That Rufus reminds me of Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas.

hu... The new art direction is trully hideous.
Wow, the nose of el fuerte, the right leg of Rufus...very very cheap.
Where are the great artists of the studio ? where are Akiman, Nishimura, Dai chan etc... ???
And by the way,I discovered your site recently, you've done a great work, thanks a lot !

Rufus moves are so cool, but i just can't bring myself to play with him. He looks so nasty to me LOL.

Not a fan of the new art work, seems forced in a way. I like the style of SF4 art, gave the characters more movement with the splatter effect. Anyway i hope rose's art is super sexy!

replace these art work with the current vanilla sfiv art instead because the new art is just horrible

New artwork for the joke characters! Alright! Although Rufus is maybe too effective for his own good. Similar to Bob from Tekken 6 in their speed and damage output. And yes, Bob precedes Rufus because Tekken 6 came out in 2007, with SFIV following one year later. I know the Street Fighter fanboys dispute this, as they never bother to conduct research whilst deeply engaged in their marathon dork orgies.

I hope these new artworks AREN'T for the new character select screen portaits .... because I think most of the old ones were better ....

I'm very much liking the direction SSF4 is taking so far, but damn...don't they have anyone at the studio who knows how to draw anymore?
It'd be a shame to mar this series with a reputation for producing incredible character artwork with these lifeless, heavily filtered embarrassments.
Ono mentioned that they were going for sketchy-penciled look for this iteration of the game...so why is a computer even necessary to produce this artwork? Why not just pick up a pencil??

Easily the best of the new art so far.

Are you serious? People are really complaining about the artwork? El Fuerte's nose? Grow the hell up please..
It was already discussed that SSF4 was going for more of a canvas sketch artistic style ages ago. You all should have gotten used to it by now.

I love the new art, especially for Dan.
The SSFIV art overall is a lot better, Ryu's super art is leaps and bounds better than his piggy looking vanilla sfiv art.
Also, they are keeping the original SFIV select screen portraits. These are the new artwork to replace stuff that is in the Event Hubs background.

the old ones are better but those are decent as well. Love the joke characters, they're the most fun! (especially fuerte)

Rufus looks like he's kicking a soccedr ball, El Fuerte is running to get it, and Dan just scored a goal.

this is absolute crap artwork. Where's all the great artist that worked on sfiii and zero serie? The new artwork is just cheap. I'm disappointed.. it's like going back to the "fighting street" era concept art.... hey wait... did I mention "fighting street"? they probably have better artwork than these new ones. Shame
Posted by I agree bad art on November 20, 2009 at 2:58 p.m. #21
I HATE the new concept art so much and who ever drew them needs to be fired and dont bother using it as the new background on here because the old one is better. I cant even look at how ugly it it just take it down.

complaining about the art work is stupid don't they realize that they are done using the character model of the game with some texture and coloring added to it.

I'm pretty sure most of the the people complaining have not read this...
