I am not convinced yet ^^ . The characters look fine, but Codys basic movements looked kind of static. Hope they will add more animations for his basic movements till release. Adons animations were top notch.

Remember that there is one other ultra for those characters that they didnt show. I'm sure that cody's ultra that needs the knife will be in.

I personally think adon's ultra is the sickest, simply because of the last knee to the chin.

Maybe its just me, but cody, guy, and adon seem much more fun to play than t. hawk, juri, and deejay

Adon's looking good unfortunatley for a chacter I don't like... But they gotta get Charlie in or something, because charge characters are going extinct fast. I was dissapointed when 0/6 the new characters in SF4 were charge characters but if the early leaked roster is correct, then this is plain ridiculous. Only Dee Jay? I just say eff it and make everyone "pinwheel" motion characters. Lets continue to mash a sloppy shoryuken motion online and feel good about ourselves as if we accomplished something.

Cody looks a lot better in-game than in the artwork.

Voices are quite good, except for Dee Jay, but I can barely understand a word of what Juri said, both on her intro and on her finishing whisper. Could anyone help? English is not my primary language :(

I agree. Capcom doesnt like chargers for some reason. I think the last charger we got might have been birdie, and its the same with grapplers. We need more variation in the movesets.

@42 yeah, and that's why I like (most of) the English voices. The Japanese counterparts are more about over-acting than giving a true feel of the character. FFS, the not only Japanese El Fuerte voice actor has no idea of how Spanish sounds like, he can barely pronounce the character's name! But different cultures, different values, I guess.

So Adon can cancel a jump in normal into that axe kick special? Hope it isn't an overhead on cancel or else we're gonna a really obnoxious lag tactic. Probably not overhead since they nerfed a lot of dive kicks and Viper's burn kick cancel of j.HK isn't overhead.

Omce again, a little optimism goes a long way. People are already calming down on the cody-hate after seeing him in action, he looks much less odd than he did in the famitsu scans. I imagine that the cuffs will get fixed before release. after all, it does say "footage represents a game still in development" at the bottom.

No, that doesn't really rule out a character. Think of the air base: the characters that appear on the plane are all playable, they are just replaced by another one when they are already on the fight.

But Hugo had ridiculously small chances to begin with, so that shouldn't bring your hopes up anyway.

I personally do not like Adon and Cody to be pointless additions. I think Karin should be there. I am hoping that she will be added for a 3rd version of the game. Her theme needs to be remixed and revived.

Guy was uber awesome. He has an amazing presence and he has sorta of an aura and a sense of coolness of his own.

Gotta recheck this when I get home so I can hear the voice actors since I'm in school, but I'm loving this. Cody looks awesome and I can see him having a lot of strong punches with his tornado punch, and Guy just looks dope as hell with his ninjitsu style. But Adon... he looks beasty, very beasty.

i just wanted to say that cody is actually shaping up a lot better than the low res famitsu scans. i still PERSONALLY wished he had lost his prison garb but as long as he makes a dent in the tier list, i will be satisfied that we get more alpha 3 love.

and for people who are saying that SF4 felt cold and bland, you are right.

also, this has not been a lame lineup. ssf4 is shaping to be one of the biggest fan services this decade. (its up there with metroid prime: trilogy)

Question, is the theme that plays when Cody is fighting from Final Fight? I recognize everyone else's theme except his. They all have their old themes (I thought Juri's theme would be more like the one we saw in the first trailer, all quiet and stuff). It doesn't really sound like his SFA3 theme.

Also, Juri is a whore. I like her English voice (I'll probably use her Japanese one still), although I honestly wouldn't have minded her sounding a little more like Azula from Avatar.

@101 I don't even know if you're talking about visible polygons or the lack of anti-aliasing, but PS3 and 360 games have always looked this jagged. Also, wonder what's up between Guy and Rose. Mid-boss in Alpha 2 (I forgot who was whose), Guy carries her body in Alpha 3 when she's "dead", and now they're the ones fighting in IV? Maybe I'm looking too deep into it. I dunno if Dee Jay/Rufus and T.Hawk/El Fuerte would be rivals either.

I suspect Chun Li and Cody might be rivals, with Chun Li being an investigator and Cody a possibly escaped prisoner. Adon and Sagat seems pretty obvious, too. But there's also Adon/Akuma, right?

T. Hawk sure has a young voice. But I like underused characters (Except maybe Birdie >_>) so I think he'll be fun to play. I think it's kinda funny how it doesn't really fit him.

well cody is as uninteresting as I predicted. I am changing my mind about Adon though. Guy looks like he needs a bit of tweaking, his "before the fight" scene looks stiff and unrealistic. but his ultra....amazing, looks how Vega's should look. Easier to set up too, I'm sure.

