Guy, Cody and Adon confirmed for Super Street Fighter 4
Two scans from Famitsu magazine in Japan have popped up on the internet showing Guy, Cody and Adon in Super Street Fighter 4. These characters look very close to their Street Fighter Alpha counterparts with Cody still sporting a jail outfit, handcuffs and a knife.

So far, the majority of the rumored characters have been officially confirmed by Capcom, but there's still a few things on the list that are questionable and aren't likely to come to pass now considering what we've heard since that rumor list was originally written.

Wow, the fabled 'list' was on the mark again, wasn't it?
In some way it's kinda sad that despite what will be a rather large roster, playing online will still be a Sagat/Ryu/Ken-fest. Still, this should mix it up a little - hopefully anyway.
Predictions: Adon to get BRUTALLY raped in his match-up vs. Sagat, Guy to be top tier (even if it isn't reflected in the initial tiers, it'll happen) and Cody... I really don't know much about Cody =/. Which is awful on my part. Guess I'll learn...

lol, this is pretty cool, I wonder if Cody will have his knife, if that is possible to work in SFIV. Cody looks a little weird too, but Adon looks amazing.
All I can hope for is that Adon retains his crazy theme from Alpha, wailing guitar solos in Thailand FTW!

I don't know why EventHubs is so obsessed with Dudley, all the old rumours point to him being one of the new additions, but I don't see how he would fit. He's too much alike Balrog, even more than Ryu/Ken/Akuma.
Personally I'm hoping for Yun/Yang to be the last 2 additions. We're down 6 characters, only 2 to go.

I figured Adon would worm his way into this iteration. From Sagat's cutscene (iirc) it was practically a dead giveaway. And I've always kind of liked Guy and Cody for some reason. This should be very interesting.

Any body else think these pictures look a little.... off? I don't know if they are early renderings but they don't look up to par with the other models. Especially Cody's. I may be one of the few fans out there who didn't want to see Guy or Cody in this game. Final Fight Chars just seem out of place to me. Adon feels right for this game, and I hope that Karen gets a spot in it. As for 3rd strike chars, I really don't like their art designs, so I hope they won't be in.

OH MY GOD!!! CODY!! GUY! I am very pleased with this announcement. I do agree that Cody's artwork needs some improvement. But that can improve before the game is released. I am surprised by Adon but I am good with some more representation from Street Fighter I. I am a little bummed because i'm pretty sure Rolento didn't make it into the game but...GUY AND CODY!! Aster, shut up already, you have no idea what you're talking about and have obviously never even played Third Strike. Dudley's fighting style is NOTHING like Balrog. Other than being a boxer, they have no similarities in the way they play. For one thing Balrog is a charge character.

mmm... i'm kinda disapointed, we have to wait before complaining but I'm surprised by the lack of originality of the cast.
Why don't bring atypic characters like Oro,Q,Elena... We already have a ton of "hero type"character...

Im willing to put alot of money down that there will definitly be more than 8 new characters total. My guess is that the final number is closer to 10. They said "about" 8. Not just 8.
I also say ibuki is in, and so is another brand new character. Like that Arabic Grappler that was rumored a while ago. My other guesses go out for Makoto, and possibly 1 or 2 more characters after that for a Grand total of 10.

totally agree with Jordan. I play Balrog in SF2 and SF4. although I am not really a 3S player I have played enough 3S to say that Dudley and Balrog are totally different.

They gave us four characters, so my guess is that they'll feather us with videos or a press release to show off these characters until christmas when they announce Hakan. Tease us with some new stages, then probably give us the last two third strike characters. GUY, CODY (BLeh lol), ADON, and IBUKI FTW.

Im more interested in the new Moves they are adding to the orignal cast as well as teh new ultras, etc. This is the kind of updates I can't wait to see!!!!

If only 8 characters are I confirmed, then I believe the last 2 are going to the Hakan and Dudley. Ibuki and Makoto were probably too young for the timeline. But anything could happen at this point.

I would bet money that the entire rumor list is true by now.
So Cody, Guy and Adon complete the returning Alpha list. Next up should be the 3rd Strike list and already Ibuku is given away so i expect Dudley and Makoto as well. Hakan will probably revealed at the very end

I think not all new characters fit the description of "back to the basics". Street Fighter is about martial artists from around the world who participate in a fighting tournament. Guy and Cody are just characters from a beat 'em up. They are not "martial artists from different countries". It would be better if they designed new martial arts characters from other countries. That is why I don't like Rose. She's not a martial artist. They should add more Korean martial artists who do Hwarangdo and Hapkido. Also, add a Shaolin character from China, a greek-roman wrestler and a kickboxer from a random country.

Ono said there will be roughly 8 characters. It's not 100% confirmed that there will be exactly 8 characters. Roughly 8 could mean there might be 9, there might even be 10. Nobody knows yet except the team that are working on the game. Learn to read sources.

Oh god... Adon... He is one of the most annoying SF characters ever. That jerk smile and creepy voice just get on my nerves, he looks like a goblin. His ridiculous hair doesn't help either. He plays ok I guess but there are many many better characters to choose from.
Cody and Guy are ok, but why does Cody still wear that stupid convict outfit? And Guy wearing that weird ninja outfit with sneakers XDDD It was ok in the 90s but... I don't know... I'm sort of disappointed.
And here I was hoping for Capcom to rescue the good 3rd Strike characters... I guess they can only add about 2 or 3 of them now. Man I would love to see Alex in this game, at least they gave a hint that Ibuki's in.

This is good. Hopefully guy and adon will retain there speed from the previous games. And I would have figured cody wouldnt be in strips but o well. As long as his moves are similar. So now with t.hawk,deejay,juri and guy,cody,adon we have over 30 fighters in super4, hopefully they will put time into balance so we get more variety online this time around. there no freakin reason to only fight ryu all day.

Ibuki confirmed?: Niga Bridges pointed out that in the first image in the top right corner, Guy is hitting back a kunai (dagger) and a translation of the text by Benichon also confirms this is what's happening. A kunai is the weapon Ibuki uses, which is a strong hint that she will be in the game.

Cody got Rhumatoid Arthritis in his knees and had to stop fighting because he could barely stand. SOme of his old enemies captured him and gave him a massive dose of a drug called glow and used him to fight his brother kyle. After Cody and Kyle defeated all thier enemies Cody realized he could no longer feel any pain.

It seems that Capcom really liked the alpha series. I mean we have 7 of alpha already in SF4. The SF3 characters were not even announced yet. I think Capcom is still afraid of the SF3 characters. They have to bring Karin back. She has such a funny personality. She is the female equivalent of Ken and Sakura is Ryu's equivalent.

