Awesome adition. Few have played the actual 1st game. Those who consider themeselves hardcore street fighter fans should definitely buy it. Bad controls, Ryu only (Ken in 2 players) and extremely difficult special moves! Those "flaws" are its charm. A very-old school fighting game. That's what it is.

Wow, $8 dollars for a horrible game? No thank you.
Nostalgia is one thing but let's face it... the game is so bad. Who would even want to play it again?

rather ironic given Seth's answers in the CVS2 story on EH

why'd they release this on the wii. i would totally buy it if it was on a real console like the 360 bro.
just kidding.
once again the wii gets another past fighter.
i remember this being in the old arcade at the mall around the same time as sf champion edition, pit fighter, and the first mortal kombat. the controls were so bad i thought the game was broke.
does anyone know how to mod my 360 te stick to play on the wii and the 360.

Why would they waste money bringing that back. Who the hell voted that to return back to the scene? Little replay value, unless someone can hack it to be able to play the CPU-only characters

I have played SF1 back in the day and it was horrible. The commands were evil and one fireball took away almost your entire life bar.
It is funny to see Ryu and Ken wearing shoes. The only thing that is really funny is that Birdie is a white biker punk in this game but later Capcom made him into a black punk rocker and explained that the reason Birdie was white in SF1 was because he had the flu.....WTF CAPCOM??
Also, Balrog is somewhat in SF1 thanks to the character Mike. Mike and his USA counterpart, Joe, actually appear in the opening cutscene of SFII lol.
I will not be buying this btw.

you are the idiot my friend you can't correct someone with another wrong spelling. Its MUAY THAI I know because I fight MUAY THAI and Brazilian Jiujitsu so you learn english.

it's just a virtual console game running in the emulator that already exists, releasing this doesnt cost a tenth of what it costs to port a game like MvC2, where additions like online multiplayer etc is done. They only really need to spend time on quality control.
I do think it's a good diea to release these things, it's part of history.

The first game was complete ass imo but it still led up to world warrior and branched off into different titles so cant complain there. Also mj if you can land even use a dp in this game you are god. That is all.

I don't know why all of you are negative against it. I am going to buy it and I don't think it's a waste of money. It's just a relik from the past. It is obviously horrible compaired to today's standards but then again it was released in 1987...

Me and my friend played it and beat it on the psp (capcom collection 1 or 2) which already has horrible controls, and you know what? it was very very "funny", I was laughin my @ss off at the whole thing. Buy it for a laugh if anything.
Posted by baz on November 5, 2009 at 12:21 a.m. #23
so we're stuck on sagat and the shoryuken only comes out 1/10 times and the fireball and hurricane kick 1/5. Then out of nowhere I just started doing all these shoryukens in a row and I beat him and you see ryu walking out of an airplane.
Hillarious ;)
