T. Hawk pic, Super Street Fighter 4 info maybe on Monday
In a Twitter post, a Capcom Unity staff member responded to a question from Pinetar80 asking the team if we'd see new information on Super Street Fighter 4 this weekend, they stated:
No. But [maybe] Monday.
The game was apparently shown to members of the press behind closed doors at the Tokyo Game Show, but Capcom isn't making it official just yet.
But, you can take this post as confirmation as Capcom is saying that Super Street Fighter 4 exists and an announcement is coming very soon.
Update: A reader also pointed out this image from Gamepro Germany. At first glance, it's just a shot of Yoshinori Ono with some other guy, but if you look a little closer in the background, you can see T. Hawk in his Street Fighter 4 form.

According to one of the leaks it will be announced on October 1st.

It is getting retarded because now I feel like their just f-ing with us (the fans). I believe business is business and if their going to announce anything it's because they are already moving forward with development on it. If their not at this point their is no point in announcing anything unless it's for fan service. I think they will let SF4 keep making the little sales, price drop and make those sales and when it starts to slow down then they will officially announce something which feel will be next year e3. but I hope it does announce on Monday or Thursday.

I know im going to get flamed but to be honest, I am half and half about being excited for the new game.
I perosnally just wanted sf4 just balanced so that every has a GOOD chance in tourney.
I just really hope with all the updates they may be doing to the game that its really going to be worth the extra 60 bucks im going to have to pay for the same game with a few new characters. I just dont really see the money being worth it unless they plan on doing a serious overhaul of the game. But i they did that they have a chance of upsetting current fans of the game.
im just worried I will be spending a crap load of money for no reason.

That pic is an EXCELLENT find. Great eye by whoever pointed it out. That's certainly T. Hawk and that sign definitely says Super Street Fighter 4.
My impression on that is, since they're keeping it silent for so long is that we'll see this game worldwide for the holiday season. They want as much buzz as possible and then when they announce it and show that it's totally done, people are going to freak.

If anything Cutty, they might take the route that Tekken did with 5 and DR.
DR had new stages that were the old stages but remade, but they decided to keep the old stages too. If anything, if this is on another Disc, it'll just probably be the updated definitive version of Street Fighter IV.

The T. Hawk to the right doesn't have 2 toned pants(See the patches of purple.) like the character that is being held up.
Either way, this is quite fun. Not since the 90's with Mortal Kombat and SF in their Primes(until the return of SF4) has it been so much fun to speculate and look forward to something.
Although back then with the lack of the internet, all the secret characters and such were more like urban myths lol.

The character at the top of the poster looks like the one on the screen. The hand on the poster is very feminine. And the hand guard is different to Ibukis (u can tell by the positioning of the thumb that thats the top of the hand)
It kinda looks like Cammys hand guard. And a rumoured new character was a vilainous female called Juri.
Juri was the original romanization of Juli in SF Zero 3. Maybe its Juli in new pants!...or maybe not

I'm really hoping this ends up being dlc. If the rumors are true, I dont think it would qualify as a full fledged sequel without a visual makeover even though it's already pretty good looking. This is capcom though....

Expecting internet connection + Live/PSN account on every console running. Too much. Not every tournament can be Capcom sponsored with everything set to go.
Plus you're going to what, sit and DL 6 GB more instead of popping in a new disc and play?
Digital generation or not, casuals won't like that and we won't see another SF for ten years because of bad decisions that can split the userbase, make people mad about buying, forcing buying DLC, etc.

If the fact of having no new stages were true, that might mean that a DLC is on its way (along the retail version), don't you think so?
It would make sense if Capcom just want to update SF4 with a new balanced gameplay and new characters.
I hope the stage on the pic is just there to show the new characters and that there's still a lot of work to do (i.e. the new stages and music) before the release in the arcades, because a lot of stages in SFIV are just average and even worse than that...
But we've got used to them now, and if Capcom wanted to release a SSFIV the same way they released SSF2, they would capitalize on the design and world of SFIV, the same way they did for SF2 --> SSF2 (hope the music will change at least!)