And Juri....I like Juri, but that ultra is sooooo long. People will get sick of it quick I'm sure.

Ok let's see:
Adon=Bottom Tier at best for the simple reason he has no projectiles and he has no real moves if you ever played Alpha 3 you know what I mean,also he's not a big damage character. Adon will have problems with characters who zone well and Blanka will be one of the wost matches for him.

Guy=Middle Tier His arching Hurricane kick in the corner will be a great tool to keep your oppnet form jumping out. If he has his flip(Demon Flip) move like in Alpha 3 he will be a great juggling character. To all people that want to use him his wall jump is another great tool.

Cody-Now Cody could very well be Top 4 on the entire game. Is he ant thing like his Alpha 3 counter part. Criminal Upper is a move that dose massive damage and good chip if blocked. Bad Stone is just like (Sagat Tiger Shot's) you have low bad stones and high bad stones. Also form the old Alpha 3 days his air throw will keep your oppent from jumping at you and last but not least the all mighty slide to slide under fire balls

Capcom doing things right is doing it wrong.

Balrog has no fireball and he's high tier. Also, Adon has amazing mobility, so zoning will be the least of his problems: he has specials that go through fireballs, specials that traverse the fullscreen, Ultra that goes over fireballs too.

Guy will be good it seems, but definitely not as good as he was in alpha 3. mainly because Alpha 3 had no Juggle limit, and this game has a really low one.

As for Cody, Mid, Upper-mid at best. Remember that SF4 has no V-ism, so there isn't much he can do that other characters can't get through.

Still, this is all Super Theory Fighter 4, so you might be right. I doubt it though.

Hugo is only a NPC. It was just a easter egg/wink to the fans.

People saying Adon will be low tier, in fact, anyone saying that ANYBODY is in any tier, should be taken lightly. Yes, you can base the characters off their alpha counterparts, but the game is adding a bunch more stuff to EVERYONE and you never really know how well they are going to do. SF4 is a different engine and they might give a little spin to some of these characters. Please dont go out saying that someone is automatically going to be low/high tier. there is not enough proof yet.

Im so freaking excited for the new batch of characters (probably raining from Third Strike coupled with the new character concept, Hakan)

As for potential inclusion of Ibuki and Makoto: if no other story-based reason, they could have each other. They are rivals. However, I am not wild about them being in the game. Elena, for example, is a much more creative character design than Makoto.

Cody, Guy, and Dee Jay's english voices are great...the others...not so much. But hell, they all look like lots of fun to play(except T. Hawk, I've never been into him).

Also, Hugo isn't playable...if you look at Guy's Alpha 2 stage you'll see him there. This is just tradition. I know about the Airfield stage and this is different. To think the originally leaked/rumored character list isn't solid at this point is getting silly. I think the next trailer will be like this one, except Hakan at the front, followed by the 3 SF3 characters, then basically it would play out like this trailer(ending with Juri).

Also, people clamoring for SF1 characters amaze me...people actually liked that game that much?

I'm looking forward to Cody because he's a real streetfighting archetype back from the final fight days. But I have to admit that his moves don't look very spectacular.

He was wrongly sent to prison so I would expect him to be an aggressive steamhammer who applies all the dirty tricks he learned there... not so much this kind of sleepyhead.

I don't really see another version of SF4 coming out after this, at least for a long time. It's old news that this update is the single biggest update for any Street Fighter game by far, so there is no need to even think of another update anytime soon.

The only reasonable scenario I see for it to happen is that Capcom gets greedy and wants to cash in on SF4 fans again.

It would be nice be nice if there was another version for this game(added Karin, Sodom, R. Mika, Elena, Hugo, Yun), but I don't see that happening any time soon or at all(and all of the supposed and confirmed additions to this game are awesome). It looks like Ono and Capcom are more interested in reviving old franchises like Darkstalkers, CvS and Rival Schools, as well as getting proper re-releases out of games like CvS2, 3S, and maybe Alpha 3(Max) after finishing up SSFIV.

@294 But those are just rumors. Granted, the rumors we saw here a few weeks ago are starting to come true but we can only hope that both of them will be in. Personally, I think Ibuki is going to be in because of the Kunai in the screen shots. I am talking the one where Guy "parrys" it. Judging by the angle of the shot, it looks like a Rival Cutscene. IMO, it make sense because Rose and Guy are friends so it would be kinda silly if Guy and Rose are rivals. And to add more gas to the fire, both, Guy and Ibuki, are trained in the "ninja arts" so we can assume both of them will be rivals. But then again, it's just a guess and I hope I am right. I really do because I love Ibuki.

