New SSF2T HD Remix patch details
The patch release notes for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix were announced today. The details were posted on the Capcom-Unity blog.
The patch is supposed to be released in the next few weeks, here's the full scoop.
Please keep in mind, there are technical limitations to what a patch can fix, so we fixed as many as we could given these limitations. I know many users requested patching Akuma, but we didn't touch any balancing this time. This is mainly because I think the jury is still out on him. Sure, he's pretty powerful, but I don't think it's been 100% proven yet that he's unbalanced. I'm not saying that he's definitely balanced, but before we start tinkering with the balance, we want to make sure we're making the right move.
A big thanks to all you guys that were diligent in reporting the bugs that they encountered. Also, a big shot out goes to "The Furious One" who was a big help in compiling bugs and especially to "zerojay" who took his testing experience and actually created a bug data base to help organize the bugs.
Without further ado, here are issues that the patch fixes:
1. After a number of games, the HUD will be corrupt. Yellow lifebars will freeze, the round counter flags will all be on, and the names will show more than one name. (Both)
2. Frequent disconnects during VS transition screen. Often caused by selecting START color of character. (Both)
3. Title crashes if user has a large friends list and tries to access the friends list (PS3)
4. Rating being set to "0" and from then on, rating remains at "0". Once that patch goes live, we'll reset all leaderboards/scoreboards. (Both)
5. Vega sometimes causing desyncing, especially when using the fake wall dive. (Both).
6. Lobby list containing full rooms instead of only rooms that users can enter. (Both).
7. Zangief Super Motion not working on both sides and in both directions.
8. During the start of the match, there is slight slowdown. This has been minimized as much as possible. (PS3).
9. If connecting to a ranked match through the quick match function, it is best out of 3 rather than best out of 5. (Both)
10. Sending messages via XMB during a game causes a freeze. (PS3)
11. Players not added to "Players Met" list. (PS3)
12. Analog and D-pad can accept input at the same time. (Both)
13. Player stats not reporting correctly.

You know what the sad thing is? I could think of at least 3 more bugs that haven't been mentioned after I finished reading this list.

pretty dumb patch

For me HDR was something to hold me until sf4.
They could patch everything and the game still would be missing something. Lets face it, they should of gotten it rite the first time.
I am waiting for the championship patch for sf4. I would like to converse with the people I am playing instead of meeting some one with a head set some times. I thought that was the piont of on line gaming. I want to see online tournaments hosted by capcom so that people really earn the right to go to vegas. I think they have the foundation for something really big, but aren't opting to use it YET! The potential is there and we all saw this with hdr. They know how big sf4 is and are not building on it.

Sounds good to me. I can't think of anything else, except trophies, which I really couldn't care any less about.

Hopefully the stage music cutting out will be addressed as well.

What the f* ck?! Those f*cking f*ggots. They need to fix Akuma's unblockable demon setup. What the f*ck is wrong with them? Even f*cking Sirlin said that wasn't intentional and should be removed. WHAT THE F*CK.

Some of bugs I can remember, that haven't been fixed: Blanka's 'shock' effect remaining for the rest of the fight. Screen going totally black at the start of the fight with nothing but the health bars being visible for the entire fight. ****** pullers causing +1 Loss to both sides of the fight in a Scoreboard match. Characters only using the same victory quote over and over in online battles. There were others but I can't remember atm.
This game is total travesty when you think about it. They are lucky there is such a stupidly loyal fanbase to SF (myself included), a new franchise/game could never get away with all this bs

We still need trophies and other things fixed up. There were many other bugs that shud be fixed.

ive got the xbox360 ver. of hd remix and my biggest problems with this game is the lock on system (characters dont face their opponent as fast as they should) and they turn the wrong direction at times aswell when doing moves (especially grabs).
another problem that ive got is with the hit system. alot of times you can do moves and the punches and kicks will go right through your opponent without hurting them but you can clearly see that the foot or fist went through their body(this is seen offten when comming over the top of your man to start combos).
my last and final problem is with ryu's timing. it's way off when compared to other street fighters. ruy has always had a timing unrivled to none and now i cant even play with him because thats been completly taken away. play ruy on hyper fighting or the regular super street fighter 2 turbo or you can take it a step back if you will and play ruy on street fighter turbo and you'll see exactly what i mean. you cant counter with any of his moves because of his timeing or the lack there of. (ruy moves well only because its a fast game but his counter timing is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off and due to it bein missing in this one) please fix my favorite character

