GamesIndustry.biz has a two part interview with Capcom V.P. Christian Svensson discussing a lot of the ins and outs of the business side of things. Part 1 | Part 2 • Marvel vs. Capcom 2 drastically over-performed Capcom's expectations for sales. They didn't expect it to exceed Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix's numbers — but it did.
• Capcom's target consumer audience is now increasingly focused outside of Japan.
• Christian relates that Capcom as a company is "fairly profitable, stable and doing rather well."
• The Resident Evil movie series is Sony Pictures' second most profitable franchise behind Spiderman.
Considering how well Marvel vs. Capcom 2's re-release performed, it should only increase the odds for a sequel and other future digital only fighting games from Capcom.
