G4TV.com messes with SSF4 while Seth narrates
While there's been a ton of Super Street Fighter 4 gameplay videos uploaded recently, G4TV.com has another one, but it's narrated by Capcom's own Seth Killian.
This covers a lot of ground you've heard before, but a few new minor character notes pop up here and there.
And if you're not completely burned out on these three characters, you can find two new gameplay videos here.

Eventhub, can you please stop adding these things? we all know how to use Dee Jay, Juri and T.Hawk already, thanks to the multiple times you have show us these things
as a matter of fact, I'm not using these characters when I buy SSFIV.Instead anyone who uses them, i'll bust you up pretty good online

@Him
Yeah, coverage of these three characters will be toned down — unless something major comes up worth noting. But I think the saturation point for covering T. Hawk, Juri and Dee Jay has been hit.

I know im just some random joker that comes on this site, and my words dont really matter much, but i want to say...
thank you very much.
Im so tired of seeing and hearing gameplay about the same 3 characters and the net code to the point that im crying.
I know we are all hardcore street fighter, and I know we are all excited about SSF4, but its getting freaking rediculous.
So if i never had to see another gameplay video, or hear about the netcode again untill they release some new character/music/stage information, i would be 100% ok.
Only person gaining anything from this is the people actualyly getting to play the freaking game, and seth....and no offence to seth, but im tired of seeing him so much as well...
so if i never had to see him again untill he released some new charcter/stage/music info, again, I would be 100% ok with that.

Around 6:03, sounds like Seth says "Trying to land ONE OF HIS.... *sheepish laugh* ULTRAS."
Not really sure if that meant he accidentally revealed each character to have 2 Ultras like the rumor said, or if that's really what he said, but it sounded like it.

I'd like to see any new footage of SSF4 being played by someone who actually knows what he's doing. I'm tired of all these "hands-on" previews that aren't showing anyone's real potential in a match.

You guys are crazy if you think that there is nothing new here. Ok I will admit that you might not be crazy because I was just like you guys before I noticed something in this video that blew a hole my mind. THERE IS NEW INFORATION IN THIS VIDEO THAT NEEDS TOBE TALKEDABOUT!!!
I will just get to the point. Dee Jay's EX Dread Kicks (charge back then forward plus kick) crumbles. Yes that is right, once the opponent gets hit with the Ex Dread Kicks they are open for a free combo or even an ultra!!!
Now let me ask you this, what other move has there ever been in SF4 that could make an opponent crumble? A focus attack of course. This means that capcom is adding focus attack crumbles to special moves. Dee Jay might not even been only character with one of these either.
Dang Dee Jay way to set the standards. Now I only wonder if the Dread Kicks will be armor breaking or not?
BTF the rest of the video sucked.

Just wait 1 week after TvC ships and Capcom reaps their sales, at that very second they will release all the ssf4 characters, ultras, stages, and modes. It's all marketing they don't want to sabotage thier own sales.

I thought it was kinda interesting, at the end of the third video we (for the very first time, i believe) get to see Juri's Match Win pose. It actually looks like they're still animating it, the last bit looks like it's missing a clip.

Its not eventhubs fault that theres no information about the new characters.
Id rather them giving us these extra "recycle "information, than none at all.
Posted by bob on November 18, 2009 at 2:19 a.m. #27
They don't give new info on purpose because they want to make sure you really learn about all these 3 characters before you get into the other ones.
Posted by chickenwings on November 18, 2009 at 2:42 a.m. #28
GREAT. there experimenting with that bs mash mgu. Ima just keep complaining and i hope the other old school deejay players do the same so they change that crap. I been wanting deejay since i first seen the character select screen, i dont want them to mess him up.
But other then that u heard deejays theme in the background, i hope they bring everyones theme back in ssf4. I would like character stages but that might be a burden on the crew since we might have 30 plus characters.

STFU. No ones asking you to look at their entry blogs. They're trying to be reliable in grabbing everything they can on SSF4. I mean I really feel like I can depend on them; that way I'll know exactly when the good sh1t comes out and not miss it out.

