Seth Killian and Christian Svensson added a few more posts to the Unity Boards recently, concerning Super Street Fighter 4 and the recent Vs. series games.
Early reports have some characters having too many tools to win with and others having too few in SSF4, what gives?
Seth: All I can say is that people really need to play the final build before getting too many ideas based on what works and how. Anything on the streams so far is just scratching the surface, and while I think the streams have been a lot of fun, almost everyone playing on them and in videos has had a VERY small amount of time to explore even the moves themselves, much less how they work in a real match.
If you'll recall from SFIV (and SFIII, and every other SF game), it takes people a while to realize the full potential of some techniques and characters. We'll have plenty of time to talk this over once everyone has their hands on the game.
When will we find out what the bonus is for owning SF4 and purchasing SSF4?
Seth: Just asked specifically when this info goes out, and it looks like Ono-san should be spilling the beans in the week before Super SFIV launches, on April 27th.
[Editor's note: From other reports, we know that having a SF4 save file unlocks an 11th character color in SSF4, but it's possible there might be additional things as well, or not.]
How were sales for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 2? Will we see another Vs. game soon?
Sven: Without giving numbers. TvC I'm pleased with. MvC2 I'm extremely happy with.
Beyond that, nothing to talk about right now.

This is very true. Don't forget that SF4 came out in February of 2009 and stuff like Balrog/Chuns jab ultra wasn't found until 6 months later. Hell, unblockable ultras took a year to find out!
Lol, because the first SF4 alone wasn't worth the purchase, Oh nooooooooo.
Come on man, lol, it said right up there that their might be more. If not? What can you complain about? I know you sure as hell didn't pay 60 dollars for a bonus add on for a game you didn't know was even coming out.
People forget, but everybody used to think Yun and Makoto were just average characters at best. How did that turn out? And I sure hope we get something good for actually keeping the physical disk of SF4, because if the only thing they care about is having a save file, I would've sold my disk a long time ago.
Hes right it does take time to explore the characters but cmon, certain things are just obivious. U can see from a fights that certain characters are gonna be really good while others are gonna struggle.
#16,
The original SF4 will save a file onto the harddisk of whichever console youre using.
SSF4 will scan for this file, and it found will most likely set a flag to enable the use of that classified functionality like extra colors etc.
Probably doesnt check for the data inside the file, just that it can fopen() it, if thats where youre coming from. :)
But Adon is obviously..... ya' know

Jesus Christ fanbase, shut the f_ck up and sit quietly. This sh_t's coming in a hot minute. The more tenacious of us are making the entire community look like nitpicking, unthankful brats whining to their Mommy to make sure they get our Happy Meal with the right toy.
"Seth: All I can say is that people really need to play the final build before getting too many ideas based on what works and how."
Yeah, I know you want us to 'play the final build' (i.e. buy the game), Seth, but that doesn't really answer the question.
@24
He doesn't answer the question because it isn't one that really needs an answer. The early reports are exactly that. what gives about them is that they aren't hard evidence, they are impressions based on minuscule amounts of time with the game.
The only way to actually know what things are different is to try the game yourself (or, more likely, wait for far more knowledgeable players to begin playing and post results).
I don't think he was pitching "buy the game when it is out!" I think he as honestly saying "Wait, because none of the early reports mean anything anyway."
Seriously? A new color if you keep your SF4?
Lame...