It seems to be true mostly because every time I see a video, the interviewee always says "around 8" they never say 8 straight up. But I am on board with Cody's face needing work! I hope its not too late to fix this! I don't like Cody at all, he looks terrible on those scans. Prison uniform is just awful, reminds me of the Three Stooges. Guy is a little better, but still boring (american hero... blah). Adon is good, except for his voice. Ibuki is a great addition, it will be fun to play her again.

You know what pleases me the most? Of ten characters, one has a charge projectile, one has a slow-ass startup projectile, and one has an air projectile.
Only 3 characters in 10 have projectiles, while in the SF2 days it was about half the cast. Out of those, only Dee Jay's is really spammable (Guile-style walking back or turtling). People oughtta learn how to play for reals.

Jesus, just how right are those leaked details?! This roster, is shaping up to be truly exciting. Not everyone will get the characters they want (Charlie, Sean, Karin, Alex, R. Mika, and personally, Yang), but there hopefully one person in these announcements that all of us have an interest in.
I'm just glad that Capcom have brought the Final Fight IP back into the SF universe with the addition of Guy & Cody. And with the hint of Ibuki really being in this, we'll finally get to see some 3rd Strikers take on some classic characters again as well. With all this crossover, and Ono's desire to do other fighters based on Darkstalkers and CvS, I hope that in a future iteration of SF4, there will be a special appearance of a playable character from those franchises in SF4. If I had my choice, I'd go with:
- Morrigan Aensland (DarkStalkers): The way she normally looks would make her seem really out of place, but if they made her look like her more human self:

...if there were "flashes" of her true form when she performed moves, supers & ultras, she would be more exciting to watch in action than most of the characters in the roster. Granted, this series has enough shotos as is, but another female in the mix is definitely worth it.
- Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury/KoF): I've been campaning for this dude for a while, but if they every pull a "Fatal Fury Special" with this series and want to bring an "outsider" into the roster as a special last boss (i.e. Ryo Sakazaki in FFS), Ono should definitely network with SNK to draft Terry. After how disappointing KoF XII was and Ono's desire to make CvS3, a "special challenger" from SNK in SF4 could build interest in another crossover and make CvS3 a reality someday.
As far fetched as that sounds, and with Sven & Seth's reminders that there is "no demand" for even CvS2, chances are slim that we'll see one anytime soon, but this fool can hope. ^_^

What makes you think that Makoto is too young? She has to be around the same age as Ibuki, who went to college in one of her endings. Absolute worse case scenario is that Makoto ends up 15 in SSF4, which is fine because Sakura was 15 in Alpha. Makoto is too popular and too good to not include in this game. Not that that really matters, no one at Capcom would disregard a fan-appealing, money-making character like Makoto because of her age anyway.

I don't think we should worry about the art too much. The same thing happened when the stills for Ryu came out originally. Once the videos hit, everything was cleaned up, and people were on board (for the most part). I doubt the characters will look terrible once the game hits stores. A little optimism goes a long way.

Since the very beginning they said they were going to include 10 new characters.
Juri, T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Guy, Cody, and Adon. That's a total of 6 confirmed characters. Only 4 more to go, which I assume are going to be Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, and Hakan.

Great, because without any stupid comic value, the character is a proper SF character and not a joke. Dan is surprisingly strong in SF4 anyhow so adding Sean to the roster, would only naturally be a better fit all round, cos unlike Dan, Sean isn't a joke character. And Sean was top tier in SF3:2nd Impact. When was Dan ever top-tier in any former SF game in its series by chance?

Excellent reply whomever?, haven't thought about it quite like that. Capcom with a hidden surprise and play on words, that there would be in fact, 2 extras spots for more 'new' characters would be sweet indeed. If true, i'd hope that'd add in SSF4; Charlie from SF Alpha and Hugo from SF3. Cos i reckon they'd add a combat type fighter along with a grab character. But if not Hugo then Birdie in his stead. Or even a toss up between Alex or Sean from SF3 to be the second bonus character, if one from each previous SF series was an additional extra bonus character to be added to SSF4!
Alex would be a hidden character along with Charlie who challenged players only when certain requirements were met. and one can surmise a guess that they might also have secret alternate characters variations, thus allowing Charlie to become 'Shadow' or a SF3:2nd Impact powerful Sean to challenge Ken or Ryu?!? These extra two would also have to be unlocked like the SF4 home characters were originally. Seeing as Capcom are sly devils, and said the home SF4 would be selectable from the start, however they'll say nothing about some of the new SSF4 characters possibly being hidden or require the need to be unlocked, though?
The list of ideas and possibilities goes on and continues to grow i reckon!

To the people who say "two character slots left":
First, like people said earlier, they said "about 8."
But more importantly, that's "developer speak" and it's important to learn what that means. On the one hand it allows them to change their minds later if they decide that one character just couldn't cut it during development, or something. If they say "10 new characters" right off the bat then people are going to riot if there are less. But also, it's a way for them to add something special (bonus-like) to the announcements for the characters beyond that point, or to make things seem like a surprise. For those reasons it seems common for developers to undershoot numbers like that.

I am pretty sure makoto and ibuki are in. They need to add a couple more girls to the mix so it won't be a complete sausage fest.
Overall I am happy with the news this game will not be so boring as street fighter 4 after a while.

I'm still going with the leaked character list. Wasn't there some confusion about if they would be able to get the license for Final Fight characters? There are two of them, so it would be 8 without them. Now that they are definitely in, there are 10.

For those that slept, the Street Fighter Canon is always subject to change with the release of every game. Debating ages, really is a moot point, because they can change the distance of time each game takes place with every iteration of SF. Let's look at the games in their chronological order:
- Street Fighter
- Final Fight
- Street Fighter Alpha/Zero
- Street Fighter Alpha/Zero (Gold/Alpha) 2
- Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 (Upper/Saikyo Ryu Dojo/Max)
- (Super) Street Fighter II (Champ/Turbo/HD Remix)
- (Super) Street Fighter IV
- Street Fighter III (2nd Impact/3rd Strike)
- Street Fighter 2010!!! (Hell yeah, son! J/K, strike that from the record) ^_^
At this point, as far as I'm concerned each game could take place a day after the last one ends. Not that that train of thought is true, but it's safe to say that the amount of time between each varies depending on how old the characters apear in each. Ken & Ryu were in their late teens or early 20's SF & the SFA series, and in their mid to late 20's by SF II. The duration between the remaining games though is highly debatable. It could be years, months, weeks, or even days between each significant release. The time between has never been really set in stone & it if has, you best believe it is subject to change at any time.
Debating how young Makoto, Ibuki & other characters would be in SFIV is a waste of time, as the duration between IV & III could be mere minutes for all we know. While we're on the subject of ever-changing canon, characters who we thought were dead could turn up very much alive in the next game (i.e. Rose & Gouken), so the lesson there is never say never.
In the comic book industry, writers always say that you can never bring back Bucky, Gwen Stacy, and Jason Todd, but in some way shape or form, they've all come back. Why shold video games be any different?