I don;t remember anybody putting a gun to my head forcing me to watch this video. I do remember the description saying no new info and capcom saying more info before christmas (which it is not yet). I notice some people in here haven't seen previous videos (#18 vision), and I notice different reporters would give reports on the same thing because I have actually read different newspapers and watched/listened to different news programs. I don't hate capcom for telling us the same thing especially after they have said that they can't say things they don't know for sure yet many many times before. If you follow the logical predictions that capcom has given us (ex: no new info till december) then life becomes a little easier. You don't have a heart attack and make outrageous comments and hate companies because another company covers the game.
Also since chickenwings is trying to be the new jerseyfame I'd like to take the moment to point out what we have several times before. Mash MGU = more effective MGU. Any person who uses Chun, Gen, or Honda will tell you that mashing to cancel on a single light attack is a very important skill to have and greatly improves your damage potential. You no longer have to do weak links to build up charge to MGU you could dash forward do one crouching light punch and then MGU That is a lot more damage then trying to link into it. Also lets please not argue against this by using past versions of DeeJay that would be very ignorant. That means you thing Ryu, Guile, and Dhalsim are exactly the same and have exactly the same combos they used to have.
Sincerly,
A capcom fan who uses logic before blowing his lid.

Posted by chickenwings on November 18, 2009 at 10:03 a.m. #50
@infant
if mgu moved forward then it would work like gen honda and chuns mash, BUT IT DOESNT. u will need to be point blank to cancel instead of useing the range of ur lite attack along with the special to bring u in range to get the combo. and useing it as a pressure move wont work either since it DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD like gens hondas and chun lis mash. But ur too retarded to see that. Having it a charge offers more control. Dashing up and doing low 2x jab low fierce mgu should be more then doable since u would have enough time to get the charge. The charge gives the move more flexiablity and gives his combos more variety.
And if u want to talk about past verisons of characters who really changed? low forward fire ball works still, guiles low strong flash still works. the dp motion is still the same, ochio is still the same. of course all the combos dont transfer over but most of the characters moves and specials stood intact and feel familiar. So please dont try to act like the whole cast plays tottaly different from there original verisons.

Mash Machine Gun Upper>Charge Machine Gun Upper.
When you learn to play with characters like Honda and Chun-Li, you will see that there are more opportunities. That you need to move up a bit for it for it to be effective is bull. With the exception of Honda's EX or HP Slaps, he don't move up, and it can still be effective. Also, from the little times I've seen MGU actually used in these vids, it seems to almost suck them in a bit, so if played right, and timed right, you can used it just as effective if not more effective than a charge.
P.S. Piano Keys is easy to do, unless one plays with a pad. Oh well I don't play pad, so I don't care. Not my problem.

is capcom serious with the new announcer? Or is this some kind of a joke? Does anyone know? lol that is probably one of the most dreadful announcers I've ever heard in a fighting game and they can't be serious with that. If this announcer makes it into the final version I ain't buying this rehashed crap and I agree sfiv is boring and slow and I'm not wasting my money on a boring game and I disagree sfiv shouldn't be a tournament based game since high level play is just fireball spamming until the time runs out and you barley see any combos performed. I see causal matches and noobs play better than those so called high level players. Get tekken 6 or Blazblue at least they got some exciting matches unlike sfiv.

What is the point of playing a fighting game like that? Look at tekken 6, bb and kof xii hardly anybody ever turtle in those games and thats what makes the game so fun. Yes I'm not going to buy the next one because of the stupid announcer and I'm already annoyed by the slow game speed and turtle play style and this new announcer will make it worst than it already is. I see many people upset with repeatable information!
I think I can Help to Explain this for everybody.
You see that EventHubs site is a website that gathers news from many sources to keep us upto date with many things that are happening in the world of SF.
However Capcom is to be currently going to be publications and showing off new game.
This is because for each of these publications, maybe readers of these publications read Only that publication, so otherwise they may not have become aware of SSF4!
Mr EventHub is relaying the news and has been nice to define that what is being offered has no new content.
I am understandable that everyone is wanting new information, but first Capcom must be sure to that all current information is spread to the many ears and eyes of readers in the entire world.
As Is Said: Knowledge is Power So We Must Be Very Powerful!!
Thank You EventHub. Until i Find this Site my SF news Was not Very current!

