#10/@Krabe,

I dont think its on air yet, not 100% sure.
But the banner says on air 13:00 JPN time, which is still a few hours away.
Could be wrong though.

Wow whats with all the sagats/seths/rufus. I don't care if you're a better player than me, but that's just bloody shameful. I'm always gonna go for the guy who doesn't pick a top tier character.

Posted by Doktor42 on April 3, 2010 at 8:09 p.m. #12

Dang, I feel kinda sorry for that Kai guy. What'd he do to get people to hate him so much anyway? O.o

Posted by HanSolo on April 3, 2010 at 8:18 p.m. #13

lol @ that red shirt dhalsim player. He's so visibly annoyed when he has to fight bison.

yeahhh onlinetony!! :)

Posted by tortoos on April 3, 2010 at 9:50 p.m. #21

Meh onlinetony. Not saying the guy wouldn't kick my ass, but he does use seth. Who's a pretty cheap character imo. It's like using gill without resurrection.

Posted by griever2000 on April 3, 2010 at 9:57 p.m. #22

yeah I know but I more rooting for me than that viper/rufus guy. and I just like the way seth combos ;p

Posted by griever2000 on April 3, 2010 at 9:59 p.m. #23

and I agree that seth is cheap but seeing how much damage he took in the 1st round against viper with just like 3 combos (like 70% of health gone with just simple combos) I find it fair

on top of that onlinetony is not turtleing like most of them I see online >_>

Posted by ExclusiveOrGate on April 3, 2010 at 10:03 p.m. #24

Marn must be so ticked lol.

Posted by THawk on April 3, 2010 at 10:16 p.m. #25

OMG Rufus is such BS. Ricky O is good... but damn the damage is retarded.

Posted by tortoos on April 3, 2010 at 10:18 p.m. #26

I'd honestly like to see some mid tier characters once in a while here. I loved seeing Q beat chun and makoto in thid strike. So much more hilarious to watch.

The matches yesterday we're very entertaining. The Grand Finals for Teams had some very good matches, especially Filipino Champ and fLoE in the last set. Kai's El Fuerte' in the LevelUp.cam vs NorCal 2 was also very entertaining.

Lol, Justin Wong attempted an unblockable with Sagat. Missed of course.

Posted by Jarkyttaa on April 4, 2010 at 2:44 p.m. #49

Make that attempted it twice. Missed the second time, too.

Posted by CATCHMAN on April 4, 2010 at 3:27 p.m. #56

Keep getting the "maximum number of streams" issue, this is really annoying.
I hope EVO won't use Justin.tv, or I'll have to buy a pro account :/

Posted by DarkBurialX on April 4, 2010 at 3:34 p.m. #57

The last matches for blazeblue was epic, and great game for both players as Bang Shishigami.

MCV2 games are great especially wit th Michael Jackson theme going

Posted by DarkBurialX on April 4, 2010 at 8:50 p.m. #73

One of the commentators said, "too much marvel". I only saw players use Strider Ryu and Captain Cammando. I think someone used Ruby Heart.

Posted by JohnJohnson on April 4, 2010 at 8:51 p.m. #74

Micheal Jackson... That gives me an idea for future tournaments, play good music during matches. Micheal for MvC2, Nirvana for 3rd Strike, Foo Fighters for SSF4, Beck for Tekken, U2 for Super Turbo... and some random J-Pop music for BlazBlue... I miss Guilty Gear... that one would be Metal.

Posted by yes4me on April 4, 2010 at 9:01 p.m. #75

omg... Horrible Dudley did horrible in the last game... no super after f.HK? Come on...

Posted by yes4me on April 4, 2010 at 9:06 p.m. #76

So SF3 is going to be 3 Chunli? Funny last time I posted on youtube how Chunli is the best character of SF3, I got -10 hand down... and now it seems we are heading for 3 chunli in final.

Good on Renic for taking Alex all the way to top 8. And Rom was amazing. He just mindf*cked Wong.

For a second there, I thought Wong was going take the hat trick. Winner in SF4 Teams, in MvC2, and 3rd Strike. I would have tip my hat to him.