A lot of these comments really boggle the mind. Glad these ppl aren't games designers. A definite NO to weird 3rd strike characters. Someone once said it got way too sci-fi and strange character designs that look more in place with darkstalkers than SF ( Q,12,necro,etc. ) but Dudley,Makoto and Ibuki are OK ( apart from Ibuki's knives ). SF more to do with martial arts, even if it's fantasized versions. Personally that's what put me off SF3, and the choice of music as well. More like lounge/bar music to chill out with some weed than fighting tunes. SF2 music had the right theme; suits the fighters' fight style and cultural background.Not too keen with weapons characters too, a bit off the unarmed combat theme. That's why i'm not too keen on Rolento ( although interesting but knives, grenades and hooks?!!! ) and Cody/Ibuki's knives. Vega (claw) gets a pass only due to the fact that he's the original cast.

Next confirmation is going to be Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto. I hope that all their designs look good. I fear for Makoto especially because I'm worried that she'll be too dude-esque. Still Capcom hasn't made any bad looking characters in (S)SF4 so far, and they'll probably continue that high quality for the remaining charactes.

I am glad with a cool mix of rush characters into the mix such as Guy and Adon, and in some respects Cody...But come on Capcom, too many Alpha characters as it is...We already have Sakura, Dan, Gen, and Rose and now these guys...I will give up all of them for just a small selection of 3rd strike characters..I would have much preferred Hugo over T.Hawk anyday..

People, Capcom has listened to their fans requests, and they just developed the new characters based on these requests. These characters will obviously make some of us happy, and some won't. You can't have a game including only characters from your wishlist, that's a fact. I personally don't like some of the new characters, but I know I will find mine in a list of 35 characters, which is an impressive list. So be patient and if your character is not among the new ones, well, send a picture of you naked to Ono, maybe he will consider your choice for the next SF.

Usually I don't like to complain about an upgrade, it's great that we're getting new characters and all, but I wish it was someone other than Cody. He looks uninteresting and generic (blonde white guy wearing jeans and a white T-shirt or a ridiculous jail outfit), and his moves are nothing special.

I agree with what you said, but I have a few notes:
- The first Alpha is not on the timeline, as A2 is a revisit of it. Same for the whole SFII series before ST, and for SF3:NG.
- 2I deserves its own place on the timeline. 3S is a continuation (like A3 is to A2).
- Everything points that SSFIV will have its own place too, though I'm not sure it's been officially announced yet. (Which would make it the first game ever since SFII to be accepted into canon right on first release, without reviews)
- I agree many of the dates are blurry, but in most cases one game can't realistically happen minutes after another. New world tournaments don't happen overnight, so for almost every game you can add at least one year in between each other. But yeah, one year is still a lot less than five years or so.

With all of this Cody-hate, I'll crack up if he ends up top tier. BTW, for all those that want to set rules of what should and shouldn't be in the game, you're over looking the title of the series. Last I checked, in street fights, there are no rules.
If Vega wants to be a bitch and arm himself with a claw, so be it. If Cody intermittently rocks a knife and rocks during a battle, is that shocking for the roadhouse brawler he is? If Rolento brings his cutlery set, grenade belt and his boys to the rumble is that...alright, maybe that's a bit excessive, but no less cool. In a world where fighters have pyrotechnics bursting from their fists, why even debate where knives and grenades fall in the grand scheme of things.
In the end, you walk into a street fight expecting a code of conduct, you'll probably be the one laid out. If you walk into Street Fighter expecting realism, let me be the first one to show you the door.

So Blanka, Seth, M. Bison, Rose(maybe even Viper)...aren't Sci-Fi? Yeah okay. SF3's music fit the characters well. 3rd Strike didn't get everything right, but past iterations did better than 3rd Strike in some ways. Like, Hugo's 2I stage is way better than his 3S one. Ibuki's kunai aren't like Cody's knives...its more like a follow-up attack than a full fledged move.
People should be happy about the returning characters...Capcom is doing their best to make them interesting. Dee Jay already looks more fun than any of his past iterations(although I played him lots in Alpha 3), lets just hope he doesn't make Guile obsolete.
Hakan is what we have to worry about...we have no idea what he'll be like gameplay-wise.

He sounds like a stereotypical, un-interesting, low tier grappler that we dont need in SSF4. To be honest, i dont like him because he cant contribute to SF in any way, other than be grappler, except darker than el fuerte. I just hope the rumor list gets this one a bit wrong and they ocmpletely change his character around. I mean they still have a bunch of time to change stuff so lets all pray that we get something better.

I agree 50/50 with the comments here. On one hand, I'm excited beyond belief that we're getting this upgrade -- I seriously can't wait until Spring '10. It's great that Capcom listens to the community enough to push to keep the SF series alive and well.
On the other hand, from a purely character based perspective, I can't say I'm too happy about Cody, Guy and Adon. I mean jeeze, like someone said earlier, it's becoming a sausage fest. They could have at least replaced one of them with Karin to give the cast some variety and flavor, not just endless tough guys with super serious faces. Adon is at least somewhat of an weird/interesting guy, but Cody looks like an NPC from any non-descript videogame.
And as for Dudley, I know he's different than rog but I mean...do we really need another no kick boxer? Wouldn't you rather see Remmy? (KIDDING, jeeze)

Rolento also throws a Kunai (dagger) at a downward angle. Guy could very well be fending off a Rolento dagger attack. You guys forget how good Rolento was. I really hope Capcom can bring in Rolento, and Ibuki if they choose to add the 3S characters, but we will see when things are confirmed!

I think u misunderstand. SF itself is a fantasized version of martial arts but going back to SF2 roots as they intended was to tie it back to the world warrior cultural roots and unarmed combat. Yeah shooting chi force out of your hands is fantasy but still largely based on the mythical side of martial arts. But going all weapons ( a la rolento ) is a bit off-theme. Don't need this to become like mortal kombat. I can accept ibuki and cody. Doesn't bug me that much.

