New Super Street Fighter 4 teaser trailer
A reader sent in a heads up that Capcom of Japan has posted a new teaser trailer for Super Street Fighter 4.
While there isn't much there, the new clip is just a variation of the original Street Fighter 4 trailer — there's a date showing 2009.09.29 at the bottom and 17:00 JST (Japan Standard Time).
A quick conversion shows this would end up being on Tuesday at 3 a.m. Pacific Standard Time for us over here in America, so it looks like we'll be getting some news very, very soon.
Since this is a, "blink and you could miss it," kind of thing, I took some screen shots so it's a little easier to see some of the action.

I was done with SFIV and went back to 3rd Strike about 2 months after it was released. Let's hope this one isn't garbage and lasts me a bit longer.

Compared to what? Some vintage ggpo fighter you play on your pc via rom? Sorry, things are a little more complicated in a modern game.
Play a three bar game and up and it's virtually lag free. Lag is to be expected and it will never be perfect. Give me a break.

I think it's going to come out sooner than you all think. I mean, they already have the engine for the game. There'll be tweaks to existing characters movesets and 10 new characters. (if the info is correct) I assume new stages and music (just gotta make the stages. Not like there's testing required there.) And bonus stages.
Plus you GOTTA think that Capcom's been hard at work on this for months already. I mean that T. Hawk screenshot says it all. There he is. In game. How much more could they have to do?

T Hawks model has been done since before SFIV was out.
Him being in a game is not an indication of how close to finished it is.
Also, yes believe it or not stages need to be tested as well. We all know the one night stage with the cars causes lag even when offline.

"netcode" is refering to the code that regulates play via the internet. It is kind of a buzz word a lot of idiots use when they don't know what they are talking about.
They just scream NEW NETCODE. Thinking the next game will have no lag and be perfect when it doesn't really work that way at all.

Can you imagine Dudley cross countering one of Balrogs turn punches.

Moves like EX Messiah kick, Akuma's double kick, silly jump ins from guys who tick throw alot, even blankas aerial ball attacks...will be shut down by the cross counter alone.
Then factor in his ability to vary his horizantal punch attacks, Dudley is easily Tier A and my main character period.
Imagine Dudleys uppercut canceled into Corkscrew Blow or Rolling Thunder.

About the only character that could make me drop Guile.
That is unless they make Guile better in an awesome way and Sonic Hurricane is a good start.

I'm sure all of the people I beat with Dan by doing nothing but endless tick throws would disagree about the netcode being adequate.
Then again, given that most of the people I play have an offense that consists of (a) tick throwing and (b) their character's spammable special(s) (or turbo jab if they don't have one), maybe everyone thinks that's how the game is actually played.
If they can't fix the garbage netcode, they should at least fix the garbage matchmaking so I can automatically filter people with bad connections, instead of having to kick 10 2-bars out of my room for every decent match I get.
And fix all of the weird hitbox anomalies.
Do that and I'll drop another $60 on the game. But for the same technically deficient lagfest with dumbed-down online play, only now with more characters? No.

The title of the page: "???"
This indicates that they refuse to name the title.
In the page source you can see the Flash file is named "teaser.swf" and teasers indicate something new.
The URL has the term "newwarrior", which might be the subtitle. It would make sense if the title would be called

Yeah, I saw this stupid trailer, what is the point of it? It is so short and all it shows is Ryu and Ken, they are already over used as it is and I bet that Capcom, being dumb as all hell, will probably buff Sagat! And Zangief will be given more HP. We need more female characters with bigger breasts, all the other fighting games have them, but Capcom just keeps making dumb characters like Rufus and T. Hawk. Capcom needs to start acting like its 2009 and not 1991.
I am still playing the Halo 3 ODST campaign. The game is decent but it still sucks, and my suscribers agree. It wont even save my data. Bungie is cheap just like Capcom.
I tell you what loyal fans, Capcom needs to fix the netcode because I am sick and tired of Ken, Ryu, Sagat, and Zangief abuse online, the scrubs have tooken over and us good players like me are switching over to shooting games instead.

For the people that hope its DLC its not soo save your money or shut up and stay with SF4. I don't understand why everyone gets so violent about DLC. I love the feeling of being really stoked in my car as i drive to a game store to pick something up. Then you drive back home looking at in your passenger seat, thinking "oh heeeeelllll yeah!".

I think Juri looks sort of like an evil Ling Xiaoyu (from Tekken) with stupid hair and a stupid top. Otherwise it's good, imo.
She's rumored to have a taekwondo kinda style, with lots of kicks (maybe kicks only?), so I'm looking forward to that. :)

To those of you saying/thinking this girl doesn't belong in SF, I ask you, why? Why is her kooky design not aligned with SF? Is Blanka not wacky like her?
The designs throughout the SF series have always been a reflection of it's time. An example is SF3 and Alpha, because those were the times when anime started branching out into other countries, bringing it's new style and design to the mainstream.
This girl is simply how the world sees those funny asian girls in Harajuku and all over Asia, who dress with their bright colors and kooky accessories. Mixed with a flair of Martial arts, of course.
What defines for you a character who belongs in SF? A boring Karate Man design? Another one? Really? This is innovation people, a new, interesting and fresh design, embrace it and enjoy it.
PS.: Who the hell said new characters was all we'd get #166? It's obvious we'll get rebalanced characters, at least 2 new music scores, I'm guessing some stages and DLC costumes. REJOICE!!!!

Its not gonna be a DLC. And yes, I'm willing to pay $60 for this game, hell, I paid $60 for each copy of sf4 I got (ps3 and 360).
If capcom realeased this as DLC, what happens to the people that DO NOT own SF4? Do you expect them to buy the game and put in in their console only to find out they have to pay extra money for the update? Use common sense.

Fix Guile.
Make him as tough as Rufus and we will see who is higher tier. The better I get at the game the more I realize its just his stamina that cripples him.
DO the math...weaken his strength and his stamina = character who loses often.
period.
Make him tougher or stronger and alot of matches Guile drops would be won. SImply due to the fact that hecan hang around longer or put you away faster. Double gimping him like this has made Street Fighter 4 a scrubs fantasy land.

can't wait for Tuesday! I am ready for new content for sure(just hope it is a DLC). The only thing I am worried about is how are they gonna fix the online lobbies with a DLC. I love playing with my buddies but 2 slots isn't enough. Either way, this is gonna be awesome.
I will be waiting to see just how they have Guy's playing style like. I checked him out on Youtube and he looks really cool. I've been seeing alot of T.Hawk haters; its too bad, I think he's gonna be a more fancy Geif and turn out alright. @ 181.. adding new characters would simply be a DLC. That would actually be common sense. That's how every game works nowadays. When I was younger I made the mistake of buying SF2, SSF2, SSF2 Turbo. Simply because I'm a fan. Now that I'm older, it would be common sense to see that this is a rip-off. OFC if they add new modes, fix their crappy netcode, better story mode - then that would justify a new game, for sure. Use common sense.

Anyways andy, it won't be DLC, it's a "whole new" system, characters, new musical scores and possibly (and veryveryvery probably) new stages. I guess this is CAPCOM's way of thanking the fans for granting them this huge comeback, by adding a heckload of stuff.
