I think that stage will be an "all-purpose" stage (not character-specific), kind of like the boat or the 'arena' with the crowd. Also, the streak from the (likely) focus attack looks like it's from a really tall character moving in a top-to-bottom motion. I would say it looks like Cammy's, but she's much shorter than that.

My guess is that FA is coming from Birdie, and he uses his chain for his FA.

I wonder if there is some significance to the fact that Chung Li is getting beat up?

And also, what is that statue in the background of someone holding up something. If you look right above Chung Li’s head you can see what I mean. It may just be something they added, or it could be something that gives us a DEFINATE clue to where they are.

Lastly it looks as if this may be a focus attack, and the focus attack is going in a downward swing motion…like someone is doing some sort of ax kick or…I don’t know something from the head down.

That’s all I got.

If it was Dee Jay they wouldn't have had any issues about showing him in the pic instead of cutting off the bit that shows the other character.

No, based on what you were saying about it being Cammy's FA (which you sound quite sure of). Why are they hiding the other player if it is Cammy? New costume perhaps, which they don't want to reveal yet? That's all. Nothing to do with changing the FA.

ah ha they have created much mystery! If I am being a super sleuth of detecting I could have this information but I am too busy mastering the New Combos For my main fighting Ken!!
Again this time I have been looking to The Past (SF4) instead of gazing into my new future (SSF4).
I am in strong hope that Ken Will be Just as Good as he is in our current SF4 so I May continue to be Effective and Efficient with my fighting!

I am excited to understand more of the new!!

Don't hold your breath.
Ibuki's only in 3 looking for Oro to defeat to pass her Ninja Final Exam after hearing he was participating. Also, she's like 16 in that game, if she was in 4 she'd be around 13. Unless Oro is somehow connected to 4(nothing of which points towards this) she wouldn't have any business at all in S.I.N/'s event.
We do have a western looking City, NY some claim, and Alex comes from there, so one towards him. It also looks a lot like Rolento's stage apparently, and someone on the staff mentioned how they'd like to add him, due to the uniqueness of how he moves or something. Two for Rolento.

tl:dr, No Ibuki, Maybe Alex, Likely Rolento.

Ibuki was in a fairly recent Udon comic fighting C. Viper, Yun and Yang were in Chun's SF4 intro looking identical to how they did in SF3 despite being teens themselves. Age and story relevance means **** all.

They show us a new stage but they hide the character who is beating Chun-Li, so it's obvious the new stage is linked to the new character.

It looks A LOT like the old Rolento stage, and far away we can see a statue who looks like Haggar (see also the billboard of Haggar in the bonus stage car crush), so i guess the new character is Rolento.

Maybe there will be more FF characters (like Cody or Guy)...

I blew the picture up to 600dpi and it looks like Geif is in the statue in the back. Cant tweak it enough to tell. Also is chun Li's legs toned down a bit? looks thinner then before. Also from the looks of it, seems like a show line going directly under chuns legs to behind her. Could just be a oil spill or rolentos zip line shadow. Just some thoughts on it.

That stage looks like Metro City with a statue of Mayor Mike Haggar. Mike was also in Saturday Night Slam Masters. I think that stage maybe for a final fight character.

i agree, theres still alot to do with sf4. I started learning akuma just for something new to hold me over till deejay comes. The only hard thing about it is that its hard to learn online. There aint much mind games when all they do is run away, hold down back and mash dps.

I highly doubt it will actually be big news. If it is actually big news it better be characters. They've gone over the net code(their will always be lag),new modes,some balance talk,and ultra tweaks. So if its not character news I honestly wont be impressed with that they say.

I hope it is character news as the ss dosent show the character.

Personally i think it will either be Alex or Cody. I hope they give us the whole roster as they have said the roster wont change and is already locked.

I hope they announce a SF3 character soon. I'm not a huge fan of SF3, but I do like the 3 rumored characters. Hopefully they're in.

I like Rolento, but wouldn't his presence mean the rumors were false?

And for some reason, Ibuki's presence in the UDON comics makes her seem like she's definitely in SSF4. Hope so.

And what if the announcement was that Shiozawa is pregnant? That would be hilarious. I'd also be pretty pissed, but at the same time think it was cleverly done.

This stage is clearly the construction stage from S3 series since Rolento's stage is not that high up in SA2. So this is necro/twelve's stage just place at a different time.

Looks like a NYC stage(actually it is obvious that it is, unless some other city has the Empire State building in it), looks like Ibuki's move. But it could Cody or Guy though too. Looks like were are gonna see the Alpha characters before the good 'ol SF3 stuff. But ugh I hate Adon...almost any other character would have been better. Bu not Rolento, pretty much every other Alpha character is better than him. It's clearly Rolento's stage, the goons in the back have his red hat and gear, confirming that it's very likely that it's Rolento. The Focus Attack looks like a normal he had that would adjust to his style of fighting.