If you notice, i didn't exactly endorse them did I? Blanka's original wild man concept is fine. Bison is acceptable as a hard-ass general with scientifically enhanced powers to boost his martial art skills. But Q,12,necro,etc. is really off the mark. Even u can tell the difference.
As for the music in SF3 it became too generic. All of them are drum and bass stuff which completely lost the cultural aspect. If u google search, u'll find that even Ono was embarrassed about that since he oversaw it. There's a reason why the SSFT themes remain the most popular and have the most fan-based remix out of all the series. They have cultural identity and soul. I don't need Honda,Ryu,Feilong,etc's theme going all techno or drum n bass on me just to pander to trend when it clearly doesn't suit. SF3 themes have no variation. I'm glad some of the SF4 music retain some suitable identity e.g. downtown China stage. Still be better.

reason why I say Geki is because they said atleast 2 fighters from each series added in ssf4, with the street fighter 2 cast already filled out they only have 3 other games to take 6 fighters from, Adon originally appeared in SF1 making him the SF1 character, Cody and guy first appeared in alpha/Zero making them the Zero characters, leaving 3 character slots open 1 other from SF1 and 2 from SF3

The leak has been spot on everything. It will be DUDLEY, MAKOTO, IBUKI and HAKAN.

Street Fighter was inspired by Fist of the North Star...Hakodo No Ken...Hado Ken...akuma is basically one of the demon statue in the movie and shows. Gouken is KenShiro master...and im not making this up.

The Street Fighter plot-line (or lack of one) changes with every set of hands it finds itself in. Doesn't matter how dead a character is, just like in other forms of media, there's no stopping Capcom from bringing Chuck Nash back on a whim. If may not be this game, but if they did, the only one that would be shocked is you.

Damn, fellas. We haven't even seen the motherf*cker yet, and already cats slingin' $h!t at him. If he's an oil wrestler, it might not be the most hygienic fighting style, but G0ddamn, talk about a big difference in typical characters in fighting games. If he's anything like Jason Statham in the first Transporter when he melee fought those dudes in the warehouse when covered in motor oil, Hakan might be standout when the game hits.
@Strange SFIII Character-haters
Yeah, some of them are bizarre and/or freakish. (Gill, Urien, Oro, Q, Necro & Twelve, I'm looking at you.) They also have their own style and show that their respective creators were trying to present something different than your typical rosters in fighting games. When have we not seen that in even the best of fighters. SFII had Blanka & Dhalism, but now that their cultural icons, no one complains about how weird they are. Strange can also become unique and iconic, and I have no problem with them pulling from even the weirdest of SFIII's roster.
And highly flammable. Ken can't wait to fight him.

some things have been spot on but theres the whole part of game play that isn't confirmed or infact proven false:
isn't confirmed list:
1.All characters still have one Super, except Sakura who apparently has a Shinkuu Hadoken (Super Fireball) as well.
2.Guile has his Sonic Hurricane move from Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
3.Rufus can cancel-break the last hit of his Spectacle Romance, or the launch kick of Space Opera Symphony.
4.There's a new gameplay system called Tadan Saving, the phrase implies a multi-hitting or multiple-level Focus Attack.

1.The console characters are all said to be added to the upcoming arcade release, with the possible exceptions of Seth and Gouken.(they had no plans of doing SSF4 for the arcade let alone updating the arcade)
2.This will be an exclusive arcade release at least for a few months.(when infact it might be an exclusive console release for a few months

Tho I don't follow the Udon Comic,im pretty sure the reason why they didn't show Deejay/Thawk because it was pretty well known that they originally meant to appear in SF4.
Bringing back a character that we haven't heard from since SF3 and encountering a character from SF4 is a pretty clear indication that Ibuki is active during SF4 and has a big shot at appearing in SSF4(tho im 100% sure she is).
But we saw Adon in Sagat's intro of SF4 and he appeared in SSF4 so what about Yun/Yang?
Still,So many new/rumored and cool characters..

Third Strike will have 0 characters, only shot is Yun and thats a VERY small chance. 3rd strike is the Halloween 3 of street fighter. The S.I . N. storyline has nothing to do with 3s or its charactersl Ono has even openly said he doesn't like SF3. They had the arcade and console release to get in an not a single character got in.

i gotta disagree. capcom owe us everything. without us, they would make no money. with no money, they would fall. we pay damn good money for these games. we should get our moneys worth. i know their working hard, but there are alot of people that dagree with the choices they have so far. you even got people on here who want crazy selections of characters back. let them have it. you got character that you like or dont like, but at least you know someone out there is playing with em. why just scrap em? why pay for certain characters? what happen to customer service. more satisfaction, more money.

There's nothing wrong with SF3,the freakish cast aside,the game is pretty solid.

These SF3 bashers go out of their way to make themselves look like idiots who don't know anything about the game and have never played it.
As some one who loves the SF3 series, it's not perfect(balance, HUD/interface could use work, I don't like Twelve) but it got me into fighting games, so I have soft spot for it there. It easily the easiest SF game to play. It moves, flows, and plays so much more naturally. Yeah it has all that parry crap, which is fun but you don't need it to enjoy the game. I still don't get people how complain about the complexity, it isn't any more complex than SFIV or Guilty Gear or BlazBlue. To this day, it feels smooth and quick, not stiff and slow like lots of old fighting games(SF2 included). Although I still think Alpha 2 is probably the best SF game overall, even if the roster isn't all there.

The vast majority of Capcom's staff agree that Street Fighter achived perfection in 3S. For all you people claimimg it sucs did you ever wonder why it's played at all major tournaments every year since it's release. Everyone knows by know it wasn't the characters that alienated the audience from 3S, it was because the game ran faster, the combers were longer and tighter, and parries were to hard for regular players to preform.
Third Strike is for pros only if you don't have fun playing it guess what that makes you.

I am kinda happy that these characters have made it to ssf4 because i want i diverse cast of characters and not a bunch of clones.
And i believe capcom is thinking like this as well and that is why we will not see some 3rd strike chars in ssf4 because there are already to similar to other chars in sf4.
Alex - Abel
I like Alex in sf3 but Abel is an sf4 interpretation of him and he does play a lot like him but with good command throws but no boot.
So face it Abel is a good rehash/remix of Alex.
Yang/Yun - Rufus / Gen
There is quite a bit of similarity between Gen and the Y brothers in therms of special moves and story line.
Gen is Yang/Yun master.
But Gen plays a bit slower and has no dive kicks, this is where Rufus steps in he is a rushdown char with dive kicks and furious normals.
And would you like to play with Yang/Yun with out their sa3 because in a previous statement from capcom so did the say that there would be no super/ultras like that.
Dudley - Balrog?
There is no denying that Dudley is a spinoff from the champ there are some playstile similarity's but not enough to say that they are the same characters like Ryu/Ken and Yang/Yun. And i have not been playing enough sf3 to determine just how like they are.
So i think that he maybe will be poping up in ssf4 fan demand and all that.
But i dont care to much cos i got my Dee Jay :)

BTW, in case anybody is wondering, Guy is focusing that Kunai, not parrying/deflecting it. Notice the pose he has is the same as his focus attack in the bottom-right picture, the blue "absorption" effect and the leftover traces of ink above his head and along his arm.