And some people say that its photoshopped. Its not. I know a lot about photoshopping. I see no signs of it. But if you look at Ono red shirt you can see the he's wearing a Street Fighter 4 shirt and it have a design of a hawk on it. And the S on the poster does say Super just like they had it on Super Street Fighter 2. And if you look in the middle of the guy with the blue on arms you can clearly see T Hawk from the waist on the poster.

they can add 50 more characters, it wont matter since ryu and sagat will still dominate anyway. The only character i would be looking forward to is deejay since he has a pretty solid design and the only way he could suck would be if capcom went out of there way to make him suck like they did vega.

hey, so, i think its confirmed their is a super street fighter 4 but personally, i just want rolento to make an appearance (he deserves it) and the stages i want are:
2. Tradition Ryu's rooftop stage (from sf3 or wtvr)
and the best SF stage of all:
Street Fighter Alpha 2's Secret Australia Stage

Those don't look like Dee Jay's legs. The pants look like they have 2 tones/colors, similar to Roxas's pants in Kingdom Hearts. Also, the pants don't say MAXIMUM.
Also, there's no way in hell that's a mirror match either, for the same reasons mentioned above.

I think the reason a few people are saying that it's a T.Hawk mirror is because.. well here's a quick Paint diagram:

Looks like it could be a horizontal inversion of T.Hawk's right leg boot/pant thing, meaning it could be the opponent T.Hawk's left leg boot/pant thing.
But at the same time, looking at the original picture, there doesn't seem to be the rest of the other T.Hawk's body even if Ono is covering it up a bit.

The way I see it, THawks right leg is being covered up by the other character who is in front of him. Those two legs are too close together to belong to THawk. But then again, I could be completely wrong.

i think capcom should include new levels which should look iconic, remixes of the old street fighter 2 levels, and keep the street fighter 4 levels as well. they should also bring back character specific levels.
the street fighter 4 levels were very dull and bland.
capcom never explained why they didn't have character specific levels in street fighter 4.

To those asking how easy it would be, I can tell you it would be very easy. I'm an artist and I use photoshop daily. Doing that would be a matter of blurring a pic and changing the Layer Blending Modes so that it would fit the picture. Save it in a bit of a lower quality, upload and BAM, insta-rumor.
But I'm not saying IT IS a photoshop, just that it could easily be one.

Well, as for me, I'm only excited about seeing Juri, Makoto and Ibuki. Hopefully they can remix all the themes to the characters one more time. Dudley's theme was really kick ass in SF3:3rdStrike.
I'm still really disappointed they are not thinking of Karin. Bringing in Morrigan would also be SAWEET.

+ an Option to choose beetween stage music or charactet music in VS mode.
+ Characters should have 2 intros before starting a match.
AND Special intros beetween certain characters like: Ryu vs Ken, Ryu vs Sagat, Ryu vs Akuma, Ryu vs Gouken, etc.
+ 3 Supers, 1 Ultra
OR 2 Supers, 2 Ultras per character.
+ New (and Decent) Alternate Costumes. [Extra DLC]
+ 3 Bonus Stages.
+ A Tournament mode, something like eliminatory (4 to 8 players). players who are not fighting can watch those who are.
i would pay from 20 to 30 Dollars for all of this as an update.

The new poster and the Giant S, along with the fact that this was published on Gamepro.de (plus why the hell would REGULAR SF4 be at TGS?) has me believing this is real.
HOWEVER, I can't get over the fact that some of T-Hawk's body is off the screen. I've heard the grab animation story, but I don't buy it. Plus his Icon near his name does looks exactly like it does on HDR. I guess that could just be a work in progress though.

the only noticable is a difference for the ultra meter and that' s it (with obviously the 2 characters).

So how are the new players going to get the game if its only DLC cheap kids?
Buy the 1st game on disc (they're going to look for and want brand new) then pay $20 more to DL like 6-9 Gigs for a couple hours before they can even play?
That separates the userbase fast, pisses off casuals fast, and screws up any tournaments forcing buying DLC for every console running. And how would Gamefly and renting work? Rent the disc out and have to buy DLC and always keep that disc around to play?
Start trading in your flavor of last month games now, sell on eBay, whatever.