How about no? If we're paying money for a product, then we expect what we paid for. It's not about "why don't you go do it!?" it's more about "Screw this, I paid for something and it's not what was promised."
So if I go to a restaurant, ask for a steak well-done and get medium rare, is the cook in the right to say "Well, why don't you make it yourself!?" What the hell did I just pay for then?

akuma is not broken, I enjoy beating akuma players I rarely lose against akuma. Ken dragon punch, that is broken! and yes where are the trophies?
Posted by Gojeran on March 11, 2009 at 2:36 p.m. #17
Akuma is broken from mid-high lv play because he does have a totally unblockable raging demon setup that was not caught until the games release. It does make him broken- period. Yes, against scrubs, he takes a lot of dmg/stun and its an easy win but try it against somebody who actually knows how the play the game. If that Super meter is full its jump... air-fire ball... if air FB is blocked then super, if you choose not block the air FB well then you get hit with low short/forward into tatsu into srk... hmm broken much. Its win/win for the good akuma player and a total wash for the non akuma player. I haven't played HDR since SF4 came out due to the totally unstable game play and crashing freezing issues- after the patch drops I might try it again.

they shouldnt cancel best out of 5 in quick match. Thats all I do bacause it is actually possible to get into a match, otherwise i get game full everytime, not because i want a shorter match
Posted by fobi0 on March 16, 2009 at 2:30 a.m. #19
Lol, so that's why my friend insists on doing air fireball into Raging Demon on SF4.
It works on HDR. Haha.

Not overly impressed with this. Firstly the patch was 303mb in size (PS3), why? No trophies and no rumble support. I'm actually regretting buying this now as it feels like it's massively unfinished. Oh well back to SFIV I go then.
Posted by Matsubuya on March 17, 2009 at 2:49 a.m. #21
Akuma is my fav char and i havnt noticed any unblockable moves yet, if youre talking about his super, raging demon, then that is an unblockable move and always has been on every game that akuma has been in.
The best thing they fixed in the list is the players met bug, god that sh!t me that bug, nothing worse than having a good match with someone and not remembering their rediculously long and confusing psn name and then not being able to find their name in the players met list so you can talk abit of crap with them and rematch or whatever.
To the people that are having a sook about all the things they didnt do, at least they came out with a patch fixing SOME things, quit being such a bunch of ungrateful girls

if they reset the leaderboards, causing me to lose all of my records of matches and wins, which I have more 1,200 wins, and a winning ratio above 65%, I will be pissed. And probably won't go back to play the game as much. I think, instead they should add another option to show fixed rankings, while keeping the old rankings.
Posted by DR selfish on March 17, 2009 at 7:36 a.m. #23
so let me get this straight they should not reset the leaderboards because you have a win rate of 65% DR Jam? so i guess people like me who have played over 2,600 games and won alot more then half of those should still have a ranking of 0 because you will be "pissed". Look the leaderboards are broken you can play only 5 games for a week and be at the top of the weekly leaderboards for the ENTIRE WEEK for putting no effort whatsoever in. I have played double the amount of games you have and YOU are the one COMPLAINING about the leaderboard reset.

anyone confirm the music just doesn't randomly go away still? I kinda think this game is on par or even better than SFIV, so hopefully this patch made it more fun to play.

i wish had they made a penalty for those players that quit in the scoreboard matches when they feel that they are losing or having very low life while their enemy still has almost full life.
Posted by Salarian on March 19, 2009 at 10:44 a.m. #26
What about the Easy Difficulty level issue? Why is it still that random COM fighters end up extremely hard to hit or beat? They still haven't fixed this issue. There AI just boost to all new levels.