No, there IS denying. I completely disagree that they bear any similarities in play style, just like pretty much anyone who's played the two. I bet whoever designed Dudley actually went like "let's break everyone's expectations and design a boxer that LOOKS like Balrog, but is COMPLETELY UNLIKE him in every other aspect!" And bang, a character with no charges (while Balrog is all-charges, even button charges), lots of juggling, and ridiculously educated and well-mannered (as opposed to Balrog's rudeness).
If you are looking for a Balrog on SF3, you should try Q. That's lightyears closer.

Makoto is one of the most obscure Street Fighter characters of all time. Street Fighter III produced almost no fan favorites, and Makoto was not even among the most popular compared to her castmates.
There's a reason SFIV was a sequel to SFII and not SFIII. If anyone thought Makoto would put asses in the seats, she would have been put into SFIV, not forgotten 10 years ago.

@341, you fail. Adding Guy and Cody and Adon was good for an offensive-style of play to this game, but Rolento is one of the premier turtle-stoppers, his game is very diverse and brings alot of fun into SF. I really hope he is added, and it only makes sense that they add him, as adding just 1 3S character would seem out of place, sort of like when they add a random Star Wars character in Soul Calibur 4...like wtf?
I dont think Capcom is that stupid. 3S was a good game for the pros who enjoy easy punish with parries and a very defensive/turtle style. SF4 started going way too defensively to be enjoyable, as can be seen when you see high level play with both charge characters just sitting on both ends waiting for time to run out....*yawn* boring!
Adding ROLENTO/ADON/GUY makes that very different, and i think they want to add that "SUPER" to SF4 with offensive-minded strategies being rewarded moreso than an easy-mode turtling SRK reversal> FADC> Ultra.

Bastardizing hardcore SF fans by not including the lionshare of fan-favorite characters is making an ultimate game? The whole point of 3S was the 2I didn't do well enough, so they added more familiar characters. It pretty much looks like anyone who argues for 3s is saying the parry system made it the best game ever. If thats what you believe, that's fine, it's your opinion. Ostracizing everyone else as "scrubs" (not that you did that, 365) because they don't like it (and apparently this is synonymous with "can't parry" for whatever reason) isn't opinion, it's distortion of the facts. I for one thought Alpha 3 was "the best game ever" and was completely taken aback at the seemingly horrendous cast, music, and the fact I had to choose a special. Half the strategy that made Alpha 3 so great flies out the window. If you examine games in their respective context ,however, you can appreciate them for individual reasons
It's great that people still play it, alongside Alpha 3, CVS2 and SF2HDR. 3S fans will see some of the cast in the game (you already have chun-li, ken, ryu and akuma ;-D)
and lastly, i think it's hilarious that people take a throw away comment like "cody sucks" or "adon sucks" and write a 2 page report on how dumb that person is. I'm sure if cody had been replaced by rolento like many thought, a lot of you would be disappointed, and, perhaps, take it out on poor rolento. shame on you.

They already announced what alpha characters will be in SSF4.
They announce the people in groups.. First they announced the Sf2 Characters they were bringing back.. With a Juri. Now They announced the Alpha characters. Next they will be announcing the SF3 Characters.
Rolento threw a knife in alpha, But it was a KNIFE. Not a Kunai.
They mentioned Ibuki in roster that leaked. Never has rolento been mentioned.

You third strike fans are hilarious. You all act like it's this old school ultimate street fighter. Any old time pro will tell you that the ultimate old school street fighter experience is ST/HDRemix. NONE of the top top players in the world that play all the street fighters put 3d strike as the best. What's Daigos favorite game? First ST and then SF4. What's Justin Wongs favorite games? First SF4 then Marvel. Did Alex Valle like 3d strike? No. Did John Choi like 3d strike? No.NONE of the top players really liked 3d Strike.
The cold hard truth is that all you 3d Strike fans were just the casual scrubs that came on board in the 2000s and you just flocked to the newest and hippest street fighter. Kinda like how the current new fans are coming on board straight to sf4 for being the newest and coolest. The difference is that sf4 is actually a very good street fighter, maybe not the best but much better then 3d strike ever was.
Parrying is not hard to do. It just makes the game worse. Universal overheads was probably the dumbest idea ever. Pokes are god like and turned the game into a silly game of who can poke who first at high level.3d strike had an awesome soundtrack and beautiful animation for it's time and kept the newbies occupied. Sf4 has a crap soundtrack, very nice graphics, and a much better old school fighting engine under the hood. It has the extra features (Focus Attack,Ultra) but they don't screw up the core gameplay.

thanks for the support, but im not givin up just yet. they said 8ish meaning if they got time left before release, there could, so i believe if they got time, there will be more than 10 characters. several games had those last minute new characters. just cause they said 8ish doesn't mean they cant add more than expected, but i just want to see more female variety than what their givin us. they got alot of female cast to choose from the previous sf games. karin is on that NEEDS to be in. one guy suggest pulun (dont know if i spelled it right). her style was pretty cool to for the ex series. just add a few more women (especially karin) just to jazz it up more. might get more females playin the game too if they added more women. why have so many extra dicks with only one or two extra chicks?

The bulk of the new characters seem to be more offensive oriented which is good, i just hope that they do something to the combat system as a whole. Nothing major, just a few things. It would make the new additions to the cast alot more dangerous.

I like SF3 and I don't care if most of the top AMERICAN SF players don't like SF3 because it only comes down to if you like a game or not.
And I like SF4 more than SF3,only thing I don't like is the revenge meter.
You shouldn't be awarded with an free ultra if you get the crap beaten out of you..but that's just my opinion(I understand the point of the revenge meter).
Besides,I'm pretty sure most SF3-bashers are casuals who don't understand the depth of it,because in SF2 you could just spam hadouken and get away with it.

