Wow Ken sounds really gay in his english dub.

Posted by HolyG on November 4, 2009 at 1:29 a.m. #2

Wow... so what exactly is the point of that? I thought of a great way to beat it, it's called block.

Posted by baz on November 4, 2009 at 1:36 a.m. #3

Posted by Keabard on November 4, 2009 at 1:36 a.m. #4

Once he catches you, you can't get out :P

Posted by chickenwings on November 4, 2009 at 2:30 a.m. #5

lol thats great. Capcom should take note of these kinds of bugs, hopefully they can catch stuff like this in ssf4.

Posted by WG on November 4, 2009 at 3:52 a.m. #6

wow pretty cool, but i wana see what happens when akuma or dhalsim teleports.

@ #6, you can see it in the video....

Posted by sanwa man on November 4, 2009 at 4:37 a.m. #8

Bit off topic,

Are you alowed to use shortcut buttons? In tournaments?
Or even just generaly? Is It seen as cheating?

eg, you have 8 buttons on arcade stick, user the extra ones for like "focus attack" and the other for "3xP" or even "grab"???

Posted by @#8 on November 4, 2009 at 4:56 a.m. #9

Yes, it is allowed. If it wasnt, Capcom would of not let them add those buttons I guess. I use them for ultras and that is it.

Posted by wow on November 4, 2009 at 4:59 a.m. #10

of course, sanwa man.

Posted by YellowViolent on November 4, 2009 at 5:26 a.m. #11

I main Cammy and air threw a Ken out of his ultra last night. It was right after his ultra start up animation too. lolll

Posted by no on November 4, 2009 at 5:30 a.m. #12

You can tuse shortcuts in tournaments acctually, you have to set the 3xp and 3xk buttons to no function or you are disqualified.

Posted by seiyaken on November 4, 2009 at 6:33 a.m. #13

english voice...

@#9

"Yes, it is allowed. If it wasnt, Capcom would of not let them add those buttons I guess. I use them for ultras and that is it."

Rubbish theory, madcatz sticks also have turbo buttons, which aren't allowed on tournaments. But yeah, have never heard of any tourney banning them.

@#8

Why would you want to do that? The less buttons your hand has to touch the better.

Posted by efyocouch on November 4, 2009 at 7:39 a.m. #15

the addendum made me lol

Posted by Shortcuts on November 4, 2009 at 8 a.m. #16

are allowed. Turbo and macros however are not.

This would've been awesome if it was unblockable.

Posted by wurt on November 4, 2009 at 8:18 a.m. #17

So basically this is just showing that once his Ultra lands... it lands. Neat but totally pointless glitch other than maybe to waste your opponent's ultra meter.

Posted by gte on November 4, 2009 at 8:19 a.m. #18

What if you block after you get knocked back by the fireball?

Posted by gte on November 4, 2009 at 8:20 a.m. #19

Oops nevermind, the first thing Ryu does is walk back (block) and it still landed.

Posted by Button Mapping... on November 4, 2009 at 8:24 a.m. #20

is allowed for ultras/supers only. cannot use them for "grabs" or focus attacks.

Posted by IrPanda on November 4, 2009 at 8:36 a.m. #21

@20
Are you sure about that doesn't seem logical to me, imo setting those buttons doesn't really help you anyways. And i'm sure different tournaments have different rules if that is the case.

Posted by Mr.Doctor on November 4, 2009 at 8:52 a.m. #22

hmm...weird

Posted by Anon on November 4, 2009 at 9:05 a.m. #23

This the way Fei Long's Ultra needs to behave - after the first connect the rest should connect, none of that whiffing bs! Hope they fix it in SSF4

Posted by VegaFabioLaCerda on November 4, 2009 at 9:13 a.m. #24

taken from NorCal Regionals website

http://www.norcalregionals.com/rules/

"Game breaking glitches are banned. Programmable controls are banned. Button macros (e.g. 1 button to perform 3 punches at once) are allowed."

Posted by danjitsu on November 4, 2009 at 9:17 a.m. #25

Wow thats insane!

Posted by VegaFabioLaCerda on November 4, 2009 at 9:22 a.m. #26

and from EVO website

http://evo2k.com/?page_id=378

"Can we use d-pad controllers?
Yes.

Are wireless controllers/arcade sticks allowed?
No.

Is button mapping allowed?
Yes.

Is Rapid Fire/Turbo allowed?
No.

Are converters allowed?

Yes.

Is there a XBOX360 to PS3 converter?
There is one that I can think of but it’s nothing worth mentioning.

Are custom arcade stick allowed?