And Ibuki is pretty much 70% confirmed, and makoto will probably be in there as well (besides i think she has a connection to ibuki, but i could be wrong) and who i want the most DUDLEY!!! (he is a badass) Hakan i could care less about cuz idk anything about him. I also cant wait for 2 ultras, hopefully they are selectable after each player picks there character that way you can pick the ultra to counter the opponent the best. Just look at when he does that "tornado punch" (Not sure what its called), and the end of his ultra. It's not "exactly" like the machine gun punch, like it doesn't have all the hits, but the uppercut machine looks similar to DeeJay's.

your right. i expect alot more from capcom. they owe us big. without our money, capcom wouldnt be where they are now. i would love to have a software to make my own fighting games. got several game ideas i need to make happen jot down. got instructions and all just need the software for it. if i had the software to make fighting games like these, i probably would never play another fighting game again cause i would have my own brand game, and i would keep all my cast, not scrap em with a chance of never seeing em again which brings me back to that short time leash their master got on them. we can wait a while longer. at lease EVERYBODY will be happy cause everybody got the people they wanted. final fantasy 13 still isnt out yet, and it been some years now. im sure we can wait on this too instead of rushin it to come out so early. why you think sf4 had flukes in it. good things come to play when you wait.

lol. These characters were in development for MONTHS. No, you simply can't build a full character in 10 days. The visual design alone takes longer than that, let alone adapting old attacks into the new play style, coming up with original attacks for the missing ones, and finally balancing (which is a combinatorial explosion as you add more characters).
Pretty much everything you said about developing a game of this size makes no sense, from "they got multiple people, they can make it happen" to "playin it for fun".

People complaining about selecting ultras:
You get to use one of the strongest attacks in the game for TAKING A BEATING. And you still want mind games for free? FFS. I'm all for multiple super attacks, but ultras plain don't deserve it.

About final fantasy 13:

As for why I think it sucks, it's a typical hollywood movie featuring you tough chick whose lost the love of her life, the pretty boy who all the girls will either ignore or fall over themselves to get, and the black guy who's the comic relief with slow-mo action sequences and over the top set pieces and battles.

FF13 the most unbareable version of the ATB system I've seen: the longer you way the more attacks you can do at once but hey at first you can only do 3, and you only control the party leader.

then let's not forget after every battle you heal automatically if you win it. aka we're dumbing down the health system so you don't have to worry about it after battle cause your guys automatically heal after battle, and I'm talking about after you kill that same level 1 goblin each time even if you got dinged for 2 hp or that level 30 boss that nearly killed you you automatically heal though you weren't in a safe place and have another 5 minutes before you are at a safe point.

Then don't get me started on the "leveling" system which is pretty much the sphere system from ff10 so instead of you earning the thing by using it you can just buy it and use it whenever you feel even if it dosen't fit your character's style.

FF13 is just leaving a very bad taste in my mouth after knowing SE is capble of stories like FF6 and DQ5 and game play like KH which is totally real time battling and leveling systems like brave fencer musashi and ff2 but go to these simple weird quirky things that infact pull me out of the experience and not want to go foward with the story

-138 - That's the (Final Fight and) Bushin Target combo, looks kinda weird in SF4 full 3D (Jab not having that classic backfist reach), and Gen's weren't really target combos, but yeah, Gen has neat stuff, glad it might come back more for him too. Get more off of that MK, crouching MK too.

-227 - Nobody uses Dudley? There's always strategy on character matchups for Dudley in tournaments since there's always bound to be a bunch of them who play pretty well. Write it all in CAPS next time too, that might make it sound more like a real point!

Even though ur a troll, i agree. I had a session last nite and out of like 50 matchs NO ONE attacks. If im not the agressor we seriously just sit there for 99 seconds staring at each other. Its just boreing. I hate a guy a few times and figured i sit there and see what he would do, and he waited 45 seconds to attempt anything. its a joke. I agree about the art styles. FREE1UP makes a good point how Adon is kind of a stupid addition (even though his artwork is perfect for this game and i kind of wanted him in)

I think Karin, Alex, and Ibuki are bad choices. But i think Ibuki and Dudley are in. Now that i think about it, i really dont want Ibuki. only reasons so far is the kunai, the polls, the rumor list, and the fact that she is a decent female fighter. Karin and Alex are substituted by Sakura and Abel. And YES i have played Alpha 3/Third strike and i know there not the same characters but their SIMILAR.

