Seth adds more weight to argument for Wii SF4 release
Following up on an older post, Capcom Community Manager, Seth Killian, also chimed in on the feasibility of porting Street Fighter IV to the Wii. Here's his comment.
Seth: While not every aspect of Street Fighter IV's presentation would likely be possible on the Wii, the core elements are obviously possible. As for "never happen!" -- I'd hope that if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has taught us anything, it's that we should never say never when it comes to Capcom.
Unless you want to talk about more Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Never!
Besides being the final nail in the coffin for Cadillacs & Dinosaurs fans, this post by Seth certainly adds more weight to the argument that Street Fighter IV will be hitting the Wii at some point, possibly before April 2010.

Sf4's netplay is already sketchy. It definitely needs to be released on the Wii, with an even MORE flimsy online presence.

If SF4 comes to the Wii and TvC doesn't come to the PS3 and 360, I'd be tight. That's just not fair.

Yep im gonna need another page on the eventhubs tourney for the wii players. What do you call a group of wii players anyway.... a puddle?

Anyone seen the lag on Brawl? Do you have any idea how bad SF4 is going to be?

I'm all for a Wii release, but the online will be garbage. I own a Wii (and a 360) and I just gave up on Wii online anything. Rubbish.

Holy hell, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is an actual game. What an awesome title.
Anyway, the Wii seems to be getting quite interesting for the fighter community, with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Guilty Gear: Accent Core, and maybe Street Fighter 4 in the future. And don't forget: SF2:WW and ST are available on Wii Virtual Console.

@ #8....2v2? What the hell are you talking about?

Don't most people that have a Wii, also have either a PS3 or XBOX 360, or for that matter a PC. I thought I remember reading somewhere that for many people the Wii is their second system. So why would you need to bring SF4 to the Wii? Sure Nintendo has sold X number of systems, but how many are unique, stand alone systems(i.e. don't have 360 or PS3 sitting next to them)?

I hope Street Fighter IV comes out on the Wii.

If it comes to Wii, they should force those owners to wait 1year for a release date, then 6 months more for the game release.
Street Fighter 4 PC version FTW.

How will this affect competitive play? Hopefully the mechanics and balance remain the same on the Wii.

I wish they would port sfiv to the psp. Imagine being able to practice on the go.

Porting Sf4 wouldn't be ideal, unless if you're a pad warrior. I honestly don't mind if SF4 comes out on the wii, it would be interesting though actually using the wii-mote to do some motions.
Besides a majority of Sf4 players either have a 360 or Ps3, no harm for wii having SF4 if ever. If they don't get the port, perhaps SF4 would have a wii spinoff of the game, like how, the wii had soulcalibur legends.
To people complaining about online play, offline play is the way to go :D, you don't have to deal with lag, rage quitters, etc.

@Traveller: Screw that! If they're going to remake it for the Wii they might as well take the time to make it a great game too.

The shi--... pardon me, POOPY graphics add nothing to SF4. Release it for the Wii as a pure 2D fighter.
Posted by kinguto on June 13, 2009 at 7:32 a.m. #25
TYLER OF LOVE is right, release as a pure 2D fighter, pixel madness.