Yes

I’m bring my arcade stick. Any suggestions?
Yup. Most people including ourselves bring our stick(s) in our carry on bag to prevent damage. Sometimes peoples carry on is their arcade stick. But if you want to pack it in your luggage make sure it’s well padded and well secured. You know how airlines can be."

Posted by Froze on November 4, 2009 at 10:33 a.m. #27

LOL that's funny

Posted by Soul Hoe on November 4, 2009 at 11:26 a.m. #28

Haha. Very neat and interesting, despite being near-impossible to set up practically.

Posted by Xurkey on November 4, 2009 at 12:12 p.m. #29

Wow, I've never listened to Ken's English dub before nor will I ever again.

Gross.

Posted by Button Mapping... on November 4, 2009 at 12:29 p.m. #30

the local tournies here only allow the 4th buttons to mapped for 3P/3K. people usually use those for ultras as opposed to pressing all 3 punch/kick buttons. never for focus attacks, or grabs. just like the NCR rules.

Posted by LabidO on November 4, 2009 at 12:43 p.m. #31

LOL, that's messed up

Posted by Marco on November 4, 2009 at 12:56 p.m. #32

They need to get rid of Cammy, Guile, and Balrog's japanese voices and stick to the english ones, especially Cammy. I like Ken's voice but mainly because it is Dante from Devil May Cry. BUT if they get the Alpha/CvS Guile japanese voice then that's a different story. Some other english voices are decent too like Rose, Seth, or Vega.

Posted by Corn on November 4, 2009 at 12:57 p.m. #33

There's no reason to put Japanese voices on for a character that isn't Japanese. It's annoying and it doesn't make sense.

Posted by TP4A on November 4, 2009 at 1:06 p.m. #34

Don't try to argue with the weeaboos lol

Posted by VegaFabioLaCerda on November 4, 2009 at 1:11 p.m. #35

personally i thinkeach character should have an option for that character to speak that country's language. at a very minimum have it in that accent. i mean come on.... how many people from India you know that can speak as non-indian as dhalsim?

Posted by just asking on November 4, 2009 at 1:48 p.m. #36

is there a 360 to wii converter?

Posted by classy on November 4, 2009 at 2:07 p.m. #37

looks like everything is finished with sf4, everyone found out every useful combo.. which isn't much at all in sf4.. now all we have are stupid glitches and useless things that will never happen

Posted by Woah on November 4, 2009 at 3:35 p.m. #38

And I thought Ken's ultra in Japanese was bad...

Posted by sanwa man on November 4, 2009 at 4:24 p.m. #39

Thanks for the reply guys.
Its just that I dont use light kick, so I changed it to grab.

(which means It only grabs when im "standing", but actually does the light kick when im "crouching")

And I just find I easy to use shortcut buttons (button mapping) for Foucus-A and 3xP.

But, even though Im in uk where theres no arcades, and I play at home, I still dont like cheating. (if button mapping IS seen as cheating that is..)

Posted by mossman on November 4, 2009 at 4:33 p.m. #40

Ken must definitely be higher in the tier rankings now!!!

Posted by @sanwa man on November 4, 2009 at 4:34 p.m. #41

you never use standing LK?
who do play as?

Posted by Valter on November 4, 2009 at 8:42 p.m. #42

Ken is truly broken.

Posted by Sanwa man on November 5, 2009 at 7:46 a.m. #43

@41
I play as ryu, sometimes rose.
(I can link in light kick in any combo, e.g.

Ryu, Crouching M-kick, light tatsu.
Rose, Crouching L-punch, light kick-Soul Spiral

Posted by LK on November 5, 2009 at 2:12 p.m. #44

is a heavy part of my arsenal (viper, rufus)...dont know what i'd do without it...haha. they're BnB combos require either standing LK or crouching LK.

Posted by onner on November 5, 2009 at 2:25 p.m. #45

what the hell does any of this have to do with the glitch? of course it's not usable, you can tell by the elaborate setup, why bother pointing out the obvious? it's a glitch for glitches' sake, or perhaps it will shed light on important glitches that affect game play.

christ, what a bunch of morons.

Posted by voices on November 7, 2009 at 12:37 p.m. #46

ok here comes a crazy instance where people may use japanese voices. They could actually play it in arcades first and just got used to it. They played any other fighting game and got used to it. They simply don't like some of the voice actors. People like some things that you don't like. The sooner that makes sense in your world the sooner you can enjoy social lives.

I won't do it ever again Mr. Dan! I promise!

Posted by Te1vanni on November 8, 2009 at 10:57 a.m. #48

PS: If you don't know japanese, I recommend keeping the Englash dubs on and playing through the campaign. The characters talk to each other during the final bout before Seth.