Regarding stages: this is Super SFIV. Super SFII had all the stages from SFII. Makes sense to include them again, don't you think?

This is the Digital Age. Capcom, or cashcow, needs to get with the times. Casuals won't be buying disc after disc with the same title. They'll just move on and get another game (Tekken) who doesn't update every freaking 8 months or so.
Sadly I'll be getting this game, but I damn sure ain't paying 60 bucks for it. lol. Just for a new lobby system. Don't care for new characters, tweaks, new ultras, etc, JUST LOBBIES.
Honestly, fix the online lobbies on the current SF IV and I won't have any means on buying this over-price DLC.

Those 2 things in front of t. hawk looks like dj's legs in a different colored costume you can see the white and purple pants and the meter is blocking his feet so that you cant tell.

It's because SFIV's online gaming has lag and it's contaminated with cheaters. There are more cheaters than normal players. Most of those cheaters use lag switches, rage quit or download to produce lag. Most of those lowlifes say things like "There is no such thing as cheapness" and "Sagat is not overpowered".

I've clocked nearly 450 hours on the ps3 and though I never play on 1-bar connections any more, rage quitters and games that involve noticeable frame drop are very, very rare. |The only online problem I face is input lag and maybe some input commands being dropped

what ever capcom do please fix online play.sick of cheap lagstars who stop people from getting the best out of there characters.if u have trouble doing moves practice on arcade mode while waiting for people to enter your lobby also the game is supposed to be played with a arcade stick .its hard at first to get used 2.but in 2-3 weeks u'll be doing combos so easyly.less effort and frustration.with pad it makes a simple combo more difficult.

I hope capcom add some bonus stages in Super Street fighter 4 like they had in the classic Street Fighter 2 games. I also hope they give all the characters more than one super and one ultra. I hope they fix Zangief's feet in this one,they are too small for his size. I also hope they fix Sagat's arm's,too skinny.They need to fix akuma's life bar,he takes too much damage. I hope they also add Adon,Birdie,Charlie,Rolento,Sodom,Guy Evil Ryu/Ken and some characters off Street Fighter 3. They need to add a scorecard for acarde mode like in all the other Street Fighter games and have the option to speed the game up. Please fix Crimson's hair,she's hot but the hair needs to be fix.I hope the designers add more customs. Need to get stages for each character and their theme songs. Need to add more designs to Seth or make a new boss because he's boring.
MOST importantly get a better theme song.

Don't whine. I prefer a physical copy, even if it is just an update. I was so sore when GoW2 decided NOT to release their "All Fronts" collection only online. I wanted the disc! I might be the minority, but with a 20G hard drive, my options are limited. And no, I won't buy a bigger one. Microsoft can go kill themselves.
As a plea to capcom, please include some more costumes, as well as a few hair-style change options! Crimson Viper would look so much better with long straight hair, for example. Maybe also different hair colors? Thanks capcom! Love SFIV!

The Tekken series has been pretty good. I wouldn't say it's epic like Street Fighter. Let's look at the simple facts. Street Fighter has been around alot longer and has had some good quality spinoffs such as the Alpha series, EX, and those chibi Puzzle Fighters.. Tekken does one thing really.. Hardcore fighting. Oh wait, and accessorizing. What's up with that?
So they're both great series, but I think Street Fighter deserves the limelight by itself.

i wish they would just throw everyone on it like tekken do, but i doubt that, so i personally want karin in this one. her fighting style was different and would make better sense for sakuras rival since she fought ryu already. plus with all this new stuff we have now, karin will kick ass on this one. they dont need to rush the production and leave us with only a few more character. we were suppose to have dee jay and t. hawk on the last one, but that rushing got them wasting the eightish slot for the new one. take your time capcom. ill rather give them time so all the character can be on there instead of a deadline and get stuck with eightish. im patient. i waited this long for tekken and im still waiting for the new final fantasy. we will still be here when its ready. you rememdered he said eightish. that mean however many they finish before the deadline. dont rush capcom. our money will be waiting. lol, but if im stuck with 8 to 10 more, then give me karin. as far as the rest, ill leave that to the rest of fans to decide what other characters for me to use to kick the crap out of other people with. lol
