While this link has been removed, buried a ways down on GameStop's website was a listing for
a retail version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PlayStation 3.
While not too exciting at first, the listing showed a bunch of goodies that will be included with this package, like the...
- Redemption Code for full game.
- DVD case with sleeve.
- Data DVD with exclusive artwork (wallpapers, icons, character and content art), 4 trailers and screenshots.
- 8 page color manual with artwork and moves list.
- 1 month free subscription to Marvel Digital Comics ($9.99 value).
- 2000 Capcom-Unity points - can be used for prizing and auctions.
All this comes in at $19.99, which is a few bucks more than the game will sell for ($14.99) if you buy it straight up digitally.
And while there isn't a listing yet for the XBox 360, there doesn't seem to be any reason why Capcom wouldn't also release this same package for the Microsoft console, as it shouldn't be that hard to swap around a redemption code that would work on XBox Live.
GameStop also includes a release date of August 13th, but since they seem to guess at these more often than not, I would take that part with a grain of salt. Also, Capcom hasn't made this official yet, so either GameStop slipped up and released information early, or they might be blue-skying a bit.