well for the people hating on the mash button input for his machine punch, I really think it wouldnt be that bad for comboing into ultra.
They said that the EX version will juggle opponents so then you can jump + attack in while mashing the 2 punches, land and perform the machine gun punch while charging back in the air and when you juggle the guy perform the ultra.
It would be somewhat like bison's ultra setup only way more useful and easy to perform.

Jesus christ. Mgu doesnt move FORWARD. IT WONT WORK LIKE HANDS. are u people retarded? And as for ex mgu juggleing ultra, u could do it with a charge. Balrogs ultra setup works on the same principle.
If the mgu mash verison moved forward like hondas hands then it wouldnt be a problem, BUT IT DOESNT. Watch the dam video, it doesnt work the same. The move works exactly like it did in turbo.

Mash command make chickenwings, so......ANGRY!!!! The hilarious thing about his arguments are that he bases them on such flimsy premises like "It'll interrupt Deejay's FLOW!" "I can't get one extra jab!!" Wow great argument there kiddo.
Clearly being able to FADC moves into MGU will do far more damage than one more precious jab. AMIRITE?? I think the anger just comes from the fact he is too much of a scrub to FADC anything, can't piano key and mainly is a bad player.
Oh and the best one is "IT DOESNT MOVE FORWARD!! RAARRGH"
That's REALLY funny. So let me get this straight. Jump in charging down, jab x2 into MGU works, but jumping in one jab and mashing into MGU suddenly DOESN'T work?? Did the range change somewhere in there? Sweet Jesus kid, learn to play.
"The charge gives the move more flexiablity and gives his combos more variety."
What the hell is he smoking. I want some!!

Posted by Strider-RagnaroK on November 18, 2009 at 6:32 p.m. #88
Im with the majority about no new news specially since im looking forward for the additional characters but you most understand all of those interviews are for different sources for magazines for sites and game shows ect...
he is not gonna have different news for each one of them so he is obligated to repeat himself over and over till he is allow to shed more light of the project when new news arrive then the same will happen again he will have to repeat the news over and over but thank to eventhub for everything.

Maybe if the Machine Gun is a mash it'll see more gameplay, since the EX version is the only version to block fireballs according to Seth there.
And it isn't a move where it's going to just keep going and going the more you mash the button, the mash initiates the command, the move happens, and then it's done. At least I don't think it's going to be continuous.
Either way. DeeJay is insane.

All Capcom had to do was tweak Third Strike just a teeny, weeny bit. It's ten years old and still way better that Street Fighter 4. I don't remember anyone spamming jabs or fireballs playing Third Strike.

No one would ever spam fireballs in 3S your just giving your opponent easy parries and punishes that way.

@chickenwings
the fact that mgu doesnt move forward is NOTHING new.. mgu NEVER EVER moved Deejay forward.. so what's the deal? That is a 'problem' with the move and not with the execution.. and btw it seems like it sucks in a bit or to be precise, the hitbox is bigger than deejays arm length.. oh and btw crossup mk, cr. jab, cr.jab -> EX MGU is still possible.. or do you already forgot how fast jabs are in this game? you can easily cr. jab(+buffering another jab) into cr. jab(buffering the 4th jab) and then press jab and strong or fierce and strong or whatever and you get your mgu after 2 jabs.. guess it does far more dmg with only 1 jab but there isnt so much hitconfirm on that.. :/ we'll have to see

if it moved forward u would be able to cancel out of low short(that normal has good range) and use it as a pressure tool like hondas low jab hands. if it moved forward it would be fine but it doesnt and thats why it sucks as a mash move.
@freekill
It never moved forward and it was never activated by mashing punchs either.
All of u people saying its fine never played deejay so u really dont know crap about the character anyway. let them change ryus dp to a charge move and see how u react.

