your hopes crushed by common sense.

It just doesn't make sense to make a pc version of the game...Looking at sales figures, and how many copies were pirated, it just seems insane.

CVS3 would be a much better route, its not so much a button masher. Im sure getting the SNK licences would probably be much more a pain though.

#81- not wide spread enough? f@ck, man. it had PS2, gamecube AND xbox releases in NA. you can go into damn near any gamestop and still find used copies of CvS2. its not rare, the problem lies in capcom and SNK not selling like marvel does.

think about it, to the average gamer, capcom means nothing. sure, they know resident evil, megaman, street fighter, devil may cry, and other games from the company but they dont know WHO makes it. on that note, nothing SNK sells well here (i dont know about japan). on the other hand, put a marvel logo on it and it sells like crazy.

CvS2 got plenty of exposure over here, but it doesnt have cyclops or magneto, no one cares about it but a group of 10 people that includes the two of us :(

anyway, people mentioned keeping it sprite based so they arent making 3D models? thats just dumb. use the same capcom 3D models from TvC, swap out some characters (IMO keep them all and add, but we know it wont happen), make new ones, and work on the marvel roster. do 3D models work like sprites? if so, its not hard to transplant a S/SF4 character right?

also i'm not getting my hopes up.

I hope this is true.I would much rather have MVC3 over CVS3. I'm a little tired of Street Fighter VS SNK. Marvel can really bring out other Capcom characters that I do enjoy so much. I really don't care if there is ever another CVS or Sagat VS Blanka game. Just keep making the MVCs, just try to not have so many broken characters in it next time.

As far as I know, Activision owns the rights over Marvel characters until 2017, so I don't see MVC3 comming soon :(

Anyway, I prefer CVS3 over MVC3, but don't think this is comming either. Now, with KOFXIII in development and having SNK-Playmore trying to "re-birth" the saga, I don't believe they let Capcom to make a game with his characters to compete with.

But... Would be soooo great to have Terry Bogard in SF4 style...

@#90 actually they own the rights to the ULTIMATE line of marval not the core franchise. Capcom owns that(that is how MVC2 was able to be re-released)

As for what I want from MVC3. The usual tweeks to and keep the MVC2 character roster(cept for bone claw wolvie..not a needed character. After that add new people.