If you don't know who Alex Valle and John Choi is then you should of probably kept quiet. These guys have been legends since 1994.
Absolute LOL if you believe Capcoms story about 3d strike being the ultimate Street Fighter.They were saying that crap for 10 years because 3d strike was such a disaster sales wise that it killed the street fighter series. It was the companies standard line whenever they were asked about a new Street Fighter. Why do you think sf4s gameplay was based on sf2 and kept as far away from 3d strike as possible?
FADC combos and all the 1 frame links in sf4 are just as hard if not harder execution wise then anything in 3d strike. Easy shoryu and Ultras just makes the game more fun for casuals. If anything 3ds had easier commands with the lack of tiger knee motions and guile/vega super commands. Everything was quarter forward circle 2 times.
Finally people played it from 99 to 08 because it was the only street fighter to play.3S is kinda like Blazblue in that it has a small following that are clinging to it(though I like BB). None of the Marvel, CvS2, or Sf2 players had a problem moving to sf4, just you whiny 3d strike players that never played anything else and are now crying that 3d strike isn't popular anymore.

Missing Rolento, new fighter, and i guess if Capcom really wants to please the lame 3S fans (who have no idea how lame the game really is compared to SF4, esp considering how easy parrying was and how it turned into a turtle-fest of footsies), they can add Ibuki and Makoto.
Otherwise, keep the 3S out of SSF4 and just promise to add them in SF5 when there's a diff engine that favors lame-like parrying again....(hopefully that's never)

I do like Adon =P Great style without being a Sagat clone really good character. Cody doesn't need is V-Style to be good. V-Style messed up the balance alot in Alpha 3 they dont want to do the same error again. The knife is a kunai and its from Ibuki. I always believed this rumor was true and i still does! Oh and im not good at SF3 3S i personally believe its not that great pretty much overrated and you just need luck to win (parry that thing is messed up) Yun and Yang still have the 'V-Style' and Oro got some endless combos too. The cast was made of bunch of freaks! Im happy that Ibuki,Makoto and Dudley were chosen. I played these and they got potential for SF4. Maybe Alex too but i dont think we need another grappler like this.

the 3rd Strike is full of freaks crap is full of wrong. Sure, it has it's obscure characters, like Q, Twelve, and Necro, but most of the cast is just as normal is SFII. Makoto, traditional Martial Artist, Ibuki, a Ninja, Dudley, a SPEEDY and completely diffrent boxer from Balrog, Yun&Yang, Chinese Martial Artists, Elena, Capueta fighter, and you even have a Sonic Boomer in there, Remy. you have Alex, which Abel was pretty much modeled after. Sean was pretty much Dan, and they just took away the fireball from him, which no one uses with Dan anyways. The list could go on.
SFII has it's freaks too. Blanka. The jungle made him green?(and gave him thunder powers?) Dhalsim. Yeah, because the power of Yoga makes you fly and stretch. M.Bison. A dictator with Psychic powers?
The only people that say 3rd Strike sucks are either Nostalgia fags that could not adjust, scrubby 09ers(though I hate to use that term), or trolls.(could be any combination of the 3)

SF3 bashers make less and less sense by the hour. Parrying is just another fun mechanic they added. They since they made a SEQUEL series, they'd make it radically different. Now Capcom is scared and they just made SF2-2 with SF4 and SSF4 is pretty much Alpha 4. Not that I don't like it, I just found it more interesting when it was a majority of new and mechanics in SF2 and 3 where as 4 is a majority of returning characters.
People going on about SF3 being a pokefest and being lame that you have to select supers(yeah, it sucks to select characters too from that perspective) are ludicrous. Do top level players play that way? No...do casuals? No, because they play the game for fun. Custom combos weren't anything like they were in Alpha either...ugh.
I wish Capcom would come out and say everything about SSFIV so everyone can STFU about this kind of sh*t.

Their are no sf3 bashers. No one starts randomly bashing sf3. It's always the sf3 fans coming onto sf4 articles and forums constantly complaining about sf4 not having parries or some other crap that start this sh*t. Sf3 series was great but it's not better or worse then sf4, just different.
I used to love 3d strike but all the obsessed 3d strike whiners that complain about everything have totally put me off 3d strike. i been playin sf for a long time. i didnt mind parry. it just make the game too easy against beginners which bums me out cause it takes out the challenge in the game because of that. i let my nephew use the cheap mode on cvs where they just hit a angle on the stick and do all the moves. its actually more fun fighting him when he use that. lets me up my fighting skills and gets me ready to face the harcore manual players. honestly, i would rather have a challenge like the way it was originaly made for instead of parryin and getting perfects all day, so ya'll cant just call the parry cons scrub. they would rather have a challenge rather than a automatic win. parry was cool for a minute, but real player would rather take a loss to rookies. that help build skills. not parryin.

You bring up critics that are "hired" for their criticisms.
I didn't mention critics period. Only that everyone in the world is criticized. Clearly your reading comprehension isn't very good so I'll let that slide.
Let's use sports writers since sports are the easiest to compare to fighting games. These writers(critics) are not hired out of the gate. They more then likely will never play the sports they write about but that's totally fine as long as they make sense.
The critic of course will have some cursory knowledge of the sport just like any "09er" would. The difference is the "09er" can actually compete in the game and have a chance. The writer however will never be able to.
So why do writers get free passes when they have no first hand experience yet 09ers who do get the short end of the stick? It's simple. The fighting game community is filled with young adolescent males who have superiority complexes.
This usually stems from insecurity and if an 09er makes any sort of point they jump on the fact that they joined a random forum later then they did.
The fact that they do this shows how small and insecure they truly are. They really feel they have won just by bringing it up so they continue to do so.
Now clearly some 09er's are morons... but that can be said of any person that is part of any group or join date that exists.
To generalize and marginalize a person because of something so arbitrary shows a persons true colors and represents the community in a bad light.
It's fine if you feel that using 09er as an insult is really funny and great but be aware any type of well adjusted person would never do so.

@395 spoken like a true scrub. 3rd strike is so much more agressive then SF4. Sf4 involves who can wait the longest to get in 3 quick pokes then back up and defend. Dont u get tired of seeing RYU vs BALROG vs DHALSIM vs SAGAT vs ZANGIEF vs RYU all the time. Parrying is better than that dumbass saving attack anyway. Parrying allows u to reverse your opponents attacks. Saving attack lets you take a hit but still does damage how stupid is that Parrying is superior to Focus Attacks in every way. Stand back and hit fierce punch until you get super then low kick into Super and repeat? Yeah that really favors aggression.

Running from the character to get a time out happened just as frequently in Third Strike.
Also, focus attacks don't deal damage unless you fail at it. The same as parrying.
They are essentially the same but Focus attacks favor strategy over guessing.
Pick and choose all you want but both games have interesting mechanics.

I don't know what game you've been playing but you are clearly confused about sf4. The tick throws are so good in this game it puts you at a serious disadvantage if you just sit back and wait for someone to attack. Not to mention how important it is to have meter in this game. In this game its good to be aggressive but you must still play smart. I'm willing to bet u say this because you don't know how to make good use of your normals.

