My system which is an amd anthlon 64X2 dual core processor 6000+ 3.01 ghz 3 gigs of ram on xp with an nvidia geforce 8600gt ran an average of 55 frames per sencond on the benchmark. The only time it slowed down was during the opening animations and the ultras but those dont effect gameplay so it should be fine i hope.

OS: Wundows XP
CPU: Intel Core2 CPU @ 2.40GHZ
Memory: 2GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS
Display Settings: 1280x1024 60Hz
Gameplay FPS: constantly 60 FPS during gameplay. FPS dropped down to 30FPS in most of the ultra animation start-ups.
Avarage FPS: 42.59. FPS was constantly on 30 FPS during the last part of the benchmark.
So it should run smoothly if you got this hardware.

dude you have the exact same specs as me, even the resolution is the same, yet I only get about 55fps average and a C at the end.
It can't be only because of Vista.

Your graphics card is crap, try turning some settings down.
If you want to get a graphics card to play this game any GeForce 8800 class would be fine.

I'm currently downloading the benchmark not sure how long it will take, but those of you with nice and above cpu need to kick 100 -160 bucks for a good graphic card, dvnt recommended the 9800 GTX, it will help you play this game and other games at standard resolution to mid.
Wish me luck on the benchmark.

v-sync is used to keep your fps from exceeding 60, meaning that your graphic card will not have to work as hard as a card that is trying to keep 120 fps running.

I think it's cheaper to an extent to buy a console than building a pc just to play sf4 -_-, but, I'm guessing pc netcode will be better than it's consoles counterparts. However, offline play FTW :D

Depends on what you've already got. Several people here have passable processors but crappy graphics cards. A $100 GPU is cheaper than a console.
Also, the PC version uses the same netcode.

the comment from Pandaman is right, you can't leave without 60 fps, but don't dare play this game at more than 60 fps, I turned v-sync off and got more than 160 fps and the game runs like "what it probably feels like to smoke crack for a living".
Posted by vsyncisbadnovsyncisgood on June 14, 2009 at 10:51 p.m. #47
Guys, guys!
If you want to run a true benchmark, you should turn vsync OFF, otherwise it won't let the game render more than 60 (or 85) frames per second.
When the game itself arrives, fine, turn vsync ON and play. But for now, turn it OFF so you can get real benchmark numbers.

@stubbs well yeh true, however, if people were just building a whole new pc from the ground up, than yeh it would be more expensive >.<, and awwwww same netcode, we need the ggpo goodness^^

@DVNT
You need a x64 OS for the whole 4GB ram to count, x86 only support 3GB maximum.

From what I'm reading you can choose certain levels of graphics for models and stuff.
Anyone know what level is equal to console or arcade? Hoping highest level isn't equal : S

==Grahphics Card Ranking==
#1-#20 you can run on max out setting
#21-#30 you can run on medium setting (consoles: xbox360, ps3)
If your gpu is below #30 get a new one to maintain 60fps.

Having a bit of trouble
On Windows XP with an E6600(2.40 GHz) and 9800GT and it's not running all that hot.
I'm getting ~50 fps average with slowdowns during ultras and intros with default settings. Though if I put character models to medium I get in the 120 fps range.
Somethings not right, I should be getting alot more than 50 fps with a 9800GT.

Strangely, I installed the benchmark, changed the settings and it runned smoothly (everything on max, ink render, 2x AA, fullscreen 1680x1050, 60fps, 120fps without the AA)... but when I closed the program and tried to run it again the fatal error "Failed resetting the Direct3d device".
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Looks like everyone who has at least:
- 2 Ghz CPU and
- 8800GT
can run the game just fine on max settings (AntiAliasing OFF)
I really don't see a difference with max. AA and no AA... must be my screen resolution 1680x1050 + fast action.
MotionBlur is rather annyoing, most people with LCD displays will get it for "free" anyway ;).
Special Effect is a nice toy, not more or less. Although "posterize" is quite flashy, the default filter looks best to me.
I still wonder what "variable framerate" is useful for, because it doesn't affect performance or visuals at all.

Weird thing though, even if I put the game's settings at rock bottom I still get the same amount of FPS, and they're not on locked.

well, i don't see anyone else trying it, so here we go: every single setting (AA, filtering, shadows, etc) nailed to absolute maximum at a massive 2560x1600 resolution...
my home machine is admittedly a bit of a beast; a rock solid average 60fps, never dipping below 52. to be honest in actual gameplay i'd probably turn vsync on to cap it at 60fps to avoid minor tearing visuals and even out the 52-70fps range; not a bad showing ;)

i think you need to take v-sync off so you can get maximum fps on checking it.. because keeping it on will only give you 60 fps. max... not about texture just about fps.. take it off and see you get alot more of fps with this... which is a good thing.

Hmmm is this benchmark 1 on 1 with the game? or does the benchmark take it to the ultimate. I keep getting low rankings d or e. When i put the graphics to the lowest i get b but thats not how i want to play :(. I wanna play the game at its fullest glory.
I have a macbook pro with bootcamp XP sp3:
intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz
4 gig of ram (3gig in xp)
Geforce 8600 gt
I do have more then recommended except for the graphics card i guess
Any explanation?

@Jack
Ya thats pretty weird. U have the right processor and ram to run it. The graphic card seems good to me.
Thats really odd though. Maybe some other program is using a lot of ur macbook's memory?

@Jack
try to set the character models on medium, that hepls a lot.
everything else can be high.

I have a laptop with
Vista 32 bits
Memory : 3 Go
Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
ATI mobility radeon hd 3450
I know my graphic card is low but it's weird I can't put a better display setting than 640x480.
The game run at ~ 50fps in 800x600 with everything in min and V sync off.
Is it normal ?

I cant seem to get the benchmark tool to work when i open it it says "select language for installation of the choices below" and once i select english it gives me an error message "Documents and settings \ Desktop \ instmsi30.exe not found"
unquoted//
You can use notepad, make a blank text, then save as instmsi30.exe, then you can install. Although it will say it has error, you can continue to install. If you have any enquiries, you can contact me by hknash@yahoo.com, thanks.

This is with all effects on high, texture filtering 16x. Once AA is switched on, framerates fall to averages of 48fps and below.
Temperatures throughout gameplay were around 50 to 55 deg C (room temperature in my country is about 30 deg C).
Hope this helps!

when i seen the requirements i thought it might run sluggish on my rig but i was actually very surprised at how well it played, my specs are:
OS: Windows XP SP2
CPU: 2.4Ghz P4 (single core)
Memory: 1.7GB ram
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS (256MB)
Settings: Max
Reso @ 1024 x 768
Average: 58.33FPS
It occasionally dropped down to around 35 during big specials.
If the FPS is anything above 150 then i think the game is to fast to play properly.

Hey i had a quick question when I'm running this benchmark it says like average is about 70FPS but when i run the in-game benchmark it drops down to like 17fps.
When i run the ingame one it says this: Graphics Card: 768mb 9600gso (117/768mb) <--- is there anyway to change the amount of memory my graphics card uses?