I think there are already enough El Fuerte fans, and with Zangief/Abel being fan favorites, i dont see how another oil-obsessed Arab guy named Hakan will really garner much popularity. Not to mention adding T-Hawk is adding another, throw-friendly character...E.Honda has one of the best command throws in the game. How many more command-throw characters do we want?!

Rolento would be much better in popularity than a Hakan guy. They just need to tweak El fuerte a bit to bring him up to par with Ryu and others so that people will take him more seriously in tournaments. He's already a nightmare for Zangief players.

I totally disagree with the whole "keep charlie dead" idea. Why? Wasn't Rose supposed to be dead too? Why did they bother bringing her back? Isn't Gouken supposed to be dead too? He's almost just another Shoto, and if they make his tatsu have SRK frames/invicibilities, he'll be pretty much another shoto. Why can't Charlie bring the flashier different sonic/flashkick style to this game? Guile has always been sort of stuck with 2 specials. Charlie could be used to make that alot more interesting. in SFA series, Charlie was great because he didn't need to turtle. They could make Charlie use charge-partitioning too to switch things up a bit. Guile would be great defensively, Charlie would be his offensive counterpart. Guile's 2nd ultra can be that huge sonic hurricane. Charlie's ultra can be that barrage of attacks followed with a flash kick.

@ #189 it would only do justice for charlie to return or else they remove every shoto clone in the game aince Ryu is the only one worth anything. the Sonic boom and flash kick are the only moves they have in common, EVERY other move is different, im sure you don't use normals anyways though. And I'd be just as happy if they simply had Guile sit this one out. Perhaps he gets injured in the story just as he reaches Charlie's location and Charlie leaves him unconscious and goes to finish business with Bison and then S.I.N.
If they don't use him as a replacement, Its not hard to make characters different, who's the same from any of their previous incarnations? Give him the moonsault slash for a start. They know what that is.

#43, that's Ibuki's story in Third Strike. In the first two she was hired to screw around with the Illuminati; she's a ninja, she works for whoever pays her clan. It's not hard to imagine her being sent after SIN.

Besides, her Third Strike ending shows her going to university. I don't know many 16 year olds that do that. At the youngest she's 19, making her 16 for Super SF4; a year older than Sakura was in Alpha.

Also, since when has Capcom cared about canon? SF4 saw Bison and Gouken both magically come back from the dead, not to mention a terminally-ill-back-in-Alpha Gen.

@196. Yes at adding Charlie, and i agree saying no to it is also like saying no to the shoto clones. Guiles moves are simple, but his game is very complex and also unique. He deserves a clone to explore a different side of him. The charge partioning thing is a good idea, would totally totally crack open a whole new dimension in gameplay so he would be clearly distinct from guile. His offense would be insane though, but looking at what they're giving Juri, and how people generally want more offensive characters, i think it would be totally justifiable at this point. Just give him lower health. If you HAVE to, lol.

charlie a clone? man you must be a casual player at sf there are no clones in sf when you reach a certain level of experience you'll come to understand the deep difference in game play between ken and ryu charlie and guile and eventually come to appreciate the different characters with similar looking moves.

I main guile I try my best he is hard to master though 99% of the time I never play any other character yet I truly know the difference between meeting a ryu player and a ken or sagat player (people even play the same character differently).

It's probably not the Necro & Twelves stage because that game is set in the future from ssf4 and thier still constructing the building in S3. (Although time doesn't mean to much in strret fighter anyway). Also I don't think the Illuminati story arc will be any part of ssf4 which Necro and Twelve are a major part of. Apart from that the background skyscraper is significantly different in both versions. Finally although I like Twelve I doubt he would make the list of the most popular characters Capcom would consider adding.

Oh and Rolento is awsome indeed.

its pretty clear that its a final fight char stage... with the lookalike hagger statue... and it having the construction site in the bkground (rolento stage in A2) it being in NY my guess would be its guy's stage... which leads me to think the person FA'ing chun is guy... but that all seems a bit bate... so my guess is they might announce another char and just have people wondering about the stage and guy

but for me every char is welcome... never picked up rolento in the A series but really enjoyed using him on cvs2

never liked guy but im sure his sf4 life will be enjoyable to play

my guess is the added chars have to be something new to the table

juri - is the new easier viper
hakan - is probably the alex sort of like abel tho?
cody - plays diff
guy - plays diff
adon - plays diff