Seriously Adon is so awesome. I hated Sagat but I love Adon to death. He's supposed to be a Sagat clone but they are so much different. The shotos should follow the design idea between Sagat and Adon.
I just hope they fix Vega this time around.
Regarding the possibility of 3S fighters: Notice that they are going by moveset uniqueness when adding these new characters. Alex, the Twins, Necro, Sean, etc... are probably not going to be in this new version because their moves resemble way to much some others. Dudley could fall into this category because his design is similar even thou the movests are not that's the reason Adon is in so Dudley is still a possibility.
Rolento is out if Ibuki is in (and it looks like it). Makoto, Q, and the infamous Oro are the most likely choices in my opinion, along with Dudley just for the sheer popularity of the character.

Good post in general, but I disagree on Super being "Alpha 4". Lots of characters in common, yes, but what makes the Alpha series is the presence of multiple supers, air blocking, rolling, its very characteristic art direction, multiple isms, stuff like that.
The characters are the same merely because (1) Alpha had almost the whole SFII cast to begin with (contrast that with III) and (2) the Alpha series was a lot more popular than the III series.

A think a lot of people are confusing 3s with sf2.3s legendary? LOL. Unless you mean legendary as in the 1 game that killed the street fighter franchise for 10 years it was such a failure.
The legendary game that sf4 should and IS trying to emulate is the sf2 series. We all grew up on sf2 not god damn 3s. sf3 series was, is, and never shall be popular to anyone but you 200-300 hardcore sf3 players. Sf2 had millions of fans worldwide in it's day. Sf4 currently has over 2 million right now. 3d strike even at it's most popular time never had more then a couple of hundred thousand.
I think you guys are just a bunch of anti-social geeks that liked it better when 20 people showed up for fighting game tournaments before sf4.

People still think SF3 "killed" the franchise? lol. It is like high school(or even worse) where people only care about how many friends you have. The argument that "millions of people play X game so Y game sucks and killed the franchise" is off the wall.
The argument about which is "better" is irrelevant. The cast for SF2 and 3 are just about as memorable and weird(IMO), SF3 and 4 gameplay wise are different enough but on a close enough level to be just looked at as two different things rather than "better".
For example Garou's gameplay is BETTER than a past Fatal Fury game for obvious reasons; But (Super)SF4's gameplay is so different from 3S's that that argument is just lame.

Um...what? I'm pretty sure no one legitimately complains about SF4 not having parries(which are being made to be a much bigger deal than they are). At the most, people want their favorite character to return. I'd rather have Rock Howard than T. Hawk or Adon in SSF4, but I know that would never happen because the game isn't called CvS3.
Oh and for the record, Alex is more like Zangief/T. Hawk+E. Honda, because of his charge moves. Oh and "IKARI" is a dumbass.

I have to agree with DrOoo.
3s really was a beloved game by the people who actually took the time and really played it. The game is over 10 years old and is still played with a good amount of frequency. You cant really say the same thing for other fighting games...other than ST.
I feel like most of the bashing for 3s are from people who never took the time to play it...hence the reasons for some pretty lame comments. I.E. Dudley playing like Balrog, Makoto similar to Gouken, 3s having freak characters etc.
And about the 3s being a turtle fest comment...i feel that is made out of ignorance as well. You can make the same argument for just about all street fighter games. In 3s there are some characters that have some turtle like tendencies, but the same can be said about SF4. Ive seen plenty of fireball war videos of SF4, but ive also seen a lot of offensive heavy videos. Same goes for 3s.

I think Taka makes a lot of sense.I personally don't hate SF3,it's still SF and I love SF.But on an SF series preference scale i favour others.The odd cast and music put me off as they really lost the cultural identity theme. Ppl say bison,dhalsim,blanka etc. but they pushed the bar not break it. Some of the SF3 cast went way off the mark. That's y Capcom brought back familiar faces in 3rd strike. But i'm fine with sf3 mechanics and great anim.SF4 is good as in better balance, more diverse and more back to original theme. i wish my opinions were completely valid because atleast they make sense and aren't bashing others. also, the most likely characters to make it are ibuki and dudley. makoto might be in but i think its dudley. personally, i dont like how makoto and gouken are a bit similar and i never really got into her, even though i kno what she's capable of.
idk its really weird to see 3S characters in SF4 (and please. PLEASE dont think i dont like 3S; its my favorite). the art styles are very polar opposite (not technically) and when u transition that art to the same in game models as their sf2 counterparts, it makes for some weird...graphics i guess. i still would like 3S characters to make it.
To get the boot: Alex, Rolento, Yun/Yang, Oro, Necro, Q, etc.
Pretty good possibilities that would transition well into SF4: Urien and Remy (i only want Urien out of those two regardless)

Lol at all the 3d strike people talking about how deep 3d strike is. Have you guys ever played another fighter? At high level play all you see in 3S is pokes into supers and parries. High level sf4 play uses every mechanic in the game and you see all kinds of crazy stuff and advanced baits and tactics.
The best games/sports in the world are easy to pick up and play and impossible to master, like sf2 and sf4. Honestly some of you 3d strike fans are going as far as trash talking sf2 (the inventor of fighting games). If you don't like sf2 then you have NO business playing any sf game including third strike.
The truth is you all started on 3d strike while the rest of the hardcore scene left the last few years, we're back now and you trying to tell us about the community. We were playing god damn sf2 with half the world at the arcades in the 90s when most of you were probably still in diapers. Don't talk to us about 3d strike and the fighting game scene.

What's up with the 3rd Strike beef? You have to give respect to most Street Fighter games, excluding the early 3D experimentation.
The fans of 3rd Strike, SFA3, and SF2 have all contributed in the making of SF4. They have refined SF4 from the pros and cons from each game.
Parries turn to focus attacks. Relying on ridiculous infinites have been removed. The simplistic fundamentals derived from SF2.
Capcom is trying to give everyone what they want. The complainers are all here, the rest are probably having fun playing they're slice of Street Fighter goodness, wether it be parrying, doing infinites, or looking at the damage from a Tiger Uppercut.

well I guess I am a bit biased because 3s was my first competitive street fighter game and I started playing in 2006. There was a scene for the game at my local arcade and there was a good amount of people who played.
No street fighter game is perfect but hell this is getting out of hand. You people are out of control I think all street fighter games are fun and good fighting games.
Plus all 2d fighting games can be turtle fest with the exception of guilty gear which has a penalty for it and MvC2.

