It's fairly common for money matches to take place around Evo tournament time, and this year was no exception. Apparently
Jav1ts on the SRK.com boards was able to round up a bunch of top players and they all took turns playing against Daigo Umehara, the reigning Street Fighter 4 champion, with some dough on the line.
Note, Daigo played Ryu in all of his matches. Here's how they fared, but Jav1ts stated there's a bit of room for error on the scores, but who won or lost is accurate.
- Arturo "Sabin" Sanchez (Dhalsim) beat Daigo 5-4.
- Daigo beat Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, 5-3.
- Daigo beat Dr.Chaos (Ken), 3-0.
- Daigo beat Philly-One (Cammy), 3-0.
- Ryan Hart (Sagat) beat Daigo 3-2.
- Daigo beat Ari "fLoE" Weintraub (Sagat), 5-0 and in another rematch 5-0 again.
- Daigo beat Martin "Marn" Phan (C. Viper), 5-4, Marn lost by a pixel. In a rematch Daigo won 5-0.
- Daigo beat Joe "iloveu" Ciaramelli (Sagat), 5-0, and in another rematch Daigo won 5-0 again.
- Daigo beat Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez (Balrog), 5-0.
- Daigo beat Alex "Sin" Salguero (Rufus), 3-2.

Inkblot said that IGN will start posting the high quality versions of Evo matches this Friday on their Insider service, and more matches will follow over the next few weeks.
A big thanks goes out to
Slasher for the heads up on these items.