rolento - would play diff

deejay - is the new guile (offensive)
thawk - is the next pangief

hagger - would be nice but a bit too similar to gief
charlie - would be a bit of a waste for those that arent interested in him and i guess im one of them guile is fine for me to rinse now and then
alex - got abel already and now hakan dont think he's needed

lol i cant remember the rumoured 3s chars ?????
makoto - plays diff

Spinning back knuckle, forward and back sobats, knee bazooka, jumping fierce punch, stepping forward fierce kick, very dominant crouching mid kick (I admit guile had a better one in super turbo), close mid punch is identical, jabs essentially the same, jumping heavy kick is SF4 Guile's jumping Heavy kick, both jumping light attacks are very similar. Air back breaker grab. Suplex grab. Crouching mid punch too. Crouching and standing close fierce punch are the same. The biggest differences are crouching heavy kick and jumping mid punch. Granted moves worked differently, but that may have a little bit to do with a different engine.

Whew I'm still laughing so forgive me if there are any spelling errors I'll probably still be laughing tomorrow.

The statue is of Haggar. Its Metro City just like the break the car stage is Metro City. Final Fight characters are definetly going to be announced. My money is on Cody, Guy and Rolento, although Maki was always my favorite FF character.

I am excited because i know on the other side is a Final Fight Character ...... I know Juri's Focus Attack is pretty wide .... but they've already shown Juri ... so there's no need to hide the character.

My top guess is Rolento because of the stage of a construction site is similar to one of his levels in Zero/Alpha and I think you fight the rolento boss in a silmilar level in Final Fight.
Plus the focus attack plash effect is so tall I would reckon it's Rolento's stick/staff.

Maybe Guy could make a kick that high for the focus attack though ... but if Guy was gonna have a stage it would probably be on the ground.

But Rolento was a very requested character for the first street Fighter 4 so it all adds up

@ 229 hmm... I bit much to read but now that you mention it, the forward HP and crouching MP, and even the suplex are the same. otherwise though, yeah, lots of characters have light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks. In that case Cammy's medium kick(with your logic) and suplex are too similar, therefore she is also a useless clone. I admire your work none the less. It would appear that Charlie and Guile are almost as similar to eachother as Ryu is to Ken, Akuma, Sakura, Dan, Sean, and Gouken. Almost. We don't need Dee Jay either. He plays more like guile than Charlie does. As a matter of fact, since Ryu is the generic model in which every other character when started is based off, every other character is a clone. Make Super Ryu Fighter 4 be the sequel to the original Ryu and Ken fighter 4. Because no one needs clones. I hope you're not thinking about getting started with partialities now are you?

Ya, I'm convinced that this is a Final Fight stage. At first I thought it would be a New York stage (leading me to think that Alex would be added) because of the building that bears a resemblance to the Empire State building in the background, but then I noticed the "worker" holding something above his head in the background (my brother and I loled because he said it was the "Bear-holding-a-Shark" from Homestar Runner). I thought it was a construction worker, but then I noticed that the thing he was holding appears to have letter on it. Then I noticed that he appears to have a strap across his chest: he's likely Mike Haggar holding a sign that says "Metro City" or something (I can just barely make out the shape of the letters, and it appears that they do in fact say "Metro City" from what I can see). This would be the Industrial zone because of the setting, and the new character announced would be Rolento.

Sorry to beat this home too much: I know TONS of people have already posted the exact same thing, but I just wanted to say it again.

The fact Rolento may be in this game is fu*king disappointing. I mean, everything about his I dont like. Maybe if they change his animation and stance to some thing less awkward and creepy. He's not so bad, he just looked like a weird hunchback to me and wasn't fun to play.

Sodom, Guy, Rose, and Cody were always my favorites.

dammit man. this is killing me. i hope we get the whole rouster instead of just 1 person. especially if its rolento. nothing against him, but i wouldnt call that big news for 1 person that have already been in previous sf games. please tell me karin is in. she still got a score to settle with sakura. dont let her miss out on this opportunity to get her back fair and square. sakura needs her rival back. ryu already have too many people beefin with him on the rival fight already, so why not have karin. let ryu rest a bit. i think she would look cool to see in the sf4 world. if they can bring dudley and rolento (in question) back, karin should be in too 100%.

you hate everything about him? He has a feint attack, a repeatable (similar to fei longs) can stand on his nightstick, and his super art is stringing a guy up, or rolling back throwing explosives....if you hate all that, then I am just speechless.

Cody's SFA3 prison break attempt was a failure. Cody complaining he's too sore to compete due to the prisoners & guards taking turns shanking him for his lunch money. Codyetta can't even Alpha guard break off inmates from eating his sweet corn bread. Its up to more talented Rolento & the red nike wearing Bushindu Ninja Guy to represent Metro City in SSF4 now.
