Street Fighter 4 trick, Dash Active
While you may have heard about this before, IIIIIIIIII on the SRK boards pointed out a nifty trick in Street Fighter 4 that lets you quickly do a dash canceled Focus Attack and still go into an Ultra with some of the charge characters. Here's a video that breaks it down.
The basic concept is while holding back or forward, or using the diagonal positions, key in your Focus Attack. And then one tap of the joystick in the proper direction will make you dash.
For example: While holding down-back, key in your Focus Attack and then tap back again to dash out. That input would look like this.
- Easy and quick to perform. Tap back or forward once, even when starting from a crouching position and you'll dash.
- You get a short clip of Super Armor from the Focus Attack and whatever invincible frames the character's Dash offers.
- You can execute an Ultra or other charge moves after hopping backwards.

Yeah, the video pauses automatically so you can read the text and see what's going on.

this is pretty good but its better for a forward dash then ultra .. ive seen it done and Ive been able to pull it off quite a couple of times.. if i can video up ill see if i can show u guys... but its a really great tool for balrog especially for a fireball encounter... " u focus the fireball dashes forward the guy is tempted to throw another fireball u ultra close enough to hit him on the floor.." thats how it looks but its a little hard but a decent tool vs shotos

Is it anything like how to do dics fa dash into ultra I've tried variations like fa, charge back, f, b, ff dash, and ultra but never works

I bet a lot of people do this without realizing it. When I frist started to try ryu's dp fadc into ultra I noticed that if I held the last down forward I would only have to tap foward once to dash.

Im not so into the philosophy of how to use this, instead Id like to see the strict input...i couldnt even see his input.
are you saying if i charge down+forward that when i initate focus attack i only have to tap forward once?

Yes. Though, you can only tap in the direction you were holding PRIOR to activating the FA.
You can't charge down+back, FA, forward to dash forward.
It also works standing. So you can do back, mp+mk (hold), back.

I don't get what the deal is with this video. All he does is a insta focus attack dash cancel. How is this new or any different from doing "absorb fireball, instantly dash forward/backward"? Is there something I am missing!?

It's mostly the "You only have to tap the direction once" part. You can go from blocking to neutral to blocking and it still works, and it doesn't look like you've focused.

Heres how u can do forward dash ultra.
I can only do it while back+cruouch, cant do it while holding back standing.
Charge down+back -> hold FA (You gotta dash before or during white flash)-> then forward back forward but not too fast and it'll dash forward then 3 kicks/punch and it'll come out.
Practice the dashing part first and you'll see that it'll dash forward just by doing a normal super motion.
Works for super and ultra, dosnt work for normal charge attacks since i cant get a normal kikoken to come out.