JWong ruins everything

;___;

Posted by VanillaSF4 on April 4, 2010 at 11:34 p.m. #88

if theres one thing worse than a shoto or sagat, its fricking rufus for sure :(

Posted by Clovr4Lyf on April 4, 2010 at 11:34 p.m. #89

The guy who demonstrated the 3rd strike characters in SSF4 won SF4 too!

Posted by Wardog on April 4, 2010 at 11:37 p.m. #90

That was a good tournament, congrats on all the players.

Posted by Clovr4Lyf on April 4, 2010 at 11:43 p.m. #91

fat?
Like his wallet just got for winning that whole thing!!!

Posted by THawk on April 4, 2010 at 11:46 p.m. #92

Rufus is so damn OP. That being said... JWong is just off the charts. You don't have to like him... but he's easily so much better than anyone else in the US.

He might take out the Japs this year at Evo as well.

Also when Super hits... it will be nice to see more than just Rufus, Sagat, Ryu, and Akuma.

i got two things out of this tournament

1. A exciting seth player in OnlineTony (hope to see more of him)

2. Rufus is truly broken

That is all

Posted by sabrewulf on April 5, 2010 at 12:44 a.m. #96

rufus is not broken just put a good gief over there and thats all

Posted by liluoke on April 5, 2010 at 1:56 a.m. #97

online tony has convinced me that seth is way awesome

Posted by Poke on April 5, 2010 at 2:27 a.m. #98

rufass is dumb for sure.. he needs way less life, because he can kill you in 2-3 combos started with divekick 50/50 mixups (+a zillion ultra setups)

dumb!

Posted by chickenwings on April 5, 2010 at 2:58 a.m. #99

i would love to see the gief that took out valle in hdr. that had to be a epic match.

Posted by Burn on April 5, 2010 at 2:58 a.m. #100

Rufus broken? lololol
Not nearly as broken as Sagat, who isn't even that broken. You guys are just upset that J. Wong won. Get over it.

If Ultra setups = broken then Ryu would be just as broken. He has the exact same amount. Give or take 1. But with Ryu, he has no bad matchups (save Sagat) and a lot of match ups in his favor. Whereas Rufus has Sagat, Ryu, Gief and Dictator as bad match ups with just as many in his favor. Ryu and sagat have trade ultras which are the most retarded thing in the game. Quit complaining that Rufus is OP.

Posted by VanillaSF4 on April 5, 2010 at 3:04 a.m. #101

nah

rufus is broken.

with a snake strike that takes over 50%, we dont need to get over nothin'.

Posted by ratedRsuperstar on April 5, 2010 at 3:06 a.m. #102

oh ya rufus is broken tell daigo that.He doesnt seem to have any problems with justins rufus. If justin went and started winning tournies with someone else at the rate he wins with rufus everyone would say that character is broken.

Posted by Ztv on April 5, 2010 at 3:16 a.m. #103

Are these matches going to available to download? Like the justin stream thing?

Or will we need to pay to watch games? not really fair imo

Posted by mcfizzle on April 5, 2010 at 4:17 a.m. #104

was able to catch the hype money match between PR Balrog and Kai. Unfortunately just couldn't stay up waiting for sf4 and having to endure all the other games.

Posted by AceKillah on April 5, 2010 at 5:06 a.m. #105

ok @ Saburwulf think about what you just said gief rapes any1 without a zoning game rufus is a rushdown character with few defensive options gief wins

@ Burn 1.Rufus is broken 2. sagat isnt broken there is only 3 things wrong with sagat

Sagat
*Trading into ultras
*Tiger knee traps,
*and the amount of damage he does

Rufus
*Insane Health
*NO METER Ultra Set Ups (big reason right here how many times do you see a ryu land a ultra WITHOUT using any meter in? in 1 set ricky ortiz landed 4 ultras without using any meter which still does 380-480 damage)
*Ex Messiah Kick
*Ex Snake Strike
*Ambiguous dive kick
*Insane reach and priority on normals
*High Damage
hes broken just accept the FACT and of course he has bad matchups hes a purley rushdown character

@ratedRsuperstar
really are you that dumb rufus v ryu is a really even matchup it boils down to who has more skill which is why diago won

Posted by Clovr4Lyf on April 5, 2010 at 5:54 a.m. #106

@109
You also forgot that
Rufus
*can do Ultra Juggles off his lightning quick dive kick with ease
*That Ultra will hit full and do MASSIVE DAMAGE
*His throws do BIG DAMAGE too

Posted by WinstonChurchill on April 5, 2010 at 6:23 a.m. #107

"really are you that dumb rufus v ryu is a really even matchup it boils down to who has more skill which is why diago won"

Ha, such a contradiction from that huge whine that you listed. No ones really broken, just get skill and win, simples.

