Marvel vs. Capcom 2's producer, Rey Jimenez, stated that it's looking like most of the fans want to see the game's stats reset when the new patch hits, but he also offered this warning on the Capcom Forums to anyone who might still be working on some of the achievements/trophies.
Rey: Actually my last post about the all or nothing deal means that ALL stats will be reset. The website and in-game stats all come from the same source (they are just not all displayed in game). So resetting the wins/losses/ratings, will reset all of the other stats. If you've already received a stat related trophy/achievement, you'll keep it. If you're on the cusp of getting one of the stat related trophies/achievement, you should probably try to get it soon before I reset the boards (which seem to be the majority consensus given the options).