Praying we get atleast 10 characters.

Also a message to Capcom:
The Ultra for Adon should be toned down (visually) by keeping it 3 overhead kicks, smack up in the air like he did, and then only make it two kicks mid-air instead of 4, and THEN finish with the knee in the neck. I think it would look a lot smoother. Cody and Guy's Ultra's are a bit "multiple-hit hefty" and i think it would balance out.

The point isn't about how much Capcom needs your money to survive. The point is that Capcom did has already given you a game for your money. They do not owe you anything more. By this logic, every person and business you ever bought anything from or spent money on owes you something. Do you really believe that the kid that mows your lawn owes you?

That is different from sponsors where people gave Capcom money for promises. In this case, Capcom does infact owes those people something.

In conclusion, Capcom does not owe you anything for a game you did not sponsor and you did not buy yet. Just because you bought one game from them does not mean they owe you anything more.

I'm not defending Capcom or anything and this post will proabably be moderated, but just want to share my though on that.

yeah i did see the slow motion on the ultras. gives it like that "take that biatch" look with it. wonder if they'll hook chun li up with her alphs up kick like they got gen set up cause it sucks havin to do the back m.kick, m. kick, down up m.kick. cause i came across alot of jumpers over time and that was my main thing i used to stop those pesky jumpers with. lol. probably not, but that would be nice to do again.

shes not that bad. the harder the challenge is, the better. out of all the character, i say able is my big challenge. gotta be real quick against him. he rolls then try to grab which i hope they fix cause i hate when my hand goes through someone cause im not close enough. got the wheel kick. that guy is very dangerous. you stop for a sec, he will het ya good, so yeah give me someone that im gonna have to lean forward on the couch to. lol

@ saiferoth Deejay is a charge character but he doesn't really need to charge his projectiles and rolling sabot of course u charge but he is far from a turtle my friend play him at a high level and he makes him look like quarter circle character Deejay is Legit

Ahhh you are right... but I still think ULTRA looks fine. It is not a big deal and I am glad Capcom is not reading every request of everyone or this game would be delay further. Capcom is simply want to give the ULTRA some "look" of damage like in KOF

Arika probably holds the rights to the characters since they used a few of them in fighting layer which is not connected to Capcom. Im sure Capcom could have some ownership over the franchise but they may have to pay royalties or buy the characters out to use them. So unfortunatly seeing Garuda in Super is less likely than Albert Wesker In the game.

If anything its been a huge proven fact, that every revived character from Street Fighter 1 has been a massive success story! Adon, Birdie and Gen were revived from SF1 for the SF Alpha Series. Even Eagle got revived for the; 'Capcom Vs Snk 2' game.

Heck although not revived yet, even Geki has clear ties to Ibuki and pops up in her background stage in SF3/SF3 2nd Impact. So altogether; Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Gen and now the return of Adon for SSF4. Says quite alot for mere characters made way back in 1987 for a video game called Street Fighter! That have grown into iconic fighting game characters, people the world over admire (i.e. fighting game fans) over the last 20 plus years.

So i wouldn't knock it, in terms of SF1 characters returning in any shape or form.

Should Capcom put; 'Retsu', 'Birdie', 'Eagle', 'Joe' or 'Geki' back in the next SF4 series iteration, EventHubs would go bananas and crazy and thensome with that kind of big news, lol!

The SF1 boxer 'Mike', more or less became M.Bison (Balrog/Boxer) in SF2. So thats why i didn't include him with the others, its so obvious. But fans argue over that fact even today, whether he is or isn't the same character?, so why confuse the issue, thus i mentioned him seperately etc.

Yeah, i'd love to see the EX characters back in an official Capcom SF game like SF4. But its the damn rights issue that screws that up. Capcom got money to buy'em but as you've pointed out, its probably going to be the royalties they wouldn't want to pay out thats the main problem of getting the SF:EX characters to be in an official SF title once more.

Capcom need to make a "Street Fighter EX: Remix" game!

But unlike SF4, the graphics could be a little more like Tekken 6. And perhaps they'd introduce the use of cardreaders etc! Something to make 'EX' stand out, cos SF4's kinda rehashed what SF:EX originally had anyways? (unblockable attacks, SF characters in 3D,)

Perhaps the graphics could look like the CGI Guile and M.Bison that artist recently put up online.

new trailers wicked the music and intro starting off cody nice.english sounds much more exciting and edge of ur seat.not so good jap version.
