Daigo: SSF2T HD Remix would be a hit in Japan
Usually Street Fighter titles are released in Japan first and hit the United States and other places later on down the road. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix didn't follow this formula and to date hasn't even been released in Japan — at least by conventional means.
Daigo Umehara, Evo Street Fighter 4 champion, thinks Capcom would have a hit on their hands if they were to make the game available to Japanese players with an arcade release, according to Sirlin.net.
Daigo went on to add that in Japan, the console version isn't as important to the competitive scene as an arcade release, since arcades are still very popular over there.
While this won't affect the majority of the English speaking audience, opening up the game to hardcore fans over there would help draw in more players from other countries to compete at tournaments and contribute more content to the community.
Capcom typically responds when they feel there's enough interest to justify the business costs, so we'll see if players in Japan can generate enough buzz to get the title released.

They definitely should release the game in arcades for Japan. Isn't Super Turbo still big over there?

wonder if there side will do better at the game in tournaments since Capcom did it backwards this time . Or maybe this was an experiment since SF4 was released ion there side 1st they have better players, now our side will have the better players as far as HD is concerned.

People actually care about that half-assed unbalanced garbage of a game? Why want garbage when they have the superior SFIV?

If Daigo says that Anal bleaching is cool is it also news?

@ SYRAPH
Never comment about HD Remix like that again. How dare you.

i was thinking about trying out hdr on ps3. but he whines hard about the ps3 version of hdr in his other post. hopefully for his sake his assumed 'special' bug is legit and isn't just his nerves getting to him. cause it definitely stopped me from trying the game, and i assume that's not what he'd want. hard to trust him though, even when he worked on the game, since he totally sounds like the type of guy to be a game-hypochondriac.

Capcom Japan just DOESN'T want to accept that Sirlin did their job better than them.

It would appear that HDR is the new standard here in North America, so it would be cool to see it get an arcade release in Japan. I think releasing it in the arcade would boost play both there, in Japan, and in the States, as most American tournament players prefer playing in the arcade.

Sirlin knows what's up. Switch to Xbox 360 next year EVO. For reals.. for every game. SF4, MvC2, HDR, Blazblue.
Clearly the PS3 is not trust worthy.

I'd like capcom to release HDR in Japan as well. I'm curious to see if they'll accept it with open arms or stick to Super Turbo (similar to how the USA community did it).

Please no more posts about Sirlin. He hates all fighting games besides HDR & the older versions of GG.

ST is fine as it is, HDR isn't needed.

For a Japanese player to get HDR, all they would have to do is create a USA address'd Xbox Live account, this will give them access to all the demos/arcade/videos that come out in the USA, then they could download the Trial version of HDR, once it's downloaded sign onto their main account the Japanese one. then play the game and click "buy game" and they can buy it through that, or they could simply buy it off the english account they created.

I agree with #17.
The best thing about ST / HDR is that you don't get wannabes online that keep trying the latest crouching short - crouching jab - crouching jab - crouching fierce xx fb combo they saw on YouTube.
So f@#$in' annoying.

Typical scrub comment. "So f@#$in' annoying" <- Deal with it. :/

Being honest here, I had no idea so many people disliked HDR.
In my opinion, it really is the superior version of Super Turbo and I really hope more and more people get into it.
Why is it so hated I don't get it?

lol #22 got hit a little too close to home

Actually I'd say #22 is right, there's nothing wrong with people trying things, that's how you learn and if you're having trouble with it maybe you need think about it a little instead of crying. :)

#22 is probably a shoto-scrub that #21 is describing.

hdr is inferior compared to st.
even the ' up dated ' graphics look like dog crap.

and so on. :/

I enjoy both Classic ST and HDR. They're both really fun games. Some people are just purists. Others like new and shiny things. As long as I have my stored super Chun, I'm satisfied. :D