Posted by Dicktator on April 5, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. #108

Wow the amount of trolls here are over 9000. Seriously Rufus broken? You stupid scrubs need to go play something else; these comments are getting really annoying.

J. Wong has insane hit confirmability, that is why he's good with Rufus. Do not even talk here; if you don't know what hit confirms are because there are alot of Rufus's out there but J.Wong stands out because he is more skilled.

Strategically he might not be on par with Japans Kindevu. But in terms of hit confirming; he is on par with with the best...waaaay better than anyone in the american SFIV scene and yesterday proves it. He mopped the floor with combofiend in the grand finals.

Posted by Clovr4Lyf on April 5, 2010 at 6:49 a.m. #109

The main thing I didnt like was that the commentators were giving tips to the players as the game was going on.
"watch out for this and that, it has +? advantage"
"The best way to punish X is with X"
I know the players can hear them because I saw it live and they were responding to the commentators.

Posted by Clovr4Lyf on April 5, 2010 at 6:52 a.m. #110

Broken?
See: Gill in 3rd Strike
See: ANY Boss in a KOF game!
Capcom gave a fat guy high defense...OK fine
BUT they game him INCREDIBLE stamina, agility, range, power and speed!
That said: IF he didnt have a dive kick... automatically balanced!

Posted by NA on April 5, 2010 at 7:56 a.m. #111

@Acekillah (109)
I wouldn't say either of them are broken, but if you are going to call out Rufus on his high health you have to mention Sagat as well. And I'd bring stun into it, too.
Rufus has 1150 health but 950 stun, while Sagat has 1100 health and 1110 stun. So they both have above-average health, but Sagat has above-average stun as well.

Posted by JohnJohnson on April 5, 2010 at 8:15 a.m. #112

On the subject of Rufus being broken... Yes, he has a bunch of Ultra set ups and can get SOS off of any combo, and yes, he has really good health, and Ex Jesus kick, but, like NA said, he has 950 stun, most of his offense comes from his Dive Kick, which for some, if not most, have Anti Airs to take care of that. Also, I've always thought Rufus was overrated, not only because of his dive kick, but also because his best defensive move is his EX MK, which needs meter, and if you can make him waste meter, Rufus doesn't really have a Get Off Me move. He's still good, but I don't think he has good as people make him out to be, at least to me.

Posted by eventhubs_GOD on April 5, 2010 at 9:14 a.m. #113

Wow some of you must really suck at this game cause Rufus is nothing close to broken. That dive kick is easy to dp, fierce in the air stops it clean or you can anti air focus for an easy crumple if they get too dive kick happy. Like #116 said he has no great get off me move without meter and Rufus doesn't build meter as great as other characters like Viper and Cammy. He is pure rush-down with a couple of good zoning normals like crouching heavy punch. Crouching medium punch is his best anti-air. The only thing wrong with Sagat is the damage he does and maybe his roundhouse which is the only normal in the game that juggles. Rufus takes more skill to play than Sagat and Ryu. Scubs!

Posted by eventhubs_GOD on April 5, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. #114

Lol I meant scrubs

lmao blazblue

Posted by Jarkyttaa on April 5, 2010 at 6:28 p.m. #118

The fact that people complain about balance in this game just goes to show that people have an inherent need to complain for the sake of complaining.

"Someone won. They must be overpowered and we must make them weaker!"

12 different characters in the top 16 for singles. Compare that to almost any other fighting game (and pretty much any capcom fighter). Sentinel in every top team and a storm in most every team for MvC2? You guys need to stop complaining about balance in SFIV.

Posted by NA on April 5, 2010 at 7:11 p.m. #119

@Jarv
This is a Street Fighter/Capcom site. Blazblue and Tekken didn't get coverage here for obvious reasons.
Check Dustloop for BB and SDTekken for Tekken, though.
