Reminder: Street Fighter Alpha 3 to hit the PSN While we originally reported this clear back in October, it's worth pointing out again that Street Fighter Alpha 3 has been rated by the ESRB for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 2 were also listed at the time, with the latter just being released last week.

Since Capcom sent off several of their titles to be ported to the PlayStation Network not too long ago, we should be seeing an Alpha 3 release any time now.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 ESRB rating

Thanks to Zonic505 for the heads up.

The PS version of Alpha 3 is actually the worst one, with dropped frames of animation, such as Gen's clenching hand after missing his QCFx2+P super. Why not release a hybrid between the Saturn/DC version (no cut frames) and the PSP version (extra characters)? I guess it's Sony licensing crap or something

It's that PlayStation 1 emulation is pretty much perfect on the PS3 and PSP. All they need to do is wrap the ISO and the game's good to sell.

There's no 360 love because it's being released as a PS1 classic on PSN. So let's see... 1. Crappy port, 2. somehow they feel it's a good idea to keep the loading times in there, and 3. there'll be no online.

The 360 isn't missing out on very much until Capcom decide to port the DC version.

since this is available elsewhere, the only reason for releasing it on ps3 is so people can take advantage of the glorious psn for online play.

Crappy port or not, it still is a great fighter and it is better than 95% of the games on XBLA.

Hey, looks like people read the Ask Capcom section of Capcom Unity. Perhaps I should sent this info to Kotaku & Destructoid.

Sft2 hd remix, puzzle fighter, castle crashers, the dishwasher, megaman9 and boom boom rocket.. these are the only arcade games worth playing really... but then again psn sucks and were all just waiting for marvel vs capcom 2 in the end

@Smexy Millz

"But then again psn sucks"

I do believe Super Stardust HD and Tekken 5 DR would like to have a word with you.

What, no Mortal Kombat II love on PSN? LoL

World Tour mode in the PSX version is way better than the DC version... I might get this just for that... Otherwise, i should just stick w/ my DC version...... Decisions, Decisions..

Please Capcom! Release the PSP version on the PS3 instead and add online play! I beg of you, please!!!

By releasing this, they are pretty much saying that there is no chance at having the game rereleased anytime soon with any meaningful additions (online).