i would love DPs to be charge moves .. i mean i dont use shotos and i hate rdm DP spammers ^^
And as far as i know only Hondas EX hands move him forward..
But i still dont get your point pls help me out.. you mean you cant pressure your opponent because you dont get 2 jabs but only 1 ? i mean with 2 jabs you're even farther away and MGU wouldnt hit either, with only 1 jab you can be sure that MGU will hit the opponent (blocked or not) because you're nearer to the opponent?
no offense, just trying to get our point

Really its more of an unnecessary change. Not every one likes mash moves and some don't like charge moves. Both types can be screwed up and effected by lag. No matter how many bonus properties MGU gets or frame/damage improvements t's still odd due to no one ever actually hoping it would be changed to a mash. I've never heard a Dee-Jay player say "if only i didn't have to charge MGU than i'd be willing to use it".
The change to mash could be great or it could greatly fail, the reason all the argument has started is because no seasoned Dee-Jay player from Turbo, HDR, or even Alpha 3 Max ever had a propblem using it when they wanted to.
Maybe we will get some miracle announcement where you can chose how its done or that both commands will work, to make everyone happy.

Chicken Wings is just angry he can't piano keys because his scrubby ass plays pad. They sell controllers with Turbo buttons you know ;)

"Having it a charge offers more control. Dashing up and doing low 2x jab low fierce mgu should be more then doable since u would have enough time to get the charge. The charge gives the move more flexiablity and gives his combos more variety."
As opposed to dash forward one jab MGU which would be very easy with a mash input. more hits = more scaling which is one thing I already hear enough complaints about. Quick and effective is how it works now.
"And if u want to talk about past verisons of characters who really changed?"
I'll guess for now that you skipped over the spot where I said Dhalsim for one. If you can to constant drill to apply pressure and threaten a throw in SF4 you tell me I'd like to know. If you air teleport to cross up do a quick combo and super in Super Turbo I'd like to know. If you always get a clean hit with flash kick and can always threaten with it when someone jumps in SF4 I'd like to know. A lot more things combo now and certain characters (especially dhalsim losing some of his offense/throw game) have changed. Anti Airs and throw pressure have changed significantly enough to mention. See I didn't even mention new moves. EX moves, super cancels and ultras (yes some characters had super canceling in other games but I was pretty happy the first time I saw how goofy Bison looks out of a kneepress). I just mentioned speed, hitboxes, and the 3S throw system.
"low forward fire ball works still, guiles low strong flash still works. the dp motion is still the same, ochio is still the same."
Yes 2 hit combos have stayed the same and many of the original motions have stayed the same (except tiger knee).
"of course all the combos don't transfer over but most of the characters moves and specials stood intact and feel familiar."
So you acknowledge if has a familiar feel but you have to play and think about things differently? Wouldn't that be a good additude for new ideas? The fact is I and most people never said there would be multiple MGUs in one combo. Most people haven't said you could do some long poke to MGU so why would moving forward be helpful if you now do one jab into MGU instead of 2? Scaling is a big change that knocks the power right out of DeeJay's combos. If you can do some of his old combos with less light attacks then we could see a very effective DeeJay in SF4. It feels strange arguing this when none of us have had the chance to see if the range is any better or worse. So let's give it a chance to show if it is better or worse as a mash in a different game.
cont. (yeah I know how long can he go on?)

Shorthand version: I calmly show quotes and point out things that were not thought out enough. I also talk about how scaling, different mechanics (like throws, EXs, ect), and hitbox changes can vastly alter a character. Then I notice that nobody has the played the game or has the frame data and feel akward that we are all know it alls at each others throats. Maybe if I speant more time making walls of text for Jerseyfame I wouldn't get the urge to do this now.
Insert "IT DOESN'T MOVE FORWARD YOU RETARDS WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM HAVE YOU PLAYED SF BEFORE. TAKE ME SERIOUSLY BECAUSE I CALL YOU A RETARD". Right below this post.