Why did they add Adon...who the hell uses that guy? He's as rare to use as Birdie. I've never seen anyone use him and get far in tournaments.
Guy and Cody, that's good, It's going to be easy to see 20+ hit combos with Guy if they still give him the Zero Series Chains, now with the add in of focus cancels, that's just going to add more hits. I hope they don't give him that stupid weak range grab from zero 3 that looks like a wannabe raging demon as his ultra, that would suck.
now just need rolento..., if they had haggar to add in, that would be interesting. His moves would be a direct rip off of Zangief, but I just want to see him in a street fighter game. Just upgrade the 3D art and move set he had from Capcom All-Stars, which ended up getting canceled.

It is "legendary" for having nearly killed the series. SFIV has been out for much less time, and has already heavily outsold III. What you are forgetting to realize is when these game came out and what was happening at the time.
I wont deny the fact that SF2 was a legendary game. It was a fresh new take on the fighting genre and there was nothing else like it at the time. But you have to remember when it came out arcades were at the pinnacle of their popularity. You could find a SFII machine literally everywhere...laundry mats, Liquor Stores, 7-11, etc. There is a lot of exposure, so naturally, more exposure = more players.
Flash forward 20 years later.
SF4 comes out. The arcade scene has diminished a significant amount. The technology for consoles have reached/exceeded the technology in arcade. Consoles are now the new arcade machines. SF4 is released on 4 platforms. Xbox360, PS3, PCs and arcades. SF4 is heavily promoted, commercials, web, magazines etc. There is now online play. There is a lot of exposure, so naturally, more exposures = more players.
Now take a look at 3s. 3s was released in a dying arcade scene. Released on 2 platforms. The Dreamcast (<3) which sadly was a failing system and the PS2. There werent really much promotion for it. And there was no online play. With that considered...3s has been in every major (and local) fighting tournament event such as SBO and EVO since its release till now.
And 3s has produced one of the most greatest gaming moments in history...Daigo fully parrying Justin Wong's super. So to say 3s destroyed the SF franchise is absurd. Futhermore:

The argument about high play 3s not being deep is pretty dumb as well. 3s uses all its game mechanics (parries, UOH, EX) as well as traditional SF tactics. 3s incorporates tick throws, pokes, footsies, baits, block strings, etc. And believe me there can be crazy stuff in 3s...I.E. daigo vs justin...the craziest sf moment ever.
And SF4 is not a revival of SF2, its a revival of SF. SF4 borrows from other street fighter games. FAs are parries/alpha counters, EX from the SF3 series, supers from ST.

Adon was great in Aplha a real shoto killer he will play like rufus as far as his moves go but will his Jaguar tooth be a charg base attacked like vega flying Barceleona or his other arial moves?

all of u sf2 n 3s fans need to stfu n understand that 3s n sf4 both r pretty messed up people dont even fight no more all u see is the same stuff over n over for example in 3rd strike ull get yang n yun in every tournament n in sf4 all u see is ryu sagat balrog s n kens n wen u fight them they all do da same thing 90% of the people do its pretty lame wat ever happend to just playing da game for fun i think sf has lost alot of its fun factor hopefully ssf4 gets all characters balanced so we can all have a balance fight n let the best man win :P

Considering the events of the storyline. for Guile it would have made much more sense to add Charlie since he's not dead (according to the blog post with all of their connections to one another anyway). Since it would've tied his and Abel's story together.
If they are settling for 8. One character to go for those of you who can't count.
Since we have: T.Hawk, Dee Jay, Juri, Hakan, Adon, Cody, Guy.
One to go. However if it is 3 to go, making it 10. then I'm guessing from SF3,Ibuki and Makoto are probably next. Even if they are going to be obscenely young.

3s did not kill the genre! it was the last bold attempt to revive the dying genre that is fighters! but it was inevitable! just like final fantasy series is almost dead or at least not as popular now..

I dunno what that means, in regards to Jordan Brand, pimping out their kicks has gone horribly wrong. Especially the Jordan #1 lately.
Guy will stick with OG Red White Black Highs.
Maybe even Court Forces since Japan likes those a lot.
But would be more gangster than all of that would be Nike Cortez on Guy. Infinitely more pimp than played out, whored out Dunks.

whatever unfinished % Cody still isn't even the worst American character in the game.
That would be Rufus. He will never be in another SF game after the 4 series again. Nobody will ask for him in the next game like they do obscure only in comic book characters like Oro and R.Mika now.

3rd strike's the best street fighter ever but give this new cr@p a chance, focus attacks are almost like parrying, I liked parrying but I'm kind of glad it's gone, it made to many moves worthless. I hope this new game will be better than 3rd strike, if they add enough characters and moves while making it more fair, it definitely will be. 3rd strike is the greatest SF but .........let it go........let it go............maybe someday they'll remake it but for now........let it go...........10 years of that game....and now it's time to just....let it go into the light. .................let it go.

i was born in 87 ... and i have played sf2 in the arcades in the 90's .... played all the alpha and cvs series ..... but i can't say that i am a good player ... because i got my fighting game experience from the king of fighter series ... specifically from kof 97.. lemme tell u . ... if u think about it really hard ... the only game where pro's can really compete and have fair fights is 3rd strike .. yall cant judge the game just because u havnt felt that 3rd strike is perfection unlike people who have ..
honestly .. 3rd strike made me look at other games in a deeper way and elimenate the idea that some of the previous games were the best .
i mean common .... i still get impressed by third strike every once in a while when i pass by the arcades ..
i go like " damn look at this shi** ! its perfection " !

I don't really understand why people who prefer one game over another feel the need to bash another person's preffered game. I personally like SF4 the best, but I think other iterations of the series have a lot of merit. Third Strike included. I do sincerely hope that some third strike characters are included because I, personally, would be able to enjoy them more if they had SF4 mechanics. Plus I think its pretty foolish to leave cood characters by the way-side just because of the game they originated from. Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley (as the rumor goes) would all make excellent additions to the cast and I look forward to playing all three of them.

Actually, the deepest fighting game is Budokan. Those who had played it knows what i am talking about. there i said it! :)
Seriously, i've played adon in the alphas. His style is unique. He's no sagat clone. Infact, he's closer to muay thai than sagat! He's cool. Guy's cool. Check out daigo's use of him. Cody's ok, but the jail outfit is a bit out. There's always the alt i guess...

cody guy and adon wicked,didnt play sf 3's francise .mid tier characters i would say.just hope taunts sound and look good.lol.also hope they add some new taunts to old characters.and some more near impossible combo challenges and trophies that only the best can get.and please dont change to much so it plays different.love sf4s game play.
