GameShark.com has special deal on Mad Catz joysticks

MarkMan posted a heads up that at some point today GameShark.com should have a special deal on Mad Catz FightSticks. Here's the lowdown.

  • $50 off Round 1 Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition FightSticks (PS3).
  • Buy one Standard Edition FightStick, get another one for free. (PS3/XBox 360).
A few readers noted these offers are only available for people living in the U.S.A. The last time deals like these came up, the products sold out rather quickly. This was a little ways back when the sticks were in higher demand though. Regardless, if you want to purchase one of these, it'd probably be smart to act quickly.

This special deal is supposed to last until Monday, Nov. 30th.

Sooo there's no good deal for the 360. Weak.

...And how good were those Tekken 6 sticks???? Amazon was selling them for 65$ yesterday! Crazy.

if youre talking about the tekken 6 sticks that came bundled with the game its not even worth $40 in my opinion. that stick sucks balls. and even with the $50 discount on the TE sticks I feel they are still way overpriced.

I'm not seeing this deal, it's still $150 for the PS3 one.

don't you remember the X360 TE sticks going for less then 100 on Dell? That wasn't for PS3.

I don't even see a round 1 stick in their store. Unless they're gonna add it....

It's for Black Friday so you won't see the deal until tomorrow.

How about changing the title of this post to mention that the deal is only relevant to ppl living on planet America.

so 50 dollars off the ps3 version that's pretty good, but does the ps3 fightstick work on Pc? Just wanna confirm this because im seeing here on

http://www.japanvideogames.com/Sony-P...

it says
"Sorry, this joystick will not work on PC's and cannot be returned unless defective on the PS3 only."

Posted by Monk on November 26, 2009 at 12:55 a.m. #17

@#16:

Apparently it is supposed to work for the PC, some PC rigs, however, don't recognize the drivers. There are ways around this though. I have heard plenty of people say it just works, (plug n play). Some people have to download a work around driver or something to make it compatible. Regardless about that fact, all Xbox 360 sticks work perfectly with the PC.

The PS3 just gets occasionally shafted in this respect.

Sorry guys, didn't know this was only applicable to people in America, I'll update the post. Also changed the link to point directly to the products the special deal is for.

Hey, a question to you who have experience in modding sticks:

I ordered myself Madcatz SE stick, and im planning on modding it with Sanwa push buttons. Is it recommended to order joystick too (if so, i sanwa is the way to go?). I remember hearing something about SE stick joystick problems, but were those only in the first shipments, or does the problem still occur?

i have a question to for experienced modders i bought 8 seimitsu ps-14-kn buttons for my TE stick can anyone tell me how i would go about wiring them so they light up any information would be helpful thanks

Posted by cactusjack on November 26, 2009 at 6:02 a.m. #24

@punarkist i would definitely get a sanwa joystick i have an SE stick any mod it with sanwa and the difference in the joystick ÷buttons was 10 times better if i was you i would but that's just my opinion

@22 i have two SEs. I modded the PS3 one right away ... and i have the parts for the 360 one but said "i'll just wait till it stops performing to swap it out" ... that was release day. I have not yet swapped out the 360 parts and i play it just as often and have not noticed any game-changing difference. but maybe im just one of the lucky ones
